Took truck in for overheating problems and I suggested it could be a head gasket. Truck checked and I was told truck only needed coolant flush. One hour later was told that truck blew out hoses on test drive could be a head gasket. Truck checked and I was told truck only needed coolant flush. One hour later was told that truck blew out hoses on test drive and that the issue was a head gasket. $1200 spent on initial mis-diagnosis for labour and related parts. Head gasket repair supposed to take days , but never got truck back til 6 days One hour after picking up my truck from this major repair I got a phone call asking me to check my front wheel lug nuts as some were found on the shop floor . Sure enough the front wheel only had 4 out of 8 nuts on it . Returned to shop and mechanic came out and put on lug nuts . No apology or excuse, just 'there ya go'. 30 minutes out of town , "low coolant " light comes on . Back to shop as mechanic failed to bleed out air lock in cooling system . Same story with mechanic who topped coolant off, no apology! two days later . 'low coolant light ' on again . Traced to heater hose that had come off . Obviously never tightened properly after repair. More
