Overall experience was good. Involved minor body work & Warr I took in my car for minor body work. The scheduling was excellent. However, after the body work was complete a problem occurred with a module control I took in my car for minor body work. The scheduling was excellent. However, after the body work was complete a problem occurred with a module controlling some features. This was only discovered after I returned home with the car. I took the car back. The problem was analysed and determined to be a module that needed to be shipped from Ontario. The dealership quickly determined the schedule and being approx. a week provided a rental for my use. Once again the scheduling a excellent and the work performed solved the issue. This is my 5th car purchased from Northstar Ford. I give them repeat business for two reasons....the vehicles I bought were excellent as was the service I experienced. More

Lack of empathy We bought our truck from your dealership and have been back a few times for maintenance. My experiences have been good except for my last one. We encountered an issue with the bluetooth system so I booked a first appointment. Please note that it is quite inconvenient for us to run with only one vehicle but made the arrangements to make it work. The mechanics ran a diagnostic and reset the system advising me that if it didn't fix the problem, they would replace the part for us. Unfortunately, the reset did not fix the issue so I called to make a second appointment. I dropped my truck off the night before and the service advisor (different than the one I've been talking to) called to advise of the cost of the diagnostic. I advised him that this step had been done and the part needed to be replaced. I am surprised, the notes in my file were not read before he called. At the end of the day, I received a call to inform me that the truck was ready to pick up and that the part was ordered, I was quite shocked as I thought that the issue would have been fixed at that time. I mentioned that this was quite inconvenient and the service advisor did not seem empathic to our situation. I was expecting an apology for the inconvenience while telling me your procedures for ordering that part. Once the part was in, I was called and made arrangement for a 3rd visit. The morning of the appointment, I sat in my truck outside the service door for 5-10 minutes and noticed that nothing was moving inside, I parked my truck and I decided to go inside to drop off my key as my spouse was waiting for me, we had to drop off our child and both drive to work. The lady at the service reception was less than courteous; I guess she noticed how unhappy I was and reacted in the same way. I am happy to report that I got my truck back that night and the after service reception lady was great. I need to test my phone connection for music in the truck again as it didn't seem to work quite right. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. More

Exceptional Service I was able to book an Oil change & service appointment for the following day. My wife and I drove our cars to Northstar Ford, after hours, to drop off I was able to book an Oil change & service appointment for the following day. My wife and I drove our cars to Northstar Ford, after hours, to drop off the vehicle to be serviced and drove home. We receive a phone call in the morning from Fiona to confirm the Work Order, and another one advising the vehicle is ready for pick-up. We pick the vehicle up at our convenience. Couldn't be easier. We have never had a bad experience at Northstar Ford. Kudos! More
2018 F150 Check Engine Light Check Engine Light came on while driving less than 4000km on new vehicle. OBDII codes were P0021 and P0316. meaning "Camshaft Position A Timing Over A Check Engine Light came on while driving less than 4000km on new vehicle. OBDII codes were P0021 and P0316. meaning "Camshaft Position A Timing Over Advanced" and possible "Engine Misfire on Startup". The vehicle was running well and only a reset and update of the PCM were done. Since this was not a critical repair the Check Engine Light should not have been used, a warning on the centre console display to have this checked at next service day would be adequate. There was no charge for the diagnostic - this time. This alarm caused a trip delay and cost me several dollars in loss of use of the vehicle, I am concerned what would be the consequence while on a road trip out of province, or out of warranty. Diagnostic costs of $200 + shop supplies could runup to $250 for the next alarm instead of a warning. Also it is poor performance to have a mechanical/electronic problem with less than 4000km on the vehicle. More
