Recommended some very high cost maintenance that wasn't requ Dropped off my 2012 F150 for a tune up and to check a "leak" on the left hand turbo that had been noticed when I was previously in for a service and o Dropped off my 2012 F150 for a tune up and to check a "leak" on the left hand turbo that had been noticed when I was previously in for a service and oil change. I was quoted a total of $6,200 to fix "oil leaks" on the turbo and various other locations on my engine. Though friendly, the service representative didn't have any answers when I asked for more information, i.e., severity of the "leaks", prioritization to help cushion the blow of the cost, i.e., what really needed to be done? (Note that I've never had to top up oil between changes nor noticed any oil in my driveway or parking spot at work). I went and got a second opinion with a mechanic I trusted and yes, I had some minor oil leakage, but nothing that would warrant wholesale replacement of the turbo and the various other components I was quoted. They shampooed the engine, and we'll check how much oil has really leaked in another two weeks. I bought my vehicle at North Star and had a decent experience, and also serviced it there periodically with good service, but this experience was too much (literally and figuratively). I won't be back. More

Cost too high for value I am unhappy with the experience of this service for two main reasons. First they did not have the parts in stock. That meant that I had to come bac I am unhappy with the experience of this service for two main reasons. First they did not have the parts in stock. That meant that I had to come back. I had to wait with a non-serviceable vehicle for over a month. It also meant that I had to pay a diagnostic fee which they were not willing to credit to the repair invoice. This is the first time I have had to pay for diagnostics. The second reason is that the price to change a water pump @ over $1200 is outrageous. Additionally, the technician's diagnosis was superficial and missed one component. I brought that to the 'advisor's' attention, and no credit was offered for the poor quality diagnosis. More
