I am a car guy and have been totally unimpressed with every paint shop I have used in Calgary, so was expecting more of the same. However, from the friendly and helpful staff to the amazing paint job they did on our car with metallic paint (no colour mismatch at all) it was a very pleasant experience. I don't normally recommend repair shops but this is one exception. They just painted a small part for one of my cars and did a superb job again. Highly recommended! More
Average service Service was average , had to call to find out the status of my vehicle as they were so busy they couldn’t call to keep me updated. Service was average , had to call to find out the status of my vehicle as they were so busy they couldn’t call to keep me updated. More
Good friendly service My service work was handled in a professional manner. All work that I asked for was done, problems identified with recommended future work set up. Since new owners ( now NorthStar Ford ) it has gone down hill. Communication and delivery of information is Very poor. We had our vehicle in the shop ( Body and Service) for about a month after a collision. Prior to the Collision we had not had any troubles with our vehicle. While our vehicle was there we never received any updates as to how things were going, we were always the ones to inquire as to the progress. While the vehicle was in the shop, they had called to notify us that they were having issues with the battery. Instead of asking us if we had previously had issues with it or how old the battery was, they just told us that it needed to be replaced and what the cost was. We had replaced our battery about a year and half ago and had bought it from the dealership. I explained this to them and they said they needed the receipt. I explained it was in the glove compartment. We received 3 calls from them stating they could not locate record of receipt after looking with service and parts department. On each occasion specifically said AGAIN that it was in the glove compartment. After the 3rd time they finally listened. We just brought our vehicle back in for servicing and to look at an issue we were having. AGAIN they needed clarification on multiple calls as to what we wanted looked at . Dealing with this dealership is annoying and frustrating as I feel no one listens to what we are saying. The only reason we have been going there is because it is close to our house. We will be looking for another dealership to bring our vehicle More
Dealer does not meet my needs I dropped off my truck in the over night, so they had it the whole day. Told them i needed it back at 2:30PM, when i arrived at 3PM they said it just I dropped off my truck in the over night, so they had it the whole day. Told them i needed it back at 2:30PM, when i arrived at 3PM they said it just went in. Waited till 4:30PM to get it. I was told they can not replicate problem. Asked to bring him on a drive and he heard the problem, and took my paperwork with him. Said he would call the next day to make another appointment to fix it. Still waiting 3 days later. I normally have better service and they are usually good at finding and fixing problem but this time was not good. I also normally have Fiona as a service rep and she does a way better job. More
Oil dipstick jammed - F150 2010 F150: They wanted to charge me over $ 200.00 to repair the jammed dipstick. They were the last to use it, this is a design flaw as per the Ford 2010 F150: They wanted to charge me over $ 200.00 to repair the jammed dipstick. They were the last to use it, this is a design flaw as per the Ford F150 forums. They did change my oil, I think. I have no way of knowing, but as they have always up to now given me excellent service I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. Brittany was friendly and mostly helpful. My vehicle is over 8 years old and I expect some wear and tear, with no warranty coverage. I feel that as my dealer they are the voice to talk to Ford when a recurring problem like this comes up, however, she became defensive. I treated her with kindness and respect so a defensive response makes me suspicious. Off to the Ford forums. The F150 forums have lots of posts regarding this issue. It seems to be the plastic they use for the dipstick top swells, changes with heat, enters a 4th dimension and gets welded on, actual cause unknown. The Ford response is to replace the entire tube and stick as they can not free many of these either. I have seen reported problems with this going back to 2006 ... and thus the huge cost. I wish Brittany had taken the time to explain this to me. As she told me she has seen this problem 2 or 3 times before I assume she is familiar with why a dipstick is so expensive to unjam. Perhaps I caught her on an off day. Since my dealer is not willing to work with me on this I will have to contact Ford directly. Given the age of my vehicle I do not hold out much hope. For those of you who may yet experience this problem the user community is finding that simply sanding the plastic cap BEFORE it gets stuck seems to prevent the problem. I just wish they had been willing to work with me rather than treating me like a problem. More
Oil change without tire rotation My very 1st visit with my new 2018 Ford Escape SE for an Oil Change- the tech was super pleasant and thorough! My vehicle was in and out within one h My very 1st visit with my new 2018 Ford Escape SE for an Oil Change- the tech was super pleasant and thorough! My vehicle was in and out within one hour as promised. This is a huge deal to me, (one that Metro Ford couldn’t commit to unfortunately), as I work split shifts between 4-16:00 hours M-F leaving me with only 1.5 hours free time everyday. The African Safari coffee was a nice treat! Also, I love the fact that you’re open on Saturdays too! Way to go Northstar! 👍 More
APIM analysis and replacement I had intermittent trouble with the Sync system. The screen went black quite often but would return. Assessment at dealer was difficult as the scree I had intermittent trouble with the Sync system. The screen went black quite often but would return. Assessment at dealer was difficult as the screen was always working when vehicle was taken in for servicing. When it finally did go, it was no longer covered under the 12M02 warranty extension. So, the cost of the replacement of the APIM was very high ($1770). I went ahead with the replacement and asked for the old part to be shown to me afterwards. At time of pickup I was told the old part had already been shipped to Ford in New York which I was amazed with the expediency. When spending so much money, I just like seeing the old part as a gut check. The fact it was gone makes me paranoid and feel like something is being hidden from me. Was the part actually replaced? Also, the lady at the payment counter was joking I had to pay so much. She says “ya I don’t buy vehicles with the bells and whistles for this reason”. Didn’t need to hear that. My wife and I own 3 fords (explorer, escape and mustang). I won’t be returning to this dealership. More
