Seems the owner wont make any money this months, plus the dealership will pay for keeping vehicles in the stock, sales plan wont be fulfilled and they will continue wasting their own money they made last month! This is typical unprofessional jobs ppl they hired with out any experience in sale! Dealership doesnt have cars in stock!!! So let it be! Do now waste your time with such arrogant sales methods and this dealership! Bad is always BAD! More
Don't buy a Kia, and don't give this dealership your business. Our Sorento's engine failed out of nowhere so we had it towed to Northland Kia. You'd think taking your Kia to a Kia dealership would me business. Our Sorento's engine failed out of nowhere so we had it towed to Northland Kia. You'd think taking your Kia to a Kia dealership would mean they'd know how to remedy any issue, and you'd get solid customer service, but that was far from the case. Told me my lifetime extended powertrain warranty (a result of a class action lawsuit settlement against Kia) was void because the vehicle had about 50 ml less oil than the threshold requirement. We take the vehicle for regular oil changes, and over the last 2 changes the vehicle seemed to be burning an excessive amount of oil (there's an ongoing class action lawsuit on this). Had to get a new engine (isn't cheap...). Took 6 weeks to get our vehicle back, and when they did send me home with the "repaired" vehicle, the engine light was still on. Had to bring it back 2 more times with a check engine light, and it took them forever to figure out what the problem was. They suggested they do all kinds of "trial and error" to narrow down what the issue was, all on my own dime (hundreds of dollars of services), which in the end wouldn't have even fixed the issue. They also returned my vehicle to me with one of the tail lights out. They get one star because I was able to negotiate costs down on a couple things and the service advisor we worked with was decent (Alim), but I was not at all impressed with my experience. Sold the vehicle because I never want to deal with Kia again - vehicles are junk and service the same. STAY AWAY! More
Northland Kia first they smile, then ask for a deposit, 100% told and more than once that the deposit is refundable. Claiming that no one will ruin their reputation because of the deposit. And when you dec 100% told and more than once that the deposit is refundable. Claiming that no one will ruin their reputation because of the deposit. And when you decide not to take the car, then all, immediately change and do not return the deposit, shifting to the manager, they say, we can take can, but we can not venut already, we have done the work. What work have you done? For which you are paid a salary???? You're being scammed! I did the smart thing. They asked for 2000 deposit, then at least 1000. I said I didn't have the money, I could give 200 on my credit card. They assured me that for 200 bucks, no one would lose their reputation. They didn't. I immediately called the VISA card hotline and explained the situation. They blocked the transaction and refunded the money. The manager laughed into the phone, saying that he would not return it, I had to buy a car or they would keep the money. Who is who now? They are 100% scammers, don't go there. P.S. Most importantly, they push you to leave a deposit before the bank approves your loan and you don't know the interest rate I with I can put 0 of 5. That was 1 month ago More

They charge insane fees, verbally acknowledged theyd missed things on the service receipt but did not offer a solution or apology and instead just said "we had a lot of cars today." Made us wonder what we were being scammed if they admit missing things listed. After $1500+ in service fees for "regular service" on a sportage in less than six months we sold our Kia to another dealership and wouldnt recommend Northland. More
Would not deal here again. Northland Kia are unscrupulous shopkeepers! Their salespeople, manager and general manager are all scammers! Stay away from this dealership or lose plenty of money! I’m a new immigrant to C Their salespeople, manager and general manager are all scammers! Stay away from this dealership or lose plenty of money! I’m a new immigrant to Calgary and I’ve purchased my first and new vehicle from Northland Kia. They are taking advantage of me as a new immigrant and inexperienced buyer who is not familiar with cars and know nothing about the law and their deceptive sales tactics. 1.THE FIRST TRAP They stealthily added 3 service packages that costs $8000 CA to the price of my car and told me just the inflated price and said that’s the price of the car, and said their dealership also “included” some services to me and for anyone who purchased any car at their dealership. I’ve never been told that I had to pay for those services. Unfortunately, I only realised the fact that I actually paid for those “free” services out of pocket a week after the purchase, so I've tried to make a complaint to the manager. The manager said the general manager declined the refund request of the 3 service packages amounting to $8000 CA because: i.) Those extra but paid services are compulsory, anyone who purchased a car at their dealership must purchase those 3 packages. ii.) I’ve already signed the documents. iii.) They have never received similar complaints before. 2. THE SECOND TRAP My “brand new” car comes with over 700km and some slight scratches, so I requested them to fix it. I've been explained by the salesman that since this model is rare and that's the only car of this model at their dealership at that moment, so it’s been tested drive by potential buyers. Then they only tried to put some car scratch removers on it but it didn’t work and said that’s the best they can do. I looked up on google and found that actually many dealerships sell their demo or manager car at a discount, so I suspected that I paid 18% more than the actual price of the new car but for a demo car! 3. THE THIRD TRAP I’ve also been told by the salespeople that my car included “FREE” oil change. After I paid and signed everything at the finance office, the finance lady presented me with a card saying that only the oil change is free, but every time I go for the oil change, there’s a bundle package that I have to pay extra and price goes deeper and deeper! I’m really frustrated, angry and shame on this dealership! There are plenty of other dealerships in Calgary, go elsewhere! More
I agree with all the other 1 star reviews, if only there was a Zero. Same experiences: salesman taking advantage of inexperienced buyer (my daughter), finance Girl Laurie scribbles out 12,000 in extras at t was a Zero. Same experiences: salesman taking advantage of inexperienced buyer (my daughter), finance Girl Laurie scribbles out 12,000 in extras at time of payment, won't refund the deposit so we can't go elsewhere. Suggests salesman isn't competent enough to know about undercoating, paint protection or truth about the "Alberta Package". No concern for the customer just get the sale. BUYER BEWARE!!! The Alberta package "MANDATORY" $3000 for a block heater, locking lug nuts, floor mats and lifetime oil changes. I would bet the car comes with this anyway so this is probably the salesman's commission. Matt never mentions that for each oil change there is a steeper and steeper charge to do an inspection on the vehicle before free oil change and if you bring it here, no courtesy ride to work or home… only 12Km Uber lift. Challenge them on anything and Laurie will bring in a manager?? who will tell you " We've never had issue with customers before… you are the only ones, you must be mistaken." She sits there and listens to the lies… disgusting...what kind of people work here and does the owner ever read the reviews? This has to be on him, it's his work culture. No brochures to tell you what you get for the options, in fact nothing in writing but the Big Of Sale. Imagine that, take my word for it…. yeah??? Beautiful little car but horrible company to deal with TOTALLY UNTRUSTWORTHY! Ruined the entire buying experience for us all and we won't go back for service either, I can just imagine what that would be like. Sad, sad, sad on all counts. How do they stay in business? More
I wish I had read these reviews before I bought my first car and now my second car at this dealership. I agree 100% they are scammers. Laurie's tactic of presenting different add-ons at the point of signing car and now my second car at this dealership. I agree 100% they are scammers. Laurie's tactic of presenting different add-ons at the point of signing is their SOP. Ripped me off $2,000 on the trade-in value of my car and now I see that the prices they charge for serving are a scam as well. Never going back there again. Buyers beware! Their trick of doing an alignment based on some printout they give you is a scam. More
As with any car purchase, we spent a significant amount of time negotiating and coming to agreement on a purchase of a KIA Sportage at Northland KIA. Once we put down $5000.00 as a purchase deposit, when a of time negotiating and coming to agreement on a purchase of a KIA Sportage at Northland KIA. Once we put down $5000.00 as a purchase deposit, when all negotiations were over, that’s when Laurie decided to present us with warranty packages and other exterior options. This would impact our purchase price and should have been presented before purchase agreement. Laurie continues to show her incompetency by giving us the wrong vin number for us to register with our insurance. What would normally be a routine procedure took hours of our time to rectify due to her incompetency. The day we went to pick up our vehicle, after we transferred the registration of our trade-in vehicle, Laurie again presents us with the “free lifetime oil change” package. Josh the salesman touted and showcased the “free lifetime oil change” included in the car purchase. Nowhere did he say that in order to receive the “free oil change” we would have to pay $69.99 (and up) every 6000kms maintenance checks to ensure warranty validity. The sales people at Northland KIA are dishonest, incompetent, unforthcoming and unethical in their business conduct. Having purchased several vehicles here in Calgary, I have never felt so swindled and tricked at a car dealership purchasing a new car. Thank you to Darren (general sales manager) for returning our deposit back. Even at the very end Josh and Laurie had to stick it to my family by making it extremely difficult for us to reverse the vehicle registration. Caveat emptor - buyer beware!!! More
