Is this for real? I was first impressed by this huge dealership and friendly staff and secondly by the way they treated myself and other costumers. Came in just look I was first impressed by this huge dealership and friendly staff and secondly by the way they treated myself and other costumers. Came in just looking and met with Greg. Took a test drive of the 2018 Elantra and I loved it. I even got to met the sales manager Joe who shook my hand and thanked me just for coming in. I went to some other dealership but it didnt compare to this one so I came back and bought from Greg. Lisa helped get me approved and I also got a sweet deal on lifetime oilchanges. All and all amazing buying experience and I recommend this dealership for anyone buying a Hyundai! More

Be informed BEFORE you go! I was stranded in Newmarket when my car wouldn't start. CAA told me it was likely the alternator, the battery test came back fine but the car wouldn't I was stranded in Newmarket when my car wouldn't start. CAA told me it was likely the alternator, the battery test came back fine but the car wouldn't run once the jumper cables were disconnected. I spoke to Elias and told him what CAA said and that the battery was fairly new and as soon as the jumper cables were disconnected the car turned off. I was also clear that he should not worry about check engine light as I already knew the issue was a fuel sensor. He informed me they would do a scan (at a cost of $70) to ensure that was the issue. He called back and said the scan showed an alternator problem and one bad cell in battery. I informed him that the battery was only a year and a half old, bought at Hyundai dealer in Chatham, and asked about the warranty. He said it was not transferable and only a three year warranty anyway. When I asked about the quote of $220 for the battery he said that my car was quite old (it is a 2005 Accent), and the battery was hard to find which is why the cost was in the upper end. He told me the time to remove and replace the alternator would be for 3 hours at shop rate of $112 an hour and the alternator would cost $444. With taxes it would be over $1100 just to get my car running. I was not happy with the cost but required my car to return home (3 hours away), so said do what it take to get it running. I called my local dealership to confirm the details of my battery warranty and the service manager said my battery should be covered as it's a Hyundai part and he could provide details to Newmarket when needed. I thanked him and told him I would call from the other dealership for those details. When I authorized the work, Elias told me it would be ready by the following afternoon. I called just before 1:00pm and spoke to Olivia, a different service advisor. She indicated that my car was almost finished but that the shuttle person was on lunch and would be sent out at 2/2:30. I called and spoke to Elias at 2:55, who said my car was just finished and he just got the keys. I questioned this and referenced my conversation with Olivia. He said he had no idea why someone else would say that, it must have been a misunderstanding. He said the shuttle person was on their way back and would be sent right away. Called at 3:35 and spoke to Olivia again, to inquire about time frame of pick up, I also confirmed my earlier conversation with her and she said she sent my message to Elias after we spoke. The shuttle arrived at 3:45. When I arrived at Newmarket Hyundai, Elias was friendly as he greeted me. He said that my car was running great and that my check engine light was also off. I was already irritated by the miscommunication about my shuttle pick up time and was quite clear that I had not asked them to do anything about the check engine light, it does go off sometimes and as previously stated it is not a mechanical issue so I am not concerned with it. I asked him to go over the bill with me as I was not happy with the high cost of replacing the alternator. When he started to discuss the battery I very clearly stated I felt I was being taken advantage of. He said he had quoted me the prices and I had agreed-which does not negate the feeling of being overcharged. I again asked about my warranty, explaining that I could provide proof of purchase through my local dealership. At this point the service manager, Daniel came out of his office. I repeated the feeling that I was being taken advantage of and asked him about the warranty on my battery. He said without proof of purchase he could not honour the 5 year warranty, 4 years of which were prorated. I again explained that my local dealership could provide the information. I called them and handed the phone to Daniel. After Daniel hung up with Joel he told me it would be a bit and he would see what he could do. After about 20 minutes he told me that he was able to get my battery fully covered under warranty and that they had rushed it so I wouldn't have to wait. I want to be clear that I already knew it would be covered as the battery had a five year warranty, prorated after two years. I asked Daniel why Elias had told me the battery only had a three year, prorated warranty-he apologized and said Elias simply was not aware. I am confident in saying I was being patronized by Daniel and taken advantage of by Elias. If I, a customer was aware of the warranty why wouldn't an experienced employee? When I returned home, I was appalled to learn that the “book time” for an alternator replacement was actually only three quarters of an hour. It confirmed for me that Newmarket Hyundai had indeed taken advantage of me. It has soured my feelings toward Hyundai and in the future I would rather pay to have my car towed back to Chatham to deal with my local dealership than any other Hyundai dealership in Ontario. More
Terrible Customer Service Customer service lacks in this dealership. Service staff are not very helpful and want to just avoid dealing with things. I was given the wrong inf Customer service lacks in this dealership. Service staff are not very helpful and want to just avoid dealing with things. I was given the wrong information about my Lifetime Rust Proof warranty by a service staff and never properly had it explained to me when I purchased the car (ie. fine print). Now the dealer does not want to pay for rust that is happening even after I had my car sprayed and inspected there annually. The car should not be rusting if it was inspected and sprayed there, this should have been dealt with at inspections. I would choose another dealership, I would never buy another car at Newmarket Hyundai again. More

My Elantra that I switched over to my son went 319,000 + KM, I purchased a Sonata, it is now at 257,000km, My son Purchased a Santa Fe from Nmkt Hyundai, His wife bought an Elantra, her family owns 2 Hyundai vehicles. This dealership needs training on good customer service. This is simply constructive criticism because whether we meet again has no bearing on my review. In the short time spent at Newmarket Hyundai, I was This is simply constructive criticism because whether we meet again has no bearing on my review. In the short time spent at Newmarket Hyundai, I was encouraged enough to purchase a 2017 Santa Fe. Within six months, the relationship is gone due to the attitude of the service staff. The entire episode was so minor, yet the tone and helpfulness of the staff was one of "holier than thou" and "we don't need your business". If this conduct does not change from the service manager on down to the receptionist, this dealership will develop a poor rating in the vicinity. Maybe there are other options available to drive the business other than "treat the customer with respect and cordiality", if so, kudos to them. More

Negotiations were conducted like a little children's game. I left called back with a serious offer and Used car sales Manager turned offer down for $60. Then sales rep told me someone was going to look at car later in the day and was sure he will get more money. Next day he called me telling me the car was still available for the offer I put the previous day and he will put the $60 out of his pocket. I told him I can only offer less money cause I was looking at another car, he accused me of negotiating in bad faith and low balling the deal. They taught they can play games with customers. Worst car dealership I ever experienced in 45 years. More
