Up-Selling Midland Honda used to be a great dealership with honest people. I took my issues up today with the General Manager regarding all the up-selling that each and every customer in the waiting room was experiencing. After waiting for two hours to have my snow tires swapped out, I asked the General Manager why every customer in the waiting room was called aside and recommended that their filters be changed at a cost of $125.00 when they were only there to have their snow tires swapped. He came up with the excuse that EVERYONE"S car had to be checked as they were having problems. I asked him why with regular service visits would this be necessary when the appointment was made only to have the winter tires swapped. He just repeated the same answer again. This is definitely up-selling, so beware! I made an appointment for my tire swap and still had to wait two hours in the waiting room. The manager said that was fine because they offered me a shuttle. No it is not fine! I made an appointment and specifically said I would be waiting for my car. The manager could care less about my time waiting. I advised him that I spoke to him in person to give him a chance to make things right and he did not take advantage of this opportunity. He has now lost a Honda customer for life and he did not seem to care one bit. All he said was he was sorry I felt that way. No wonder everytime I go there the entire staff is different. I miss Steve House, he was awesome and honest! Good Bye Midland Honda after buying 4 cars from you. You are not going to sting me with your up-selling ever again. More
Changed price quotes and lied about tires. Midland Honda quoted us a price for our trade on a Saturday. We said we need a day or two to think about it. We returned to the dealership on the next Thursday, and they change the trade-in price to their advantage. We asked, "why," and they said that was last week's price. Then, we discussed the tire tread on the CRV which had about 4,000 miles left on the tire. One of the finance dealers said that the CRV had tires on it that had 90.000 miles on it. First of all the CRV we were looking at did not have the 'touring package on it. He slammed the 'touring package' print-out on the counter and said, "This is what your tire has left on it." Little did he know that I grew up changing tires, aligning them, balancing them, selling tires in our family business that is currently 65 years old and still going strong. My family's business was sold to my father's nephew who still has it in Indiana. Midland's Hondas has not contacted me about this issue. Usually, when one doesn't hear from the General Manager, they have nothing to counter back.. I guess Midland's Honda will do anything to sell a car at any angle. Beware of them! They will tell you anything to sell a car! More
