My experience with Mark Wilson's Better Used Cars was a fairly good one. The dealership was always busy when I ventured there, but the staff seemed to make sure you were looked after and were friendly. Was fairly good one. The dealership was always busy when I ventured there, but the staff seemed to make sure you were looked after and were friendly. Was looking for a used vehicle. Found one & took it to my mechanic to have it looked at - he noticed it needed new tires & brakes. Mark Wilson's did the repairs. I trust they did it accurately and without hesitation. When I picked up the car, it was clean - inside and out. Small things I noticed were fixed and we were good2go. Though it's a 2006 vehicle, folks have commented on how new it looks! I know how busy the dealership was, but Jim & Miguel did what they could to assist me & answer questions. I would recommended Mark's as a choice to friends & family. No one enjoys car-buying too much - you wonder if you are getting ripped off or if the salespeople are telling the truth - but my overall experience -again - was a fairly good one. Yes, I am pleased. Aug. 23/12 purchased a 2011 Ford Connect with 613 miles on it. The rear windshield wiper was missing, several scratches and a dime sized dent with no paint over the side door. Miguel our salesman said the on it. The rear windshield wiper was missing, several scratches and a dime sized dent with no paint over the side door. Miguel our salesman said there was also only one key. Delivery of the vehicle was scheduled for Aug. 29. Miguel said that the key may not be in on time nor the wiper and that he would mail them and we could take the key to a dealership and get it cut. The scratches would be buffed out and we would receive some touch up paint. When we did up the contract we asked for a 2 year plate. The secretary said she had already done the contract but they would get the 2 year sticker and we could pay the extra on delivery. We agreed with that. Up to this point it was a fairly simple transaction. We got a call that the truck was delayed and delivery would be Aug. 31 instead. Miguel arranged to have the vehicle brought to us for the inconvenience. Truck arrived with a new 2 1/2 inch scratch that was dented right down to the metal above the licence plate. Nothing was done to the bullet sized dent over the door. The rear wiper was on. The delivery gentleman said he had a 2nd key. I asked if he had tried it yet. He jumped in to see if it worked and knocked the windshield wiper. Then the wiper would not turn off. They had to remove a fuse to stop it from working. The wiper pump wouldn't work either. We topped it up with our fluid. They also had only bought a one year plate. It was suggested we take it to a Ford dealership and get it fixed as it was under warrantee. Instead we sent the vehicle back and told them to get it fixed. The part(s) had to be ordered from the States. According to the dealership in Guelph they sent the wrong part twice. And then there were computer issues........yada, yada, yada.... Needless to say we were very upset over this. Buy a new vehicle. Have your bank draft Aug. 28, insurance effective Aug. 28. Miguel promised we would be receiving a complimentary gift card for all our troubles. Finally got the truck on Sept. 22nd. No gift card. Rear wiper broken off. (they would mail us a replacement) A bottle of touch up paint. So we have paid for insurance and paid interest on the purchase for 25 days of not having a vehicle. There should be a law against this. Todays date Oct. 21st. We have not received the wiper. I just received a letter from 407 ETR about an outstanding balance for 35.44. They drove along the 407 when they deliveded the vehicle both times. I did receive an invoice last month with a paid balance of over $50. Looks life Wilsons wants me to pay for this. Can customer service be any worse....I wonder if the people who have placed a review on this site are infact real. More
Here is my story. I went in to look at a newer (less than one year old) ex rental model with low km advertised on autotrader.ca. I looked at online reviews for this dealership before I went and they seemed one year old) ex rental model with low km advertised on autotrader.ca. I looked at online reviews for this dealership before I went and they seemed alright- but looking back it makes me wonder how authentic the other reviews are. The salesman "Brad" seemed very friendly at first and had me take it out on a test drive by myself. I noticed there were a lot of cosmetic scratches on the vehicle and some stains in the headliner and on the drivers seat, otherwise the car seemed fine. Brad took note of the scratches and assured me they could all be removed by wet polishing them out. In the office he made clear the price was fixed as they are a no haggle used car dealership (fine I can accept that). He then went on to mention that there was a $299 administrative fee plus another $5 fee(can't remember what official sounding name he called it) for a total of $304 on top of the no haggle price. This fee was not advertised in the ads - it is however required by law in Ontario!. Anyways he went out of the office to test drive my very good condition trade in. I had researched on line what the approximate trade in value was and knew what black book wholesale value to expect. The number he came up with (a weird odd number down to the dollar!) was less than half of the black book wholesale value! When I pointed this out he claimed his offer was black book (uhm no!). So I said ok lets forget the trade, we are obviously too far apart on that. What can you do about the price considering the scratches? He would only drop the price by $200 (but thats still $100 above the advertised price) and promised to have the scratches removed. I then went on to mention that I'd seen similarly equipped models (also ex rentals) priced comparably in better condition. (The only reason I came to this dealership was because the car was the colour I was looking for). I mentioned that I had been in contact with a very reputable dealership in my home town and that they could get me the exact car for a comparable price(though with a 2-3 week waiting time). This was when he started raising his tone of voice (when he realized I wasn't going to be the easy sale he first though I was). I offered $500 below asking based on the condition it was in and no admin fee. The other option I offered was for them to remove all the scratches and stains and that I would come back a few days later to make a new offer based on the condition it was in then. I was not prepared to buy in blind faith. He started calling me a liar and that he didn't believe me and that I wouldn't find a car like that anywhere for that price. I offered what I felt were two very reasonable options. I kept my emotions cool, but this salesman turned into a loose canon. It was obvious we were done. As I was leaving he demonstratively crumpled up the photocopy of my drivers license he had on his desk and tossed it in the trash. What - are we in grade 6? I m very thankful I didn't give them a penny though I am sorry I wasted a few hours of my time going to this dealership. I'll forever stay away from this place. I feel that they have falsely low advertised prices, and questionable sales tactics. More

Thank you! Thank you! After a bad experience with purchasing my last vehicle, i was extremely hesitant to buy from a dealer again. After dealing with Alyssa, Jim & Neil..i had a new found confidence purchasing my last vehicle, i was extremely hesitant to buy from a dealer again. After dealing with Alyssa, Jim & Neil..i had a new found confidence in the process. Everyone at Mark Wilson's Guelph made me feel comfortable kind of "at home" feeling. The prices were great, i went in knowing what i wanted, and came out with my new truck that i'm very happy with! Everyone was so friendly, i never felt pushed into anything, and when it came time to finance Alyssa worked hard to get the job done! Also would like to mention, Joe and the detailing crew! They worked hard to get my truck in tip top shape, joe even kept some guys late just to make sure the job got done and the truck was ready for us when went to pick it up! I found a minor issue after bringing it home, brought it back the next day to joe, and he fixed it right away!! Thank you Mark Wilson's Guelph for restoring my confidence in dealerships again. I will not buy another vehicle anywhere else!! More
I live in Hamilton and purchased a vehicle from Wilson's. The vehicle was serviced and detailed prior to me picking it up as they had promised. Once I had it there were a couple of issues which came up with the car. I called them back and on 2 occassions they completely took care of my needs. Coming from out of town they even paid for a rental car for me!! The Sales team, their Manager (Neil) specifically and their Service Manager (Chris) are absolutely customer service oriented staff!! I will not be looking anywhere else in the future for a car, I will be back there for sure. From past experiences car lots will take advantage of you once they have your money, not Wilson's they are true to their word and treat you like family. I emailed the owner about my experience and he even responded to me within 1/2 hour!!! The owner is customer service focused as well, he still responds to his clients which is another example. Definitely will be back! Sincerely John Scozzari More
