My wife found a 2015 Focus with 23,000 km. We drove one night from Red Deer to go look at it. The car had just come in and was still dirty because it hadn't been detailed yet or been through an inspection. My wife was told by text from Robyn that the car was free of accidents. A clean carfax. Went for a test drive with Sarbdeep. This guy was decent, polite, and a real person. Not a slimy sales guy. We had a couple questions and he found the answers out. During the test drive when the brakes would engage, it sounded like metal on metal. You could feel it in the car. Got back and I checked it over quickly. Brake issues, valve cover seal, tps sensor was going off due to a low tire and the front bumper was crunched from a curb. Was told it would all be repaired for the purchaser. Told them if they repair those items then I would purchase it. They told me that they would not sell it to me unless I financed it because they get a kick back. This irritated us because we had arranged to pay for the vehicle ourselves. Finally I said fine, finance it and we'll pay it off quickly. At this point, my wife is looking at the Carfax and notices that it does have two claims. One for hail, one for a collision. As well as an open recall. Not cool. Both claims were a couple grand each which is not a lot of damage these days so we brushed it off. Gave our info, wrote up the offer to purchase and we drove back to Red Deer. The next day I received a call that I was approved for financing.....big surprise.... The money is in my account. The interesting part is, I tried calling Dave, the manager cheese ball sales guy that has a dashhound roaming around him in this professional atmosphere like it's a therapy dog. The guy ghosts me. Can’t get an answer back after I tell him the whole price for the car should include the "document fee" which is $700. AMVIC’s policy is that this fee has to be included in the purchase price, and the fee you’re supposed to see is only $6.25. He told me it was all taxes and AMVIC’s fee. So my wife checked the ad on autotrader and they have increased the price of the car by $1000 and will not return our calls. Please check out BBB, Google, and other reviews about this dealership. They have no problem running your credit, wasting your time, and ghosting you. I have to put this out there - Sarbdeep was pleasant to deal with. He did not have the cheesy sales guy tactics like Dave did. The receptionist, Curra, was really nice. We had our 4 year old with us and she played soccer with him, got him set up with balloons and cake, and that was great while we were trying to buy a car from a dealership that is not in the business of selling cars apparently. In late October 2021 I factory ordered a 2021 F150 from Maclin Ford in Calgary. I work for a company that makes me eligible for a corporate X-plan pricing discount, which Maclin Ford said they would honor. Maclin Ford in Calgary. I work for a company that makes me eligible for a corporate X-plan pricing discount, which Maclin Ford said they would honor. They showed me a price of approximately 65k with the discount, on a truck with an MRSP of just over 70k. I placed my order and paid my deposit. I was told they would keep me updated once a VIN was available and throughout the process. The build process was expected to start in the new year. I started to become concerned about 3 months later in early January when an identical truck to what I ordered was listed for sale on Maclin’s website, at MRSP. Due to a combination of non-standard add-ons, I wanted, I knew it was my truck. At this point, I had not yet received a VIN number or any updates from Maclin, like I was told I would. I emailed my salesperson Javen my concerns and got no response. Emailing him a second time a week later, I was told not to be concerned and my truck was still on the way but there was no information available on it. Closer to the end of January, I noticed my truck was now listed on their website for 10k over MRSP, or $15k more than what I agreed to pay for it. At this point I went in person and spoke to a manager, Paul, who told me that I should not be concerned and the truck I ordered was just delayed due to the current supply chain issues. I was starting to have doubts that I’d ever get my truck, but I had already waited 3 months. I convinced myself that they had low inventory and just wanted clicks to their website by listing my truck. The manager and my salesperson treated me like a nuisance for being concerned and reassured me that I would get my truck as soon as they got it in. In early April I noticed the truck was no longer listed on the Maclin website. At this point I had still heard nothing from Maclin’s team. For a second time, I went in person to find out what was happening. When I arrived the salespeople were in a meeting, so I chatted with the receptionist who told me that a truck sounding like the one I ordered was recently sold. Once out of the meeting, Javen told me my truck was still on the way and seemed annoyed I was there. I pushed the issue and got to speak with the manager, Paul. After some discussion I was told my truck had been sold to another customer and there was a mix-up in orders. Although there is a chance it was a simple mix-up in truck orders, the lack of transparency through-out the build process (not getting a VIN or any updates) and my truck being listed for sale on their website, I believe they used my special order to get another truck on their lot and then intentionally sold it for more than I agreed to pay to increase their profit margin. Why else would they list my truck on their website for more than 15k more than what I paid? At best, Maclin Ford lost track of my 70k truck order, and at worst are responsible for underhanded and dishonest business practices. I was able to find a similar truck to the one I ordered at another Ford dealership. It is missing some features I wanted, and I must pay for some features I did not want. With the current demand for trucks and not wanting to repeat this situation, I have agreed to pay MRSP. I am approximately $7,000 out of pocket for a truck that is not exactly what I want after 6 months of waiting because of Maclin Ford. To not write a negative review, Maclin offered me floor tray mats that do not come anywhere near compensating me for the time and money I have lost. There are multiple Ford Dealerships in Calgary. Save yourself some time and headache, go anywhere but Maclin Ford. More

Here is my updated review after purchasing two vehicles from Maclin in the past few years. First vehicle was a used F150. Was told that the damages (sunroof, front 360 camera, running boards, etc) to the t from Maclin in the past few years. First vehicle was a used F150. Was told that the damages (sunroof, front 360 camera, running boards, etc) to the truck would be fixed if I purchased the upgraded bumper to bumper warranty. Thought it was a little odd to purchase the warranty for non warranty coverages, but was assured that’s how they do it. The week after I finalized payments and sale, they booked me an appointment to get things fixed. I got a call from service later that day that none of it except the running boards will be covered. After three months of talking with sales and showing them the texts the sales person sent me, they did end up fixing it, but the extra warranty was a waste of money. Decided to try my luck again and purchase a new truck. Due to chip shortage it did take a about 6 months for it to arrive, but that was not their fault and there was truly nothing they could do. Around the 4 month mark of waiting, we inquired about an identical truck on their lot, only difference being the colour (black). They told me it’s not possible to apply my same “X Plan Pricing” to this truck since it’s not new… We weren’t willing to lose that pricing so we said we will continue to wait. A few days before my original (brown) truck came in I was told they weren’t sure when the truck would be arriving, but they could swap it out with a near identical one on the lot. Can you guess what truck they offered me, at the same pricing as my on order (brown) truck? The black. I was able to track the shipment on their site so when they weren’t sure when my truck was coming in I thought it was odd, but maybe the tracking site wasn’t accurate. So I went ahead and changed my truck to the black one on the lot as I wasn’t sure if the one I ordered would be a month or few months more delayed. Two days after purchasing the black truck, I had a service appointment to get a tonneau cover and spray liner put in… and guess what was in the show room. My truck I ordered and waited 6+ months for. Once I got the ford review I filled it out honestly. I got an email and calls from James Bearzatto stating he was sorry for what happened, “losing sleep over unhappy clients” and was wondering if I could redo the survey as the sales person that the poor review was linked to really had no part of my transaction as the sales person I had, no longer worked at Maclin (not sure if this was a tactic to get reviews changed). I thought no problem I will change it, so that it doesn’t reflect on the final sales person. He “felt just terrible” and as a gesture of apology offered us 3M and undercoating, also stating that we were their longest waiting clients, and were grateful for our patience, and understood where we were coming from. I went to revise the review but there was now a password on the review, I informed James and he reached out to ford reviews to set a new one up. He was not able to get it opened and the survey was locked in to the current year (2021). I followed up with the 3M and undercoating for 3 months before finally getting through to him via phone call. He stated since the review was locked in he isn’t offering the items anymore. He confirmed our suspicions that he never really cared and just wanted to buy our review. Take of this what you will, but fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times, not a chance James! More
Had an absolutely fantastic experience with members of the sales team, namely Chris Pennoyer, Sean Ochosky, and James Bearzatto. I was looking for a gently used fourth-generation GMC HD with specific feat the sales team, namely Chris Pennoyer, Sean Ochosky, and James Bearzatto. I was looking for a gently used fourth-generation GMC HD with specific features within the trim level I wanted. I specifically contacted Chris Pennoyer after reading various positive customer feedback reviews to inquire about a truck of interest on their website, but it was short two must have features I was looking for. Chris was able to come up with solutions to get the factory like options I needed added to the truck. I also dealt with Used Vehicle Sales Manager Sean Ochosky, as I had a premium trade to discuss numbers on. I'm located 8 hours away from Calgary, and this deal was seamless from start to finish, completely done over the phone and email. These gentlemen acted with honesty, integrity, intent, and with absolute transparency about the vehicles history. The Truck was delivered to my door exactly as portrayed, with no surprises. Highly recommend giving Maclin a chance to earn your business, as I have dealt with a number of different dealerships over the years, and nothing compares to the customer service I have received from this group! Initial contact was rushed and salesperson was rude and dismissive. Took us straight to his desk, ignored my wife and started with trying to get all my contact info and seemed disturbed I wasn’t trading in my current vehicle. When I gave him what I was interested in (Explorer Platinum or ST) his response everything was going for MSRP and the ST was even going at a premium to list. Given his demeanour we decided Maclin didn’t need or want our business.. More

At first I had a positive experience with Ha Don’t bother stepping foot inside! The lack of professionalism and incompetency was almost unbearable. At first I had a positive experience with Hanna, the sales rep who was helping me with ordering a new truck. Shortly after ordering my sales rep left and her replacement barely spoke English. Every time I called and left a voice mail he would respond with an email that clearly was from google translate. Numerous calls to the sales manager, Steve, went unreturned until he called and mentioned if I removed some features it would speed up delivery. After agreeing to remove some features and no communication for 5 months, he reached out saying my truck was on its way. I had went to another dealership shortly after my first email from the non speaking sales rep and ordered my perfect truck….long story short I was driving my new truck when Steve phoned saying my watered down truck was in…. Lessened learned. Do not go to Maclin! I doubt you they even ordered the truck when I placed my order More
