Please be mindful when looking to purchase a car from this dealer. We checked out a car in person, later negotiated with Carter a final price via phone and headed straight back to the card yard excited to pick up our new car. Carter greeted us upon arrival and sat us in his office only to disappear, we were then greeted by Andy who advised us there was a misunderstanding and we were over promised, the price is as advertised and what we had negotiated with Carter was not on the table. There was no misunderstanding we had the offer via text from Carter. This company set us up with false promises, we decided not to go ahead with the car because the trust and relationship had then been ruined and who knows if they would lie to cover up anything else. I urge you to look elsewhere and save being disappointed and frustrated like us. More

Surprise surprise the car we drove 45 minutes to test drive just sold before we arrived. But no surprise that had a year older model for $5k more or a new model for $15k more. Typical bait and switch. We drive just sold before we arrived. But no surprise that had a year older model for $5k more or a new model for $15k more. Typical bait and switch. We walked out and will not buy from them. Shady sales tactics. More
I contacted Carter about a test drive on a pre-owned f150. He was great on the phone and answered some questions I had. He asked me about paying cash or financing and I told him this would be a cash dea f150. He was great on the phone and answered some questions I had. He asked me about paying cash or financing and I told him this would be a cash deal and we agreed to meet for a test drive the next day. Later that evening another sales rep called me to ask some questions, and again I told him this would be a cash deal. I arrived the next day and Carter and I went on a test drive. He was awesome and let me take the truck for as long as I needed to ensure it was the one. Again, we talked pricing and I told him I would make a cash offer, and he raised no red flags with that. I was ready to purchase the vehicle and that’s where everything went quickly down hill. Carter left and a financing person came in and attempted to sell me on a financing deal. I told him, as I said all along without issue from Maclin’s people, this is a cash deal. He continued to aggressively push the financing more saying he’ll give me a “deal on the truck to cover any interest incurred from financing”. Again, I said I had cash and was ready to purchase the truck for their price that day. He then started talking about the dealership going out of business and being unable to pay employees if they did cash deals - I’m unsure of how that’s relevant or my problem when I’m willing to pay their asking price in cash. I tell him again, all cash and I’ll take the truck today. He became very short with me and refused. Finally a third person comes-in - I’m assuming yet another finance person. He gives me the same odd story about the dealership making money (still unsure of how this is my problem). He tells me unless I trade in a vehicle or purchase an extended warranty, he will not sell me the truck in cash. Again, I told them I’m only interested in a straight across cash deal, and that I’d be happy to take my business elsewhere if that wasn’t ok. He refused and finally I left. I told them this was a cash deal from day one - right from when I booked the test drive the day before, and once they had me sold, they tried to push financing at who knows what interest rate. This dealership wasted my time and was all sorts of shady when it was time to talk money. If you want to purchase a vehicle cash, they will not sell it to you so don’t waste your time like I did. I went to Chev and purchased a similar vehicle for cash and drove it off the lot that day with no issue, as I’ve done with multiple other dealers in past. I will be reporting this experience to AMVIC. More

I’ve inquired about a used vehicle from this dealership and had gotten very quick response from them. Carter was very prompt and helpful throughout the whole experience. I went in to see the vehicle and we and had gotten very quick response from them. Carter was very prompt and helpful throughout the whole experience. I went in to see the vehicle and went through the approval process. Everything was great, BrendaLe the finance manager I’ve dealt with was also great. After the approval they informed me that they need to take the vehicle for inspection and detailing so it’s ready for pick. A couple of hours later, the service manager Paul gave me a call and said that they found some issues with the vehicle and it might take a week to know if it’s good.. I waited for a week for any updates whatsoever. I texted Paul and he got back to me ONCE to tell me he’s going to get an update. I didn’t hear anything after that. Texted him again, no response. Left a voicemail, no call back. This went on for more than a week and I never heard anything about the vehicle. I don’t understand why they couldn’t give me any information at all or even have the decency to give me a call. When I went to the dealership to get my deposit back and cancel the vehicle i did not even get any explanation and all they could give me was “I’m so sorry about that” More
Although the service consultants are nice, they are fleecing you blind!! I was sold "new" tires but they were likely from a sales demo I was informed because if a tire is actually brand new it will ha fleecing you blind!! I was sold "new" tires but they were likely from a sales demo I was informed because if a tire is actually brand new it will have the little "hairs" on it...well it didn't have a single one, AND when they removed the old tires and mounted the "new" ones, the machine completely chipped the chrome from the edges of my rims....which now makes the tires leak. I was told they use a "touchless" machine, however, I was witness to a call on speaker phone to the service dept asking if they had this touchless machine and they of course DO NOT, they still have the regular machines. So they are complete liars. Considering a small claims law suit....I feel like I was xx'd because I'm a female. More
Have been a customer for many years at Maclin Ford . Including my purchase of vehicles and people I have referred I was told I had the status of a promoter ( I believe 6 plus vehicle purchases!) Initi Including my purchase of vehicles and people I have referred I was told I had the status of a promoter ( I believe 6 plus vehicle purchases!) Initially when I dealt with the McCullough family the original owners I was treated in high regard as I was a family friend. In return I sent them quite a number of referrals.Since then not such a positive feeling ! ? I have bought two more vehicles since then apparently each one with a different owner. Apparently I had grossly overpaid for both of ( my bad as a long term customer I had come to trust I would be treated in a respectful fair manner)Vehicles when I went to trade them in told they were in the many many dollars in the red finance and value wise ! ? Unless they change there perspective I will be moving on. Chatting with some employees and asking them why things have they commented to me the the KIDS HAVE TAKEN OVER THE INSTITUTION referring to ownership. My suggestion is for them to clean up their act and get back to holding the customers as valuable entities. More
My wife found a 2015 Focus with 23,000 km. We drove one night from Red Deer to go look at it. The car had just come in and was still dirty because it hadn't been detailed yet or been through an inspection. My wife was told by text from Robyn that the car was free of accidents. A clean carfax. Went for a test drive with Sarbdeep. This guy was decent, polite, and a real person. Not a slimy sales guy. We had a couple questions and he found the answers out. During the test drive when the brakes would engage, it sounded like metal on metal. You could feel it in the car. Got back and I checked it over quickly. Brake issues, valve cover seal, tps sensor was going off due to a low tire and the front bumper was crunched from a curb. Was told it would all be repaired for the purchaser. Told them if they repair those items then I would purchase it. They told me that they would not sell it to me unless I financed it because they get a kick back. This irritated us because we had arranged to pay for the vehicle ourselves. Finally I said fine, finance it and we'll pay it off quickly. At this point, my wife is looking at the Carfax and notices that it does have two claims. One for hail, one for a collision. As well as an open recall. Not cool. Both claims were a couple grand each which is not a lot of damage these days so we brushed it off. Gave our info, wrote up the offer to purchase and we drove back to Red Deer. The next day I received a call that I was approved for financing.....big surprise.... The money is in my account. The interesting part is, I tried calling Dave, the manager cheese ball sales guy that has a dashhound roaming around him in this professional atmosphere like it's a therapy dog. The guy ghosts me. Can’t get an answer back after I tell him the whole price for the car should include the "document fee" which is $700. AMVIC’s policy is that this fee has to be included in the purchase price, and the fee you’re supposed to see is only $6.25. He told me it was all taxes and AMVIC’s fee. So my wife checked the ad on autotrader and they have increased the price of the car by $1000 and will not return our calls. Please check out BBB, Google, and other reviews about this dealership. They have no problem running your credit, wasting your time, and ghosting you. I have to put this out there - Sarbdeep was pleasant to deal with. He did not have the cheesy sales guy tactics like Dave did. The receptionist, Curra, was really nice. We had our 4 year old with us and she played soccer with him, got him set up with balloons and cake, and that was great while we were trying to buy a car from a dealership that is not in the business of selling cars apparently.
