Dropped my vehicle off on Monday morning just after 7:00am for a standard oil change service, Extremely disappointed with the service I received here. Dropped my vehicle off on Monday morning just after 7:00am for a standard oil change service, and was contacted to say I also needed a wheel alignment. When I went to pick up my vehicle at 4:30pm I waited until 5:15pm at which point I was informed the wheel alignment had not been performed because a camber kit needed to be ordered. I had to follow up with the dealership the next day to find out what the problem was in performing the wheel alignment - why did I need a kit vs. making the required adjustments? I was told the rear of a Ford Escape can’t be adjusted so I need the control arms replaced (roughly $370 worth of parts and work). Seemed suspicious so I followed up with another dealership and they informed me that they’d be able to perform the required alignment for $180, no parts required. In any case I’m still waiting to hear back from Maclin as to why I need the control arms replaced - are the ones on my vehicle damaged? They seem unwilling or unable to provide me with an adequate technical explanation as to why I require this service. Quite frankly I’m not sure I needed an alignment in the first place. More
