I was in the market for a new Kia Optima SXL; however, I have always found dealing with car salesmen and buying a new car to be a very stressful exper I was in the market for a new Kia Optima SXL; however, I have always found dealing with car salesmen and buying a new car to be a very stressful experience and I always left feeling like I'd been ripped off and overpaid. Because of this, I did a lot of research beforehand so I knew the difference between a good deal and a bad deal and I came prepared with a reasonable offer that would not offend. I contacted Jimmy via text and told him that I would be buying a new car from someone this Saturday and presented my offer. There was no hesitation on his part and said he would present it to his Sales Manager (Aidin) immediately, and within five minutes the deal was done without even having met them in person. I have bought many vehicles in my lifetime, but this was the best car buying experience I have ever had!! Really!! The whole team was amazing from Jimmy in sales, to Andrew in finance, and to Aidin (the Rock Star) heading up the team, he truly is a man of his word and a really nice guy to boot...you will feel like you're dealing with an old friend. Based on the build quality of the Rio and the quality of service we received when purchasing it we didn't hesitate to purchase a second vehicle from Kia Richmond. Before we spend thousands on any vehicle we make sure we thoroughly research each one using various online media reviews, user reviews, spreadsheets, word of mouth and of course visits to dealerships and test drives. In our well informed opinion, once you compare the quality, features and prices of Kia's offerings versus other manufacturers, even some of the luxury brands, Kia provides the best value for your money. For those of you who are shopping for a new car and still have the old impression that Kia builds sub par vehicles, do yourself a favor and go visit a Kia dealership. See what they have to offer and how it compares to other car brands. Just start with that and see where it leads. It was enough to change our impression. Our product advisor for the Sorento purchase was Ian McIntosh. We made three separate visits to the Richmond dealership during the Sorento purchase process. First visit: We're just looking. Second visit: Test drive. Third visit: OK let's negotiate! During the entire process Ian was friendly, helpful and personable. There was never any pressure to buy TODAY. Both my wife and I were given an opportunity for a lengthy test drive around the neighbourhood. Ian took his time with us and we never felt rushed. Even after our first "just looking" visit with Ian, he understood that we weren't quite ready to purchase just yet and we needed time to ponder. He mentioned to contact him if we ever had any questions. This gave us a very good impression of Ian. We were treated quite diffrently at other non-Kia dealerships where once we told the sales person that we were just looking and not ready to buy today, you could clearly see the dissapointment in their facial expressions and their attitude. This sort of behavior does not promote the growth of "future" potential customers very well and even if we did decide to purchase from that other non-Kia dealership we would not be dealing with that same sales person. The negotiation process can always be somewhat tedious at times but it went well. In the end we feel we paid a very fair price for our new Sorento. We would not hesitate to recommend Ian and Kia Richmond to others. More
