UNKEPT PROMISES - BUYERS BEWARE Recently, I went to pick up my 'new' 2017 Sportage at Kia on Hunt. I was looking forward to trading in my 2013 Sportage, with the excitement of p Recently, I went to pick up my 'new' 2017 Sportage at Kia on Hunt. I was looking forward to trading in my 2013 Sportage, with the excitement of picking up the new one. Unfortunately, my transaction did not go as smoothly as anticipated, and I feel it necessary to share my experience with others who may be considering purchasing at this dealership. When I first entered the showroom, I was courteously greeted by one of the sales rep, Nour Zeitouni. We discussed what I was looking for, and being a current owner of a Sportage, my only stipulations were remote starter and AWD. I was immediately shown and test drove a 'rental' with 23,500km. We negotiated price and trade-in, (essentially your guys got your asking price and I got about $3K less than I was hoping on the trade-in.) Regardless, we came to agreement on the price and I bought the vehicle. I signed the papers with your finance manager, (who could use a course on customer courtesy, but that is a separate matter), payed a downpayment and arranged to meet Nour after the weekend to pick up the vehicle. I arrived as scheduled for pick-up and was directed into the garage so my car plates could be mounted. During that time, Nour gave me the new keys. When I asked for the remote starter, Nour explained to me that for some reason there were no remote starters on-site, but that he had one on order and it would be arriving Wed for me to pick-up. No problem. I could get it then. As an aside, I noted that the gas tank on my new vehicle was only half filled, but apparently that is "company policy". Used vehicles only merit a complimentary half tank. I left my trade-in vehicle with a full tank. We proceeded inside the showroom to complete the final paperwork. It was only then that I was informed that this vehicle did not come with a remote starter! Even though we had discussed the starter being a priority for me right from the very beginning. Even though we had just discussed the remote being ordered, in the garage moments before. Somehow the vehicle now had no remote. Nour, my sales rep seemed pretty sure it was to be included with the vehicle. After all, he specifically told me he had one on order coming in on Wednesday. I certainly understood it was included. Apparently, I was wrong! The only explanation given to me was simply that it had not been singularly specified and noted in the sales agreement. I thought this would be considered simply a case of accidental omission/human error, that could be easily remedied. I mean it was our intent (both the sales representative and myself) that the remote was to be included. However, I was flatly told by the used car manager, Tony Chalhoub that there was absolutely nothing that KIA could do for me. I was welcome on the otherhand to have one installed at my expense. I wrote to Mr. Crete, General Manager of KIA on Hunt Club, requesting his assistance. A few days later, I received a call from Nour, stating that his General Manager had an offer for me. Kia would split the $480 cost for a remote starter to be installed. In return I was to provide Kia on Hunt Club a 5-star review! I could not in good conscience accept this offer. I was promised a starter and negotiated my purchase based on this understanding. I was not prepared to pay for half of what was to be included in the first place. And I certainly can not provide a 5-star review for that which I find to be an appalling practise. As an aside, I note with interest that my trade-in (which was still under warranty) is now listed at approximately $3000 more than I was credited with. I can live with that reality. I agreed to this price. Shame they could not honour their own word, and squeeze the $480 out of the tidy little profit they are making on my trade-in. Bottom line, ..... may sure everything, EVERYTHING is included in writing, and do NOT take a verbal promise as being anything but hot air blown your way to falsely nail down a deal that could easily go sour. More

We were just popping in to get a closer look at a few cars we had interest in, the Rondo/Sportage/Soul. We were greeted by Nour as we looked through the showroom. We did our introductions and we were off on our first new car buying experience. Nour was fantastic, he has an amazing personality and a wonderful ability to understand your needs and concerns, he treated us with respect and made us feel more like friends than just a client off the street. He took us around and discussed what we were looking for out of a new vehicle. After a few minutes we were sitting in vehicles trying to figure out what fit me well as I'm quite tall. Nour was explaining the standard equipment and available options the various models. We decided that the 2016 Soul seemed the best fit for us. We took a test drive and discussed further as we were on the road, we decided that the EX may be the right model for us and determined looked at the inventory when we got back. After going forward with the deal, I did further research online and upsold ourselves to the EX+ which a few other creature features like backup camera, leather accents, LED lighting and room rails to finish out the look. Every step of the way Nour was there to answer questions and concerns we had, he was so helpful even outside his scheduled hours getting back to me via email or text. We had wonderful dealings with Hassan the finance manager as well. Both Nour and Hassan made this a very hassle free experience. I would highly recommend going to check out Kia on Hunt Club and speaking with Nour if your in the market for a new vehicle. More
