Got a great deal on my trade in but that's where it stopped These guys are clowns and know nothing about cars or how to sell them when I contacted them last year about a Ford Edge they asked me to come down and These guys are clowns and know nothing about cars or how to sell them when I contacted them last year about a Ford Edge they asked me to come down and see what they could do so I agreed when I got there he sales guy tired to show me some ford escapes not sure why, obviously I had no interested in this as I was trading in a 2013 fully loaded Dodge Journey then he showed me a basic Ford Edge with no touch screen or anything eventually he showed me fully loaded edge quite the price difference from the previous two veichiles he tried to show me. No idea why a sales guy would show me things I had no interest in and for a lower price than what I was willing to spend. After taking nearly 3 hours to make a deal which I was happy with of course then I went to see the finance guy and man was he awful he got really aggressive when I didn't take any of the extra protection plans and some how was trying to charge 15000 for all the extra plans like how's that possible and who would pay that. He really didnt like that I wasn't interested after getting aggressive and keeping us for another 2 hours we signed the papers and left as the my were closing. We came back the next day and made an appointment to collect the SUV at 4pm. When we got there they couldn't find the sales guy after 30mins he shows up his bosses were slightly abusive to him o and surprise the Edge wasn't cleaned and had no gas he rushed off to some valet place as there's was closed another two hours had passed. Once he got back he couldn't even find a screwdriver to take to licence plate off our journey to our on the new one all in all we left the dealership at around 8.30 that night a Total of 9.5 hours to buy a vehicle. Then we get home and realised the glass on the touch screen was stracthed, he also told me over and over again that it was a v6 turned it it was the 2.0 ecoboost. STAY AWAY FROM THESE CLOWNS AND GO SOME WHERE BETTER!!!!! A YEAR ON AND I TRADED MY 2016 FOR A HIGHER SPEC 2017 EDGE FOR LESS PAYMENTS AND FROM A BETTER DEALERSHIP THAN THESE CLOWNS. More
Deceptive and Manipulative Tactics - AVOID!! Don't know where to start. One of the most frustrating and downright awful experiences I've had in dealing with a dealership involving a trade-in. W Don't know where to start. One of the most frustrating and downright awful experiences I've had in dealing with a dealership involving a trade-in. Went to GoAuto to get a Grand Cherokee Summit... the one guy (Lee) all the sudden stopped responding after all my credit approval and car interests were established. I said I was interested in Car A, B, and C, he then started throwing random Car X and Car Y as options?!? I was confused why all the sudden cars I'm not interested in are getting pushed on me?! Then he stopped responding!!! Awesome. So I emailed the General Manager (Michael) who responded right away... then... didn't respond?!? Finally I let the VP (Ashley) know and he was amazing, even did a follow up, got someone on it right away.. but by this time the vehicle I was interested in was gone?!!! ugh.. xxx?! So now I'm dealing with Chris Bitea who seems pleasant at first, honest, transparent, not giving the uncomfortable salesmen vibe. He puts me in a different Grand Cherokee Summit and says this one was approved for me based on my credit profile and the information I gave Lee and Corina regarding my payment limits. Then they ask to evaluate my trade. My BMW (which has two sets of tires) now needs 4 new tires (these are all less than 8mo old) and a complete brake job requiring $5000 of work. The parts for BMW brakes total $600... you can get an entire new set of wheels & tires from BMW for $2400.... so how on earth does a brake job and new tires cost $5000. They could have just swapped the winters on, called it a day, and had Canadian Tire do the brakes for $800? This is where the sales xx starts!!! They are going to talk to you like you're an idiot, then make it all sound reasonable and valid. Then they'll tell you about their $350 inspection and a $250 detail. I spend $40 on a detail that's better than what the dealership provides, and an inspection at a Jeep dealership costs $160?? So yes, Kentwood inflates, exaggerates, and manipulates prices to achieve whatever deceptive point they are trying to make. I was told the "cost" of their vehicle, the amount THEY SPENT on the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit to " recondition"with 45k kms was $37k kms. I said there is no way... the car was a rental and cosmetically in bad shape, no paint touch ups were even attempted, the bumper was falling off, body lines weren't symmetrical, the oil hadn't been changed and the adaptive cruise control system didn't work.. NO RECONDITIONING had occurred... just some polish and shiny soap to make it look cosmetically conditioned. So Chris tells me that the black book value is $40k, I disagreed vehemently. He pulls out the book... and embarrassedly shows my how an EXTRA CLEAN Jeep Summit would be $40k but the vehicle they were selling... black book was actually $35k as it was below average. So more cheesy and lame sales tactics continued to occur. THEY ARE GOING TO TALK A LOT ABOUT THE "COST".. they will show you a piece of paper and try to convince you that this "COST" value is what they paid for the vehicle with any fictitious "reconditioning" that may have occurred... when you ask about reconditioning, they'll say they don't know what's been done. When you ask how much the car was purchased for at auction, they again will say they don't know. So they buy this Jeep at auction for $22000, enter it into the computer as a cost of $38000 and VOILA the Jeep's cost is now $38k. THESE COST FIGURES ARE FICTITIOUS. Ask to see what the car is selling for at auction, for this is what they paid for it.. They lie, they're deceptive and manipulative. They pay a fraction of this COST value they create by getting the vehicles from Adesa auctions. Kentwood Ford is awful. I'll never go anywhere near a GoAuto store, I would highly advise you all to boycott these low-ball, shady, and manipulative tactics used car sales guys in particular are notorious for. Toyota has TrueValue pricing, I believe Honda has started doing this as well. It's 2017 and we have to put up with the same pathetic song and dance that these used car liars have pushed on us for years. Hope this helps. Dr. M. More
