He was patient (as she was a first time buyer), professional, NON-AGRESSIVE (huge points for that) and just an overall pleasure to do business with. When I decided to look for a vehicle Dec 2015, I went to see Jason and he actually listen to my vehicle needs and showed me without pressure a selection on the lot. If my service and repair needs are handled as nicely as my purchase need was, there will be no need for me to go anywhere else but Johnbear for future vehicles. 5 stars for Jason. More
Disappointing / unnecessary service Horrible experience at John Bear in September 2015 in St. Catharines, ON. A 2007 Pontiac G6 with 70,072 km was brought in for a leaking coolant cros Horrible experience at John Bear in September 2015 in St. Catharines, ON. A 2007 Pontiac G6 with 70,072 km was brought in for a leaking coolant crossover manitfold. The issue was resolved - however it is in my opinion they the service department (Jay Pearson is the service manager) took complete advantage of my mother who has zero experience with car repairs. The original issue was fixed - however upon servicing the car John Bear found it necessary to replace front Links and both right and left stabilizer links. The front lower ball joint was also claimed to have been worn out and was replaced as well. In addition - BOTH front and rear brakes were replaced. (pads and rotors) Rear calipers were also replaced. Further to this ignition wires, spark plugs a motor vac power carbon cleaning service was performed followed by an engine decarbonization service. The bill was $4,987.64 CAD (including taxes numerous miscellaneous fees). Upon learning my mother paid for such a ridiculous service - I contacted Jay Pearson - and forwarded him a link to John Bear's website which indicated a "promotion" on a brake job - my mother was refunded $240. What makes this experience even more difficult to swallow is the fact I had her car services at a reputable garage in Toronto (backed by Car Help Canada) 7 months prior (and at 63,500 km) where a tune up was performed / tires rotated and brakes inspected. I brought this to Jay Pearson's attention - however he vowed they never replaced any parts that weren't required. I disagree and we will no longer go to this dealership for service. More

Don't buy a GM.... And don't buy from this lot!!! I am not going to go into full detail, because in just 5 months, we have had so many problems with this car, I could write a novel. To sum it up, it was a 2010 Buick Enclave, that has been an absolute LEMON!!!!! And the dealership has been so shady. They have not honoured their word the way that they should have. And any dealership that can sell a car this bad, without a conscious is not someone I would trust. I was warned against GM before we bought... But we didn't listen. I really wish we had, it would have saved us tens of thousands of dollars. Please don't make the same mistake we did!!! More

My fiancee and I were purchasing our first vehicle. We were nervous at first. But once we stepped onto the John Bear property (333 Lake St, St Catharines), we knew this was the place where we would purcha were nervous at first. But once we stepped onto the John Bear property (333 Lake St, St Catharines), we knew this was the place where we would purchase our vehicle. Now that we had decided where we were going to buy, the next decision to be made was, what vehicle. This was the fun part. Our sales associate, Mike Lavallee was a major help in our decision process. He took into account our financial situation, what the car would be utilized for, and fuel efficiency. That being said, after looking at several vehicles, he opened the door to the Chevrolet Cruze. At that moment, my fiancee and I knew it was the ONE! After choosing the vehicle, the next step was to get financing. This is where we met the lovely Marianne. She was the business manager for John Bear, and helped us through the financing process. The process that is most stressful, turned out to be just as fun as choosing the vehicle. We were so comfortable through the entire process, knowing and feeling that nothing was forced, no sales pressure, and most of all, we felt at home. This may be our first vehicle, and our first time going through such an investment, but we wouldn't have chosen to do anything differently. And certainly not with a different dealer. I have been shopping around for some time and I responded quickly to the ad on the internet as I believed the car being sold represented great value. Upon seeing and test driving the car, I soon realized I did not make a mistake. During the transaction, my wife and I were impressed with Jermey's honesty, integrity, and straightforward approach to selling. The concerns that we did have on the vehicle were quickly addressed and we were most impressed with the manner in which they were handled. Meeting the other members of the team provided us with sense of trust and professionalism that we have not been accustomed to from previous car purchases.
