the brake service that was recommended is not to replace the pads, but rather to lubricate the slides and contact points so as to prevent brakes wearing prematurely or unevenly. We provide a caution indication on the vehicle report to provide time to prepare for when the pads actually do require replacing (Ford recommends at mm or less to replace pads). Much like a yellow light on a traffic light will give give warning of imminent change to red. It is not our intention to scare people, but rather provide information. We apologize if this information was misconstrued.

Good Afternoon I had a chance to review your service work order. I apologise that the 'tires for life ' program wasn't clearly explained to you. You should have received a pamphlet outlining the program at the time you purchased your vehicle. To clarify, the 'tires for life ' program is 100% FREE of charge with only a few requirements to remain enrolled. 1.Your vehicle must have 100% of the specified scheduled maintenance listed performed at our service facility. 2. The program doesn't cover abnormal wear caused by improper inflation or worn or damaged front end components. 3.The tires need to have reached a minimum tread depth of 3/32 before replacement, at which point they would qualify to be replaced under the program. Upon reviewing your inspection it was noted that there was still 5/32 or greater remaining. The replacement of the inner tie rod end is a very labor intensive job requiring the partial lowering of the sub frame for access to the steering rack to allow for the component replacement. If you would like I'm happy to review further with you, as well I can provide you a copy of the tires for life brochure you should have received at the time you purchased your Edge I can be reached at jlane@freedomfordsales.com or 462-7575 thanks Jason
