Mr. Birch, we sincerely apologize for the confusion regarding your service visit. In reviewing your invoice it seems there was some miscommunication in how the pricing was relayed to you. Firstly, we would have had to do the diagnosis to determine what was the actual cause of the concern for the heater so that we could provide you with an estimate, this was the $165.00 charge. the repairs to install the heater resistor was $74.98 in labor, and the part was $54.48. The charges for the labor times are taken from an industry established labor guide. We want to ensure you are satisfied with our service and would be willing to offer you a credit in our service department equivalent to the total for the diagnosis charge of $165.00 Please contact the Service Manager if you would like to take advantage of the offer. Once again please accept our apology for the miscommunication. Thank you

We sincerely apologize for the delay in completing the servicing. In the interest of your satisfaction we would be happy to perform the brake service as suggested for your vehicle at no cost. The brake servicing is not covered under the maintenance plan by Ford as this is something that is affected by regional environmental conditions and is only suggested as conditions dictate. This is suggested to ensure brake components do not wear prematurely or unevenly due to the possibility of corrosion affecting brake caliper slides.

This truck should not need a brake service after only 10K km and less than 12 months. Your comment on the service report that the Brake pads are down to 5 mm and require caution only goes to scare the family into the fact that the truck brakes are unsafe and must be replaced, in my experience 5 mm is probably 40 % linning left and as I drive about 10k a year that gives me a minimum of three years driving. Don't tell me you don't know this truck as you have serviced it since it was new and its covered with 7 year extended warrenty and the 5 year service plan including tires for life. Also last year when the wheels and tires went to the tire warehouse for storage,my work order included serial numbers of all four wheels, this year it just states that I have paid for 6 months storage, but no record of the tire serial numbers. The time taken to do the paper work should have included these numbers for future reference.

the brake service that was recommended is not to replace the pads, but rather to lubricate the slides and contact points so as to prevent brakes wearing prematurely or unevenly. We provide a caution indication on the vehicle report to provide time to prepare for when the pads actually do require replacing (Ford recommends at mm or less to replace pads). Much like a yellow light on a traffic light will give give warning of imminent change to red. It is not our intention to scare people, but rather provide information. We apologize if this information was misconstrued.
