I have been having a Nightmare of a time with Derrick Dodge In Edmonton Alberta. I went in on February 21 2024 for a Charger that they had listed on their website that fit in my budget ($17-$20K). The Dodge In Edmonton Alberta. I went in on February 21 2024 for a Charger that they had listed on their website that fit in my budget ($17-$20K). The sales guy (Stephen) went in the back and came back and told me that then inspection report JUST came in and there was approximately $20K in repairs to be made, and he would have to sell it to me "AS IS" so he talked me out of the car I wanted, I asked for a Jeep Wrangler or a Charger... and I added it HAS to have command start, that is a deal breaker. He brought in a fob for a Hyundai Sonata with 2 other fobs and said, its got command start! When I got home, I noticed the command start didn't work, 4 days later it wouldn't start at all. I contacted the salesman (as that is what his text to me said to do) and had it towed into the dealership. I explained The car had all the power to lights, windshield wipers and all that, and jumping it did nothing. A few days later I get a call from service and said my car was fixed and ready. I went in and they changed the battery, the bill said that jumping the vehicle started the vehicle (which it did not) and that they changed the batteries in my fobs... I tried command start right there and nothing happened... I looked at the service people and they shrugged and said "my guess is its not hooked up" and then thanked me for my business and walked away... I took the car home and the starting problem happened one more time. the temp warmed up and no further problems. Fast forward 9 months later and its -7 and the car wont start. if its plugged in it will start just fine in -40, but if not plugged in at -5 it will not start or I have to start it every 3 hours to make sure it will start. I bring it back in and they say "we cant recreate the problem so its not a problem" and they didn't even look at the command start issue. (there is no command start, I was lied to) I go and talk to the GM and he says "can i get you into a more reliable car? will that make you happy?" i said "I just want my car fixed. but if you can get me into a charger or a jeep, I guess so." so i reluctantly see what they have to offer me... i said same thing i said 9 months ago... a Jeep Wrangler or a Charger, and command start is a must! he introduces me to a salesperson and we go and sit down, she goes to the back and drives up a Hyundai elantra (not a jeep OR a charger) and comes in and sits down and starts talking about the Elantra. I say, nice, what about the Dodge Rebel that is on your site. she says that costs more I was looking at the two vehicles on my phone Elantra=26K Rebel-24K. she starts doing "mock deals" and asks me about payments, I say I'm paying $270 BW and I want the same. She says with $1000 down she gives me two numbers $377 BW or $333 BW. I'm like, id take the lower one, and she asks me to initial it... I'm like what is going on... she takes me to finance and they run my credit immediately and take me to the interact machine... and he says its just to hold the vehicle... they take the $1000 and he starts asking banks for quotes for a loan, I'm confused as I thought we were doing Mock stuff.... keep in mind nobody offered me anything for my car. Turns out, they just picked a number that they decided they were going to give me for my car and I didn't even get a choice and they didn't even disclose it to me. Finally I'm like "Hold on a minute! I just wanted my car fixed! refund me the $1000 and cancel this! I didn't want any of this at all. You are trying to sell me a car that you want to sell and not a car that I want to buy!" turns out they were in the end stages of buying my car at about $10,000 less then I bought it from them 9 months earlier, ($500 less then the lowest selling car in Canada) and selling me a car i didn't even want doubling my current loan... there is more but I'm at my word cap. in short, Good Luck if you choose Derrick Dodge. ***Update***. Manager at Derrick Dodge has agreed to install a block heater at no cost. Dodge Charger not as advertised on dealer website. Website window stic Manager at Derrick Dodge has agreed to install a block heater at no cost. Dodge Charger not as advertised on dealer website. Website window sticker said Charger had an engine block heater. Apparently car was not as advertised. Instillation of an engine block heater is over $1000.00. In Alberta a block heater is not optional item, its required. Disappointed no one from Dodge has contacted me about this issue. ***Update***. I feel a little ripped off, overall the truck we bought is good and we ultimately like our vehicle. It was my first time purchasing a vehicle and next time I am going to be a little more ruthless about it. is good and we ultimately like our vehicle. It was my first time purchasing a vehicle and next time I am going to be a little more ruthless about it. There is still problems with this transaction. We had been told that the car would be fully serviced before sale to us and it looks like it did not happen. We bought the truck in March 2024 with 87,905 KM being told it was fully serviced (I specifically remember asking about both the oil & filters). Went to have it serviced at 89,894 KM on July 2024 before a road trip and were a little disappointed to find out that we had to do a full oil service and the filters had to be replaced (like they had not been replaced for years). I am unsure of what happened here but, if it was actually serviced at Derrick Dodge at purchase we should not need that level of servicing after 2,000KM (or a little over 4 months). When we asked about this we have never gotten a resolution despite emailing the Sales Rep, Business Manager, and service centre for months (I finally gave up because obviously they do not care). We had to take it in because an outlet and the Air Conditioning (AC) was not working since we had bought it (something realized later during the hot summer months). They did throw in a lining cover for the truck bed which is nice, but they half did it and did not get rid of the rust before putting it down making it an expensive fix at some point down the line which I am not stoked on. The Warranty they sell may not cover everything, a hard truth we discovered. I would do you research before signing or agreeing to anything. (Actually it may be worth just walking that over to the Service Centre and asking what they believe is the best, try to get an unbiased opinion). Their Service Centre does good work and is friendly, although they do not provide breakdowns of why certain things are included in the warranty and why they are not. This breakdown would be helpful to understand why I have to pay for something I believe should be covered by warranty. Overall I like the truck and it is decent condition but overall I feel like the dealership did not fix some obvious problems and blatantly lied when they said it was serviced. Next time I will take the vehicle to another mechanic and get a full inspection done so I can get the dealership to deal with all of these problems beforehand. More

We live 1200 km away from the dealership, but we still managed to go from making first contact via online chat to driving our new vehicle off the lot in less than a week (the only way to buy a new vehicle managed to go from making first contact via online chat to driving our new vehicle off the lot in less than a week (the only way to buy a new vehicle as far as we're concerned!) Brennan (sales) and Vince/Jerry (finance) provided us with excellent service. They were very friendly, knowledgeable and most helpful! They were in constant contact with us throughout the process and managed to get us financed for the vehicle we wanted despite our not so great credit ratings. This is the second vehicle we purchased from Derrick Dodge (our first was in 2017) - and who knows someday maybe we'll get a 3rd (health and wealth willing). Special thanks to the gentleman (employee name unknown) that cleaned up after our "sick" yorkie - we were so tired from our drive and distracted with the new van that I don't think we properly thanked you on scene ♥ More
Made plans to buy a car off Derrick Dodge through Douglas Nicol. I live 3 and half hours from the dealership . A hour before I got there he called to say they sold the car! I believe the car was sold way bef Nicol. I live 3 and half hours from the dealership . A hour before I got there he called to say they sold the car! I believe the car was sold way before then and Totally cat fished me in the dealership. Then I got low balled on my trade in. Another dealership gave me $5000 more than what these clowns offered. I Also tried to deal with a salesman Navdeep on marketplace a month before this he hardly responded to any of my questions I thought maybe it’s because I’m a woman trying to buy a sports car so I asked my husband to reach out and he answered all my husbands questions in a timely manner. I then refused to buy off him! I also got random messages from him at strange times saying Hey Bro! So unprofessional. I did speak to a manager there named Ryan Mcnish seem very professional and great to talk to maybe he should give some of the sales team some lesson’s!! I will never buy off these salesmen and have a hard time buying off a dealership with such unprofessional salesmen. This dealership definitely made my Car shopping experience very stress full. But I’m happy to say I found a great Hell cat at a different dealership that made my experience very enjoyable!! Keep shopping people there’s more than one dealership around! More
