They'll sell you a car, but when it comes to servicing it I own a 2009 GMC 2500HD Duramax, a 2005 Chevrolet 2500HD Duramax and a 2008 Pontiac Torrent GXP, my first experience is with the 2005 Duramax. 2005 I own a 2009 GMC 2500HD Duramax, a 2005 Chevrolet 2500HD Duramax and a 2008 Pontiac Torrent GXP, my first experience is with the 2005 Duramax. 2005 Duramax Experience: I took this vehicle into Davis to have it diagnosed after coolant had been spitting out of the overflow, showing signs of either a blown head gasket or a cracked EGR cooler, I'm no mechanic, but i am mechanically inclined and wanted a professionals opinion. Within an hour they had called to inform me that the head gaskets were blown, and it would require nearly $8000.00 worth of work, I told them I'll come and pay the diagnostic fee and take it elsewhere to have a second opinion done on it. I took the vehicle to another shop and behold!! the actual problem with a cracked EGR cooler which cost me around $500 to fix. They tried to bend me over with the head gaskets. 2009 Duramax Experience: Since I bought the truck there has always been an issue with the radio crackling when its cold, I work up north and don't have much time to bring it in. When my job led me to have flights instead of driving, I booked the truck in under extended warranty, to have them take a look. I knew the problem wasn't the speakers, and I mentioned that. 2 weeks pass while I'm working, the dealer phones me and says that the extended warranty doesn't cover the radio, I called their bluff when i arrived home and spoke with the GM of the dealer, after that they covered it. BUT instead of properly diagnosing the problem and listening to my suggestions, they replaced the speaker, which obviously didn't fix the problem. I drive the truck another week, send it back in when I go back to work and tell them to fix it again, I receive a call at work, they won't cover the work under warranty, i call their bluff again, got it covered. My suggestion was that there was a faulty ground wire causing interference between the alternator and the radio, did they listed to my suggestion? NO. They order in the parts needed, tell me the truck will be ready for when i get home, is it ready when I get home? NO. They proceed to replace the Bose amplifier, which helped a little bit, but didn't fix the whole problem, so I take it in again, now they say they can't replicate the issue, so i drag the service manager out there when I fire up the truck, he can clearly hear the issue. I leave it there again for another rotation at work, is the truck fixed? NO. So now i have a truck with the same problem, I gave up on it and just deal with it, I'll take it somewhere else when i have time and submit the bill to them, I wonder how they'll react to that. 2008 Torrent Experience: The car had been running a little rough, 30kph @ 1500rpm there was an obvious stutter in the engine, did a little research, found out the timing chains on the 3.6 engines are notorious for stretching, causing rough idle and reduced performance. Took the car to OK Tire, they said take it to GM because its not a fun job, which is understandable. A week goes by, haven't heard anything about the car, so I call and ask whats going on, they didn't even know the car was there! I hear a sob story about someone being in the hospital blah blah blah, maybe there should be better communication? Another week goes by, still no word on the car, so i call again, they forgot the car was there again, now theres a "big rush" put on the job, I call bull. I go into the dealership and ask whats going on, I get the good ol "parts just got in and they're starting work on it today" story, amazingly they did, and had it done the next day. So i go to pick up the car, read through all the paperwork and that it had been road tested etc. hop in the car and the dash is lit up like a christmas tree, I'm pretty sure there was no road test. So i clear all the codes thinking they might have just forgot, take it for a drive down the highway, shut it off. Start it, drive back home, shut it off, start it up and boom, the engine lights is on again. I scan the car, 5 codes all related to the timing chain, more codes then it went in with, I'm betting the timing is out 1 or 2 teeth. I take the car back to the dealership, pretty mad but calm, book it in, and someone decides it would be a good idea to tell me i should upgrade the car, so I turn around and say "maybe you should learn how to ******* fix the thing before trying to sell me another one", she walks away. They were nice enough to give me a rental this time, who knows how long it will sit in there this time. Pretty much the last straw with this place, honest to god this dealership could be the worst in AB. As it says in the title, they'll gladly sell you a car, but when it comes to servicing it, good luck. I will not add any employee names as it isn't their fault, and the quality of service I received from them was excellent, when the communication throughout the dealership was there. More
Great all around experience As a first time brand new car buyer, I walked in not knowing what to expect. Having a sales back ground, everyone knows the "used car type sales guy". As a first time brand new car buyer, I walked in not knowing what to expect. Having a sales back ground, everyone knows the "used car type sales guy". But that wasn't the case, Jordan, Rick, and Josee put me at ease in making a great purchase. From start to finish, I could not be happier with all the answers and help they provided. More

They worked with me to find a vehicle. Did not get the one I wanted but they made sure I did not go without a option and found a vehicle that I could get into. The patients these two people had were great. In the end I got into a vehicle of my choice with the help. I will recommend to anyone to go here. I will also be coming back when my wife is ready to get into a newer vehicle. Thank you so much. And as the saying goes. " I'll Be Back". Dustin Burke More

They went above and beyond It's a Monday a week before Xmas and I walk into the dealership, knowing I'm buying a 2015 Canyon. After laying it on the table and telling Geoff he It's a Monday a week before Xmas and I walk into the dealership, knowing I'm buying a 2015 Canyon. After laying it on the table and telling Geoff he can sell me my truck if he: - Gets me a price I deem fair - Delivers the vehicle by the coming Friday end of business - and doesn't make me feel like hitting him Geoff met all objectives. It may not sound like much, but a few add-ons to the vehicle along with getting it shipped from northern Alberta made the challenge worthy of their service. They had the truck delivered with box liner, 3m and box cover all in place in less than 4 days. Since then, I've dealt with the service department and numerous other folks at Davis, and at no point did I get that feeling deep under my skin that I got when dealing with other dealerships... that itchy feeling that makes me want to run away! I never felt pressured, I never felt patronized and I never felt like they weren't looking after my interests instead of their own. Thanks ... and yah.. the 2015 Canyon ROCKS! More
