Timing Belt Could Have Killed Us Last summer we got our timing belt replaced, everything seemed to be going well until last November. They didn't put the timing belt on properly and it caused to burn a hole in the plastic cover. My step-dad said it could have blown up and killed us and when we took it the mechanic agreed with my step-dad. They said they would replace it no problem, they even gave us a brand new Elantra until they fixes it. Were in May now and thought all was finally right with the car until today. I've heard the same noise it was making back and November and got my step-dad to look at it. When we popped the good we fount that they ONLY patched the hole. Now we have a hole again and could have had it blow up for the second time. We are going in on Monday and plan on demanding certain things, such as a brand new timing belt/plastic cover, and talking to the owner about their service manager and our HORRIBLE experience. Service Sucks!!! My car has been in 5 times with the exact same issue. At first I'm told it's under warranty (have 54K) they have the car for a week replace some part My car has been in 5 times with the exact same issue. At first I'm told it's under warranty (have 54K) they have the car for a week replace some parts I come pick it up and notice before I even leave the parking lot the exact same issue. Go back in leave the car for the night again get a call the next morning from Lance and now I have to pay for brake service (I had a hard knocking noise in the rear) I agree to pay the $300 pick it up that night... same noise. It's since been back 3 more times and they have not been able to correct it so I decided to take it to Barrie where they had the issue fixed in one day (required new shock in rear under warranty) NEVER will my car go back to this dealership nor will I consider them when purchasing a new vehicle!!!
