Kudos - Bill Stanyar and Civic Motors Honda It's odd, how someone's name pops into a head - quite unexpectedly - it seems - but maybe not. The name is Bill Stanyar, and I think it has something to do with SNOW! I hasten to add, Bill, that I am not holding you responsible for the snow . . . Last December (2017) I was caught in the late afternoon traffic when the first significant snow of the season found me trapped, not moving - at a time when I wanted to be somewhere else. I had a little time to think - sitting in my Honda 'Fit' (yes, that's the car for my husband and me ) - and began to count my blessings just a bit. A couple of years previously, George and I found ourselves - hicks from the Maritimes - now living in the active and thriving City of Ottawa. We arrived with our newly Leased 'Fit' (never drove a leased vehicle previously and needed to find a way to get around the busy city - and find a way to look after the leased 'Fit' appropriately). We asked around a bit, and a friend gave us the name of Bill Stanyar, at Civic Motors Honda. I found out that Civic Motors is away the heck across the city from where we live, in the West end. I had looked, and there was more than one Honda dealership quite close to where we live . . . so I hesitated about picking up the phone. Bill Stanyar, Leasing Manager, returned my call quickly - I needed to talk about the Leased car and what we needed to do. Bill had several suggestions about the process and suggested we bring the 'Fit' in to talk about how to make sure the car got the servicing it needed, when it needed it - etc. I cannot say it enough - Bill was very helpful - suggested several things which could make our dealing with Civic Motors 'work' well. Here we are, two years on from that, still very pleased with the service - and servicing we receive from Civic Motors. When Servicing is needed, Bill Stanyar puts us in touch with that department - and they, like Bill, seem to take our needs into consideration - together, making it a very satisfying, workable experience. We appreciate the customer satisfaction that this kind of communication produces - treating customers as if they mattered!! So, these were some of the thoughts that were going through my mind in that first SNOW of this miserable winter. As I sat there, I realized how fortunate we are to have been referred to Bill Stanyar and Civic Motors Honda. Further to that, the kind of servicing that our 'Fit' has had made me feel very safe, on that snowy day - and that the kind of servicing our car receives is great. I couldn't do anything about the SNOW - but I felt my vehicle was equipped for my safety. I promised myself that, as soon as I got home, I was going to write a Review about Bill Stanyar. I want others to appreciate your great, professional, thoughtful service - and combined with all Civic Motors Honda capable staff, you have much to offer. Guess what? The Review letter didn't get written. Today I was out in traffic again - 'they' are talking again about SNOW! It felt good, though, to know the 'FIT' continued to be in good shape, carefully Serviced - and this little bit of snow talked about today wasn't going to keep me from getting home safely. The penny dropped! The letter of Review that I had promised myself to write, didn't happen. But this is a new day, - a new SNOW - and I am happy to say, Thanks - Civic Motors Honda, all - and special thanks to you, Bill Stanyar. Go shovel!! Carolyn Mossman More

SCAM ARTISTS! I had an appointment for service last Thursday. I am simply trying to resolve an issue which should have been resolved and fixed then but I am not bei I had an appointment for service last Thursday. I am simply trying to resolve an issue which should have been resolved and fixed then but I am not being purposely ignored by the general manager Khalil, the service manager mike Malloy and the dealer principal Bill Lockyer after 5 attempts via phone and email. I took my 2016 Honda Accord sport with only 17,000kms (roughly 10,000 Miles) into Civic Motors Honda's dealership in Ottawa, Canada today as I knew my rotors were warped. so I knew this should be covered under warranty. I left the car there at 9:45am and got a phone call shortly after. I was told that all four rotors and pads were warped and all four pads were done due to the low mileage on my car. I was told that the calipers were seized as well like the rotors is unheard of as well. The dealer replace the rear rotors and machined the front rotors (getting brake dust all over my car that could not be washed off) and put new pads all around and claimed that this will happen again because of the calipers being seized unless I pay $255 to service then,but they would not cover them under warranty. In fact they would not do anything about the seized calipers that they claim they needed to use a hammer to put the new pads back in. They failed to listen to me when I stated that the calipers were defective and should have been replaced or serviced at no cost under warranty as well as this should not happen to a car with only 17,000kms. I called Honda Canada who called the dealership and put me on hold for over a half and hour discussing this to come back and tell me that "honda canada can not tell the dealers what to do" and that "the dealer has made it's decision". I asked to speak with a manager via honda canada and they said one will call me in 3-8 business days. To make matters even worse, Civic Motors Honda "forgot" to call me to tell me when my car would be ready. It was supposed to be ready at 1pm but I called at 2:00pm and they said "sorry you must have fallen through the cracks" After 4 repeated attempts of asking the service manager to speak with the owner or general manager he finally gave me his phone number. I have left a message and am awaiting his call. it has been almost a week. More
