This is the first time that I have be angry enough to go to the effort of writing a review. I don’t expect anything from Car-On. They had their opportunity. I think others should know. I purchased a 2019 to the effort of writing a review. I don’t expect anything from Car-On. They had their opportunity. I think others should know. I purchased a 2019 Q5 from Car-On back in January. We were pleased with the vehicle as well as the sales process. Last week my wife even recommended Car-On as a good place to go to purchase a used vehicle. Everything was great until last week when we went to change over to our summer tires. I generally change the tires myself as they are on rims. To loosen the Lug Bolts I had to use a 2ft breaker bar and then jump on it to get them to break loose. Weighing 200lbs that is over 400ft-lb of Torque. I tried to loosen the 4 locking lugs but could not. Because I did not want to break the lugs or the key I took the vehicle into a tire shop. They were unable to loosen the locking logs either and actually broke one of the lugs. They were great and did not charge me for their efforts. I told them I wanted to take the vehicle back to where I bought it. When I brought the vehicle to Car-On service to ask them to loosen the locking lugs they explained that it would be a straight time job and that it could be costly as they may need to drill out one of the lugs. They also said that they always use a torque wrench when installing lugs. I explained that there was no way that the lugs were ever torqued to the specified torque of 103ft-lb. They had be Torqued well beyond that. They asked me if I wanted the work done. I told them that they had done enough damage and that I did not trust them. It is unbelievable to me that organizations like this will not take responsibility for the quality of their work. We retracted out recommendation to my wife’ colleague and won’t go back. More

Indicated a service charge under the powertrain warranty was often waived because they wanted to ensure the customer was happy. Took the car to service with over a month left in the powertrain warranty with a periodic noise the turning in and out of parking spaces and indicated it was temperature dependent, .i.e. minimal when air temperature somewhat less than 0°C and much worse as the temp got higher. Service heard the noise and immediately claimed it was an axle problem and told me the temperature dependency didn't make sense because there was no fluid in the axles. What didn't make any sense was that CarOn insisted the axles were the problem when they know there is no fluid in an axle. Even though they weren't making sense I wanted them to be right so I let them. They charged me almost $1K with no change to my problem and claimed that axles are not covered by the powertrain warranty. Their warranty supposedly covers the same powertrain as defined by the manufacturer. Subaru definitely covers axles in their powertrain warranty. Not sure how CarOn gets the power from the engine to the wheels without the axles. CarOn said if I wasn't happy I could bring the car back and they would fix it by replacing the transmission and with upto $1500 coverage under warranty. I got the old axles back and they showed no signs of slipping or wear. There were gouge marks on both but I am assuming they were from tools used during axle removal or they were placed after I asked for the replaced parts. In my opinion CarOn's powertrain warranty is worthless, either they will try to make sure it doesn't apply or the bill would be padded enough to cover any cost of warranty. Even though CarOn refused to give me a ballpark cost I believe it is around a $6000 job and it is hard to find a reconditioned transmission. Note: Adam was supposed to have gotten back to me yesterday with the ballpark cost to replace the transmission and Khalid was supposed to have gotten back to me two days ago to address my concern that I was ripped off regarding, in my opinion, the unwarranted replacement of the two front axles. In addition Stelios was supposed to call me for a free replacement part to correct a window problem. Needless to say that has not happened within the last two months. I highly recommend that no one trusts CarOn for honest reliable sales or service. More

After sending an inquiry email I received an after-hours automated reply by Stelios, incl. “. We can call, email or text. Just trying to make it easiest for you. I look forward to speaking with you! Thanks for choosing Car-On Auto Sales, where our goal is to EARN your business”, etc. The next day, Monday, March 4 I went to dealer and was met by Stelios. I inquired about the car. Stelios was friendly enough, enquiring at times re answers to my questions from other employees, as he was still in training. I took a test drive and arranged for a PPI at my garage the coming Wednesday. Stelios was on time and met me at the garage where we waited, myself spending some of the time with the mechanic during the inspection. I found that Stelios' language was somewhat coaxing, using sentences like 'so, is this your car? Are you going to buy it? Do you like it' etc. both during the initial meeting and during the wait at the garage. It turned out that the car which was offered 'as is' needed a substantial amount of repairs, more than $ 3,400. I mentioned the amount of repairs to Stelios who said something like this was to be expected with an 'as is' car. Just before leaving, he said there was another person inquiring the day before and expressing that she wanted it (or was interested), and that they were keeping the car for me for now because I had booked the inspection. I had till 6 PM to let them know if I wanted it. My suspicion was that this might be a bluff. I went home, deliberated, and would have liked to wait till the next day to think things over. However, I had been suffering from a long-term voice problem, needed to get a car within a few weeks and was simply not sure whether my voice had the strength to go through the same process again with another car. Stelios would not budge on the price, restating that they were a one-price shop. For a variety of reasons, I went back the same to and signed the purchase agreement with Oday. This took place Wednesday afternoon. After coming back, I had no voice left. A couple of additional questions re the procedure of transfer had arisen for me after the meeting. After hours on Wednesday I emailed Stelios with clearly outlined questions and cc'ing Oday, explaining that I was unable to phone at the moment and asking him for a reply by email. Close to 6 PM the next day I had heard nothing from either of them. I emailed Stelios again, asking whether he had received my email of the day before. No answer on Friday either. I had received plenty of emails from Car-on Auto with sweet jargon 'we value you; Let me know what we can do to earn your business' etc. etc. etc. But here I was, sending inquiries, unable to make a call, receiving no answers feeling stonewalled. I replied to one of the emails containing the earn-your-business language which I had received from Simon Caron, taking him up on his word and forwarding him my previous emails to Stelios. Saturday late afternoon, 3 days after reaching out, I received an email from Khalid to whom Simon had forwarded my request for assistance. Khalid answered all my questions promptly, clearly and completely. Monday I received a phone message from Stelios asking if I had any questions re the car, which showed that he had never read my email stating that I was unable to phone at the moment. I still needed to complete the purchase and asked Khalid when he would be in. Tuesday, March 12 I went in again, met with Khalid and completed the payment with Oday. Khalid arranged to have the car taken to my mechanic, as I had requested. One thing I noticed is that I got conflicting answers re insurance for the trip from the dealer to the garage. One person told me that Car-on Auto had their own insurance for that, the other one that I needed my own. It might have been a misunderstanding but could be important for other customers to know. He took the time to ask me detailed questions about my lifestyle, preferences, and budget. He then used this information to narrow down the options and showed me some vehicles that he thought would be a good fit. His knowledge of the cars was impressive, and he patiently answered all of my questions. He made the entire process smooth and enjoyable. Against warnings from friends, I went to this dealer to buy a 2023 Tacoma. I initially made a deal on one, for zero cash trade on my existing truck. The initial sale went well until I received a call from buy a 2023 Tacoma. I initially made a deal on one, for zero cash trade on my existing truck. The initial sale went well until I received a call from the salesman (owners son) that another one, is also available. I expressed interest in this one, and drove in again - 200km (return trip), to test drive the truck. Once again, I agreed to buy option number two. I texted the salesperson to confirm this is a zero cash deal, pending inspection of my vehicle. All was agreed. I back in again (3rd time, lots of driving). They confirm my vehicle is as described and there is no issue with the vehicle. I then get presented with a note that I will owe approx. 750.00 because the second one I opted for is slightly more valuable. That wasn't the deal, the salesman nor sales manager didn't back it, even though I showed the text of his confirmation and we shook on it in good faith. I then ask to default to the original truck I had agreed on - it's sold to someone else. They had a $500.00 down to hold the vehicle as well. If you're used to dealing with new car dealers and like the experience, don't go here. They don't stand by their promises, or agreements in good faith. This is a typical used car lot. The admitted they made the mistake and wouldn't stand up to it. buyer beware. More
Don’t buy from this dealer. This was my son’s first vehicle purchase. The salesman was good and spent lots of time with us. The finance manager was good when my son filled out t This was my son’s first vehicle purchase. The salesman was good and spent lots of time with us. The finance manager was good when my son filled out the original sales agreement but they would not give him a copy. When he went to pick up the vehicle, they had changed the sales agreement and wanted him to sign it without reading it. He did read it but was rushed by the finance manager the whole time. They told him they took $500 dollars off the price of his trade because they had not realized the car had been in an accident. It turns out they increased the price of the vehicle he was buying by almost a thousand dollars and added a $2800 warranty he did not ask for. They also changed the terms of the financing to 60 months from 51. There finance managers are predatory in their dealings with customers. They saw a young person with no experience and they took advantage of him. Unfortunately I was not there when he picked up the vehicle. I will never deal with them again and would advise everyone to avoid them like the plague! More
