Good morning Paul, I spoke with Brad this morning and he filled me in on your conversation last night. In regards to your the tires and rims on your vehicle, we have offered to replace them with the factory tires and rims, plus refund you the money that you spent to purchase them so that you are able to get brand new tires and rims. We want to ensure that all of our customers are taken care of. Going forward, how else might we be able to assist you? Please do let me know, Cali Hyer Internet Manager

There was never any conversation yesterday when I was at the dealership with anyone about replacing the tires and rims with the originals nor any reimbursement for the cost of the ones that are currently on the vehicle. If I choose to go this route, is the reimbursement on the price of the tires and rims which are from 2012 or will I be reimbursed on the cost of 2014 tires and rims? According to all the employees I interacted with there yesterday, putting parts that are 16 months or older on new vehicles is no problem, so my question is, what has changed minds there in the last 24 hours?

Hey Paul, Brad would like to discuss this with you further. Do you have a contact number that he can give you a call at right now? Please do let me know as soon as possible. Thanks, and have a great evening!

So, after my truck being in 3 times for repairs in the 2 months that I have owned it, and me leaving messages with multiple people there who did not return calls, you are saying that my number is not on file? Very disheartening. 780-995-2354

Good afternoon Paul, We managed to find your phone number and I understand that you spoke with Brad Jinjoe already. We are trying to come to resolution for your concerns that you posted. The offer still stands for putting the factory rims and tires back on your vehicle and refunding you the amount that you paid for these rims and tires. Is this something you would like to go forward with? Please do let us know as soon as possible. Have a great evening.

Good afternoon Paul, In regards to your review before and the conversations that we have had currently. The tires that you had purchased are still new tires. They were purchased December 6th, 2013, which is what our invoice states from Trucks Plus. We have spoken with you, and messaged you through the Dealer Rater service, yet we still have not had confirmation on if you are wanting to accept our offer of a refund. Please do let us know, Thanks,

In response to your dealerships comment on my review, I have the purchase order from your parts department which clearly indicates that the tires and rims for my vehicle were purchased on Dec 6, 2012, not 2013. Along with getting the date wrong, I was offered your dealerships cost as a refund on the tires and rims, not your cost and the mark up or what it would cost me to replace them myself. I will only deal with your dealership in the future if it is my only option.

paulfisher responded

The tires and rims for my truck were purchased from Trucks Plus on Dec 6,2012, not 2013 as indicated in the response from the dealership. I was able to obtain a copy of the purchase order from the parts department of Capital Dodge. Their offer to me regarding refunding me the price of the tires and rims was at their cost, not the cost and mark up that I paid when buying the new truck. I will not deal with these people unless it is my only option.

Capital Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram responded

Good afternoon Paul, My apologies for our typo; the rims were indeed purchased Dec 6, 2012. However, these are still classified as new as they hadn't been put into use until they were installed on your truck. Tires and rims can be thus classified new for up to 5-6 years. Our original offer was to refund you the money for the tires and rims and put factory tires and rims on your vehicle. Unfortunately, since it took you until today to respond to our offer on the 7th, at this point in time we do not have any factory inventory available to put onto your vehicle. We will have to postpone this until these are available.

paulfisher responded

I do not want the factory tires and rims, but it seems to me that if you send vehicles out for tires, rims, lift an leveling kits, your dealership should have a stockpile of factory rims and rubber. I am not sure if you sell them to make more profit off of new vehicles that you customize, but this seems strange to me. Regardless of all this, not informing a customer that parts of their new vehicle are not "new" should be something that is put into practice at your dealership so this issue doesn't reoccur as the general public is probably not aware of this practice. As I have stated previously, I will not be doing business with your dealership unless absolutely necessary, furthermore being military I will dissuade any members of the Forces and civilians that are looking to purchase vehicles from even visiting your dealership.

Capital Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram responded

Paul, Thank you for the prompt response back. I think that there has been a miscommunication in regards to the status of your rims and tires. Your rims and tires are still classified as new according to the manufacturer standards. As long as the tires have not been put into use they can still be sold as new for 5-6 years. This does not affect the quality of the tire. You still have high quality rims and tires put onto your vehicle. In regards to the factory set of rims and tires: You are correct, we normally do have a stockpile of tires and rims, however at this point in time we do not have inventory available for your 2014 Ram 1500. When these rims and tires are taken off and stored, a majority of the time they are used to help our customers out. Out of curiosity Paul, is there anything wrong with the tires and rims on your vehicle? In all honesty you are the first customer we have had to ever bring up this concern.

May 22, 2014 -

paulfisher responded

The only problems I have had with my tires and rims are the fact that I bought a 2014 truck and assumed that all parts on the vehicle were new, it took 2 months for your dealership to locate my hub nut covers, your dealership was sticking by the fact that the tires and rims were purchased Dec 6 2012 until I received a copy of the purchase order and I was insulted that I was offered the factory tires and rims and a refund of the dealership's cost of the aftermarket tires and rims which would be way lower than my cost to replace them. The fact that my wheels were not balanced before I took possession of the truck is also concerning. The lack of attention to detail, the way the staff cover each other's asses and the posting of misinformation on a public posts shows me the lack of professionalism that runs rampant at your dealership.

Good morning Paul, As we have explained previously, the rims and tires on your vehicles are still considered new as per manufacturer standards. These tires and rims sat in our showroom untouched before being put on your vehicle. We have been more than fair with our original offer that you did not accept. Unfortunately too much time has passed and there are now kilometers on your rims and tires that don't allow us to take the return of your tires and rims. At this time we are considering this matter to be closed.
