I ended up going to five different dealerships around Barrie, considering as many options as I could for the style of vehicle my wife and I planned on buying. It was unfortunate for the other dealerships, though, that Barrie Subaru was my first stop (never having owned a Subaru before). No other dealership was as pleasant to deal with, and no other vehicle I test drove compared to a Subaru. As a salesman, Paul was excellent to deal with - professional, knowledgeable, courteous, and above all he didn't act like a "normal" salesman. He answered all eight million questions my wife and I asked, helped run all the numbers I asked of him, and ultimately made it very easy for us to choose a Subaru. Mike made working out the finances easy, and just like another reviewer stated, simply presented my wife and I with additional options but in no way pressured us to purchase any. As far as the quality of the vehicle is concerned (we bought a 2015 Forester), I shouldn't have to tell you how fantastic it is. When we purchased our Forester we were told, again like another reviewer, that it might take some time to locate one since one with our requested options wasn't in stock. Fortunately a model was found relatively close by within a couple of weeks, and we were able to immediately take it on a road trip south to put it through its paces. Obviously I'm still in the honeymoon phase, but when our second vehicle's time comes to an end I'm going to be hard-pressed not to want to buy another Subaru from Paul! More

Upon arriving at Barrie Subaru, met Paul and he suggested taking the Impreza out for a test drive and told us to take it to a local area and try spinning it, to see exactly how it handled. Upon completion of the test drive, Paul went over the complete vehicle, options and the price not with holding (not telling you) any extra charges that would be placed on the vehicle at the time of purchase. He did not place any pressure on purchasing the vehicle, he said think it over, check out the other completion and when you are ready to buy, give him a call to set up another appointment. He sent us an email thanking us for testing out the Impreza and that he was available for any questions. Again no pressure in buying. We did that and decided that the Impreza was the car for us. We made another appointment with Paul and he helped us negotiate a deal that we were satisfied with. We then worked with Mike on the financing side and again he did not pressure us into buying any of the extras but to take them home and review them all and if we wanted any of them to let him know. They did not have the vehicle in stock but found the vehicle within two days in the colour that we wanted. It took a couple of weeks to get the vehicle from another dealership but we were in no hurry to receive it. We now have the vehicle and are enjoying it. More
Great sales experience from start to finish I've been a Subaru devotee for many years and knew what I wanted - the 2015 Outback, and Paul Santaera made it all happen without a hitch - online! He was quick to respond to all inquiries, cut a deal I was happy with, and arranged a seamless pickup on very short notice. Absolutely no complaints here. More
Excellent Customer Care !! I decided on getting a Subaru. Contacted the dealership and spoke to Bob Mather. We set up a appointment. Wasn't sure if I wanted The STI or WRX. we w I decided on getting a Subaru. Contacted the dealership and spoke to Bob Mather. We set up a appointment. Wasn't sure if I wanted The STI or WRX. we went for a test drive in a STI . They we talked about the two cars. Yes I do like Brembo brakes , wider and lower profile tires. The main difference was about $10,000. more than the WRX. Decided on the WRX. No regrets. Mr Mather was professional with no B.S. after 32 years with the Toronto Police, trust me I know if I am getting a line. After the deal was done I was in hand of Michael Hiltz who did the pick up work. As luck would have it my wife had the car and had no way of getting down to pick up my new car. Michael said either he would pick me up or have someone else get me. Bob Mather a very straight shooter, I recommend him as a salesman. Mr. Hiltz made all the political stuff go away. Kudos to these gentlemen, professional answered all questions. Buy with confidence !!! Ihor Kowal More
Friendly Service I just recently bought a used Outback, my first time buying pre-owned which was a bit nerve wrecking. Paul Santeara sat with me for 2 hours trying to make me feel better about buying used rather then new. We hit a few bumps along the way but he made the experience pleasant. So far no complaints and hopefully none along the way. Every one at the dealership was super nice and patient. Keep up the jovial attitude Paul! Mike was very helpful as well. More

He was professional, knowledgeable and helped me with every question I had regarding the purchase. I am very pleased with my experience with Bob at Barrie Subaru. The only hitch in the process was that another staff member who handles paperwork such as getting the insurance sorted out, forgot to send my insurance (whom I had given him the contact information and so on) a copy of the bill of sale which they needed to get my insurance up and running. I had to scramble on the saturday I picked up the car to reach my insurance company and have them send me the insurance so I could get my car. Not the end of the world by any means. Other than that, everything was smooth. And my god, the car is amazing! I have not yet had any dealings with the service department, but I am pleased with the sales department. They were much more professional than the Mississauga Subaru on Mavis, which is why I chose to go to a dealership over an hour away when I live in Mississauga. Go see Bob, he'll fix you up with a fantastic car! More
Servicing ripoff I always take my Outback to either Barrie or a Toronto Subaru dealer for servicing. Your servicing records are not shared by dealerships. My "big" 96,000 km scheduled maintenance was done in Toronto. Two oil changes later, at 112,000k the Barrie dealer said I needed all kinds of work, $1, 800 worth. Seems like they don't check anything just look at your records. At 86,000 and again at 112,000 the Barrie dealer said my breaks needed work, rotors to be machined and maybe more. That's totally inaccurate. At 87,000 I bought new tires at Barrie....Pirelli 4. Now at 112,000 they claim the tires prematurely wearing, though the depth is OK and no sign of alignment problem. More lies from Barrie Subaru. Like my Outback, but find Barrie Subaru disgusting. More
I bought a 2007 Impreza 2.5i used from Barrie Subaru. The salesman (Mike) treated me like I wasn't even serious about buying a car from him. Yes I was fairly young, but that is no excuse to treat me that way. I explained to him how I needed a new car asap because both my other cars had just died. From the time of purchase, it took over 5 days before I got my car. They had to cert/etest it, not sure how that takes almost a week to do. Have also not jad a fun time with the parts dept there ordering me wrong parts then blaming me for ordering the wrong side. All in all, barrie subaru is a 10 min drive from my house, I would rather drive 40 mins to davenport in orrillia. More
