At first the service was great, we purchased the vehicle and drove off to then experience majors issues with this preowned 'certified 'vehicle within days. The dealership now refuses to stand by their word and ignores my calls and emails. Not respected. Not impressed. Only good outcome from this experience was their finance manager, he was outstanding! More
Decent Sales, Awful Service Terrible Sales Manager. When did it become okay to put someone in a supervisory position with absolutely no knowledge or experience in the trade that Terrible Sales Manager. When did it become okay to put someone in a supervisory position with absolutely no knowledge or experience in the trade that they are supervising? Must be fantastic for the mechanics. She has even worse customer service skills. Brought my truck back (again) with an appointment to speak directly to the mechanic and, after delaying and stalling for an hour, refusing to let me speak to anyone with mechanical knowledge, they finally let me in to speak to the mechanic who completely ignored me and carried on working. Fourth time at a dealer for the same problem!! They actually had me drive away last time with the alarm still going off and shrugged, unable to fix it. Useless. We'll see if they can actually fix it this time. More
Amazing Service Experience! Recently, I was on a week long business trip from Edmonton to Vancouver with multiple pit stops on the way out and back. While on my way back from Van Recently, I was on a week long business trip from Edmonton to Vancouver with multiple pit stops on the way out and back. While on my way back from Vancouver on the Coquihalla, late on a Thursday afternoon, my vehicle experienced an engine misfire and a brief flicker of the Service Engine light. My trip back included a stop in Kelowna and I was able to make contact with Bannister's in Kelowna. My initial contact by phone found the appointment coordinator very accommodating, and she was able to set an appointment up for Friday morning. As it turned out, I was able make it to Kelowna before the Service Department closed, and pulled into the Service drive-thru late Thursday afternoon. I was greeted by the Service Consultant, Jeremiah Richholt, and from that point on, the experience was amazing. I can say that in the 40 odd years that I have been driving, Jeremiah was the most professional Service Consultant I've come across! He was attentive and engaged. He provided an expectation of how quickly the car would be looked at, and assured me that he would be in touch with an estimate. Then, he delivered on those expectations, to a "T" with a call Friday morning, advising on the needed work. Then a second call 2 hours later when the repairs were complete, and a total on the cost that matched the estimate! Unfortunately, Jeremiah was on his lunch break when I arrived to pick up my vehicle, so I wasn't able to thank him personally for his excellent service. I would definitely recommend Bannister's in Kelowna based on this experience. More
2 Bad Experiences I purchased a new vehicle from Bannister GM Kelowna in 2014. The salesman at the time was OK at best. Not terrible, but not great. The lady in the fin I purchased a new vehicle from Bannister GM Kelowna in 2014. The salesman at the time was OK at best. Not terrible, but not great. The lady in the finance department was terrible though. She was quite rude and snotty and made me feel terrible because my credit isn't as strong as others. Despite this less than stellar experience in 2014, silly me thought I would be treated better as a repeat customer having decided to trade the original vehicle in. The vehicle was never what I wanted and I settled at the time (again because the salesman and finance made me feel like I had to). I found a truck at this dealership I really liked and decided I wanted to trade my original purchase in for that. The sales person this time was Dominic H and I will say that he was good to work with. Very upbeat and personable. Despite the fact that I was a repeat customer and that the trade-in was in excellent condition with very low kilometers, I was offered bottom of the blue book. I was a bit insulted but decided to move forward anyway because I really just didn't want that vehicle anymore. Selena was my finance rep this time and again, the finance experience left much to be desired. I have been working hard to rebuild my credit and it is almost back up to prime ratings but it still has it's flaws and I was made to feel again like some sort of degenerate. It took 3 days and very little communication from her to hear that the lowest interest rate she could get me (that she apparently worked very hard for) didn't bring my payments down into the range I was hoping for. She then suggested maybe I look at different vehicles - AGAIN being encouraged to settle. I decided to be done with Bannister. Later the same day I went to another dealership in town and purchased a new vehicle worth more than the one at Bannister. The other dealership's finance person got me a lower interest rate so I was able to keep my payments where I wanted them and have the perfect truck for me. No settling! Obviously Selena did not work very hard on that interest rate as the other dealership made it all happen in one day and got way better results. I will never ever step foot on the Bannister lot again and will continue to tell everyone I know about the TWO negative experiences I have had there. I am so happy to be out of a Bannister vehicle and never have to deal with them again. VERY POOR! More
Great Car Buying Experience! We initially contacted Bannister GMC as we were looking to downsize our vehicle. Me and my wife went around town trying to trade it in but every plac We initially contacted Bannister GMC as we were looking to downsize our vehicle. Me and my wife went around town trying to trade it in but every place we went to would only give us way less than what we still owed on it. I first spoke on the phone to the dealer manager Brian Westall and described our situation. As a one income family of five we needed to get the best deal possible. We went in and Brian met us personally at the door. He then led us to the salesman Dominic Hofmann who sat down with us and a did a thorough needs analysis. In the end we found a vehicle suitable for our budget and lifestyle. To top it all off we were given $2000 more for our trade in than what the other dealerships would give us! We are sincerely grateful to Bannister GMC for all the great help and service they gave us. We felt comfortable through the whole process and would recommend them to anyone looking to buy a vehicle. Thanks again to everyone at Bannister GMC! More
