I've gone to Bank Street Mitsubishi a couple of times and they've done some great work including fulfilling a repair under warranty (had an exhaust leak and needed a new manifold) as well as standard mai and they've done some great work including fulfilling a repair under warranty (had an exhaust leak and needed a new manifold) as well as standard maintenance like oil & filter. Everyone there is very friendly, including David. But with the pros has come some serious cons. The first is that their customer retention advertising via call-list and email newsletter is constant and far too repetitive. I've been constantly called and emailed since my very first service and it took me several attempts to unsubscribe from the newsletter and have never been able to remove myself from the call list. I also experienced some pretty poor service this past winter. My '08 Lancer GTS, after a cold night, had some issues with its Smart Keyless entry system. I tried to troubleshoot the problem but didn't know what was wrong. The doors and trunk unlocked and locked via key fob, so I had eliminated the key as the cause. The car would not turn over and started to give "no key" errors after a couple of attempts. I looked over the battery and the wires and had a friend try to jump start it, no luck. The parking spot I was in would cause me to get a serious ticket come the next morning, so by that night I called a tow truck and got them to bring it to Bank Street Mitsubishi (BSM), in good faith that they would know what was wrong almost right away. I was wrong, so very wrong. I explained the problem to BSM and the troubleshooting steps I had taken. I received a call near the end of the day requesting permission for 2 hours of troubleshooting in the shop at their shop rate, which I thought was a nice touch to ask, but it meant they had already wasted a day (no biggie). The next day I get a call saying they were able to fix the problem, and they car was ready for pick-up. Awesome! I told them I'd cut work off early and come out to get it and pay the bill. I do so (about $300), but when I get to my car, the door wouldn't unlock anymore (via key fob). Well xxxx. I decide it's fine as long as the car starts. No go, same exact problem as before. I walk back into the dealership and a salesman attempts to start it with the same result. The salesman is apologetic, and the sales manager (dealership manager? can't remember his name, corner office) is upset that he's wasted my time. He wants to do right by me and says he'll get them to program a fob for me the next day – pulls one identical to mine out of his desk and sets it aside for the next day and ensures me it will get done. Made me feel much better. I go home via bus one more time. The next day I'm called by a guy in service and told they can't re-program a used one, it has to be a new one, and the key + time to program will be about $700 after taxes. So much for feeling better. He says the original key was usable from the get-go and the tow was unnecessary – the key needs to be flipped around and inserted into the fob to be in contact with the Smart chip, then used as a regular key to start the car since the fob is busted. So I head out to the dealership one more time to pick-up my car, this time feeling stupid, but with the knowledge I needed from the very beginning. Expensive knowledge, stupid mistake I know, but my doors and trunk functions were still non-functional and they were before I had brought it in. A 3-day roller coaster ride and definitely the poorest experience I've had a dealership. It's not the cost, it's how it was handled. I saw nothing but glowing reviews on here and thought I'd share. I was greeted right away and shown my different options. Georges had a lot of patience with me by having to pull up differnet cars for me to finally chose to test drive. He also had patience when I wasn't sure which colour to get, so he led me outside to see the colours side by side. He gladly answered my many questions and made me feel very comfortable in asking anything. When I picked up my car, Georges showed me how to use the different features on the car and set up my bluetooth for me. Georges even called me the day after to see how I liked my car. These things made me feel great in purchasing my first new car and makes me want to come back again. I have been to dealerships in Cornwall (since I'm from Cornwall) and I didn't get this same kind of treatment. I would like to thank Georges for a great experience. More
