I just wanted to give a huge thanks to Steve Mahal and the Service team at Westcoast Toyota. I had a monor problem with my 23 Tundra, which was dealt with professionally and respectfully. I would 110% rec the Service team at Westcoast Toyota. I had a monor problem with my 23 Tundra, which was dealt with professionally and respectfully. 1st issue: they tried to give me less then my car's worth even after I told the salesman (Mark) that the claims were purely cosmetic, and that a different dealership already quoted me at $17,500. I walked ou even after I told the salesman (Mark) that the claims were purely cosmetic, and that a different dealership already quoted me at $17,500. I walked out feeling pretty bad about my situation, simply because Mark would not listen, and kept implying my car was worth less than it is, and somehow made me feel uncomfortable like I was a liar (power tripping like usual salesmen.) When I was in a customer service role I was taught "the customer is always right." What happened to those days? Also if you are going to sell cars for a markup, then I expect my car to sell for the value it's worth as a trade in. 2nd issue: I let them test drive my vehicle for no reason, as Mark would not even attempt to negotiate prices. He didn't even bother talking to the manager the second time. I was also not given a quote on my car either after they test drove it. He wasted a bunch of time getting his manager ready to test drive my vehicle, that I could have used test driving that vehicle, since it took him 20 minutes to have all the paper work photocopied, and by the time it was done there was only 3 minutes left until close. All I got out of this pointless trip was lost insurance papers and wasted time and gas. He obviously did everything he could to shorten the test drive time. I came all the way out there from North Vancouver, after he promised to talk numbers IF I came in. Why don't they talk numbers over the phone instead of wasting people's time and gas? I'm absolutely sick and tired of dealing with power tripping money hungry people. There's no way you guys can not see the problems here. Want a tip? Stop acting like you have authority over your customers. Sure you can make someone else feel like they are less, but do you think that's a good thing to do to kind/ nice people? Your employees need training. 3rd issue: This exact model car 2018 less mileage and clean title more maintenance was selling in Victoria for $25,500. (They are still going to replace some things, but oils/ fluids should be changed too just like at the good dealerships.) I'm so sick of dealing with car dealerships. This experience has made me never want to buy a car again. edit: tells me to file a complaint to their email, but can't even do that as they don't accept messages from people who aren't on their contact list. Ridiculous. More
If you think Toyota Canada stands besides their brand and takes responsibility, you are wrong! If you think West coast Toyota dealership stands beside their selling product and takes responsibility, you are takes responsibility, you are wrong! If you think West coast Toyota dealership stands beside their selling product and takes responsibility, you are dead wrong! I bought a Highlander 2017 brand new, I did all the extra protection for underneath the body and the colour, along with other additional accessories to keep it nice and in good shape. I did all the nessasary services for my car on time. Not even missing one according to the Toyota Canada recommendations. Suddenly at 69,000km the transmission started having a little kick, on third gear just last month. When I took it to get diagnosed at a dealership they told me we have bad news for you! They said my Highlander's transmission has failed, and that I had to replace it with a new one! $12,500. I was shocked on how that could happen to my Highlander, I was taking care of her like a baby all the time. Accident free, towing free, not even traveling out of town, I am the first and the only owner. I ended up doing my own research for a couple of weeks, I found out Toyota Canada started installing 8 speed transmission for the first time, and my Highlander was exactly the first version of three with issues and faulty functions. They new about it very well but kept it in the dark away from the public. Secondly, the dealership has a maintenance procedure for transmission fluid flushing, five years or 96,000km whichever one comes first. Unfortunately, they missed to mention that or offer it to the owner. Worse than that, when I was asking them why they didn't remind me to do it when the five years was up, their answer was "we do it at 96,000km, not five years". I am looking forward to get one of those responsible for this major repair, either Toyota Canada or West coast dealership. More
Mark assisted me from start to finish with a trade in and purchase of my 4runner. He was extremely helpful, informative, and honest. The whole experience was very stress-free, simple, and straightforward. Th purchase of my 4runner. He was extremely helpful, informative, and honest. I have been a Toyota owner for over 20 years, and have been looking at a truck for almost 9, so I was initially thrilled with the acquisition of a new Tacoma up until we did a closer inspection and discov been looking at a truck for almost 9, so I was initially thrilled with the acquisition of a new Tacoma up until we did a closer inspection and discovered scratches on the exterior of the truck. David Quinn called a detailer over to fix it, and while we were waiting for this to be completed, David told us a story about how the previous dealership he worked for would bring vehicles outside in the rain to hide scratches, but he wouldn’t do that because the lights in the showroom would show everything. When the detailer was complete and the scratch was still viable, we were told to look at the truck outside as the scratch was still visible due to the lights in the showroom, and to see if we could see it in the rain. It was quite surprising to hear that as we just heard how the previous dealership that David worked at was so bad because they would do things like that, yet he was doing that to us. Even in the rain the scratch was still visible. We left our number and were told we would hear something back that afternoon. I do know that things happen, and the reply was a bit delayed, but now it is three days later and I still have no answer as to when it will be fixed and it seems I may miss a very important meeting to get the vehicle coated.
