I had given five stars to this dealership when I bought two new Corollas from Toyota Northwest for my parents back in 2020. I have to give 1 star now. I found out today there is an issue with this dealership for the last two days where they cannot take any debit or credit card payments. I am sure it will get resolved soon as plastic is how majority of people pay. My father went in to have the 12V battery checked and they did an oil change and assessment work, which is fine. He had called last week and was told to come in. New battery has not been installed because its on back order (no date to arrival) so the bill was around $200. When it came time to pay for the work, due to their systems being down, could not accept plastic payment. They would not release the car back to my father without payment so he had to go pull money out from an ATM and then pay for the invoice. The full bill could have been paid when the car comes back in for the battery replacement or they should not have done anything knowing their payment systems are down. Forcing a senior to pull out money from an ATM and pay is not professional; no receipt for service was provided since their systems are down. This sort of behaviour is borderline senior abuse and I would recommend people to be careful when doing business with this dealership. Both vehicles were bought with ECP warranties 84 month/200K and I have also bought parts from them. I have (had?) a good relationship with this dealership and expected them to treat seniors better but unfortunately that wasn’t the case. For them to behave like this, especially for around $200 and repeat customer, is astonishing. More
I highly recommend purchasing a vehicle from Toyota Northwest in Edmonton. Philip, Justice, Scott and Hannah were all excellent. Service centre was the worst ever. Do not use service centre….nicest place ever when spending $40,000 to buy a car, but when something goes wrong…won’t give you the time of day. errible Dealership – Do NOT Do Business with Toyota Northwest Edmonton I signed a contract with Toyota Northwest Edmonton (14240 137 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T5L 5H7) TWO YEARS AGO, leaving a $500 down Northwest Edmonton I signed a contract with Toyota Northwest Edmonton (14240 137 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T5L 5H7) TWO YEARS AGO, leaving a $500 down payment for a car that was supposedly "on order." Over the course of two years, I repeatedly contacted the dealership for updates. Every time, I was told the car was still on its way, but I was given no clear answers or timeline. In 2024, I was told the car would arrive in June, then July, then August, and finally sometime between September 8 and 18, 2024. When I called to get the VIN number so I could arrange insurance, I spoke with Jon Ip, one of the sales managers. Instead of offering assistance, Jon was extremely rude and dismissive. When I expressed my excitement to finally receive the car, he sarcastically asked if I was "complaining." He informed me there was no VIN number yet. Frustrated, I decided to visit the dealership in person on Friday, September 6 to speak directly with Jonathan Ip (Jon). I waited a long time, but he did not make himself available. After waiting with no response, I left the dealership and requested a call back. To this day, I have not heard from anyone. I tried escalating the issue by speaking with another sales manager, hoping for a better outcome, but that didn’t help. No one returned my calls after I left multiple messages. After a week of frustration, Jon finally answered and told me he didn’t have to sell me the car at all. He also said he’d refund my deposit—after TWO YEARS of waiting! Then, without any explanation, he hung up on me. I have still not received the refund, and it’s been days of checking my credit card for it. More

If you live in the Edmonton area you are lucky, you have several different dealerships to deal with. Based on my experience I would choose another dealership. I unfortunately do not live in the Edmonton area and travelled a great distance to pick up my new vehicle based on an agreed upon amount for my trade in. Upon arrival, I was dealing with Liam initially, only to suddenly be greeted by Ryan Coady. I was offered half of what was promised for my trade. I refused that offer and after some back and forth was offered a little more but I am still paying more than I had originally budgeted for. Unfortunately having travelled well over 1000 kms, and on a quick time crunch to return home I feel my hands were tied. I have email proof of 2 separate negotiated offers for my trade in. No one at this location responds to email requests once the sale is over. Shop elsewhere. Love the truck, not the experience. I have left this review before but apparently the dealer can delete them.
