I’ve only ever used this dealership to service a used Transit cargo van that I purchased elsewhere. I asked the to do a Air Conditioning system inspection because the coolant had to be refilled and ther Transit cargo van that I purchased elsewhere. I asked the to do a Air Conditioning system inspection because the coolant had to be refilled and there must be a leak. They inspected the engine coolant system and charged me $75 for that. When I later spoke with the advisor I was told that the coolant has nothing to do with the AC, and that I would need to pay another $180 to have the AC system inspected. Apparently, I should have known to use the word refrigerant rather than coolant. This implies that the customer needs to be an expert and the technician just does whatever the customer thinks. Someone should have told me that an AC inspection does not involve coolant, and asked me if they should proceed with the more expensive AC inspection. More
