No proactive call or anything like that. I had to call the dealer to ask, and it is only then they told me the car will be available after the long weekend. When I asked for a loaner, the salesman said that he is going to ask his manager and call me back ASAP. No call back. This “I need to ask my manager” technique was used three times during the purchase. And of course the manager is never around… In addition, after getting home I found out that one of the key fobs wasn’t working. All this makes the experience very average. Will I suggest this dealer to my friends and family? Possibly. More

The salesperson pressured me to act quickly, saying “other buyers were already scheduled to see the vehicle.” He showed me an inspection report from a government-approved inspection group, which I signed. That report made me feel confident that the car was safe and compliant. However, when I asked to test drive the vehicle, he told me it was still being inspected that morning and asked me to wait. This was confusing — how could the car already have a completed inspection report if it was still “under inspection” the same day? When I finally drove it, he limited the test drive to circling the dealership, saying nothing about going further. He also was not prepared for a full highway test — there were no dealer plates available, and he never suggested one. At that moment, I was a mother urgently needing a vehicle for my children, and I trusted Volkswagen’s name for safety and integrity. Four days later, on October 7th, an independent inspection at Canadian Tire revealed serious mechanical and safety defects that were clearly present before the sale and should have been disclosed under Alberta’s AMVIC law: – Engine misfire (Cylinder 3) – ABS fault (ECM/PCM relation failure) – Electrical communication errors – Leaking front strut and clunking suspension – Failed alignment and 2018 tires with uneven wear – Cooling fan malfunction – Broken block heater cord And I’m not even talking about the loose trim on the windshield — another clear sign that this vehicle was never properly inspected. I returned the vehicle on October 8th. The dealership kept it overnight, replaced one front strut, and performed an alignment — but did nothing about the other major issues. On October 9th, they even called me, pressuring me to return the temporary replacement vehicle, showing no understanding of the situation. I recently went through a car accident with my previous vehicle, and I cannot believe I was sold another car in such unsafe condition — especially a family vehicle meant to carry my children. And I still ask myself: If this car truly passed a government-approved inspection, how is it possible that all these major defects were missed? Either the inspection was not done properly, or I was misled. Selling a vehicle “as is” does not erase a dealer’s legal and moral duty to disclose known defects. I will be filing a formal complaint with AMVIC for hidden defects (vices cachés) and misrepresentation. This experience has been deceptive, dangerous, and unacceptable. If Volkswagen allows this kind of conduct, then its reputation for safety, transparency, and reliability means nothing. More
I subtracted a star for each issue I had with this dealer and arrived at 2 star rating. 1) the vehicle I purchased came with only winter tires, this was in July, I would appreciate having that brought to m and arrived at 2 star rating. 1) the vehicle I purchased came with only winter tires, this was in July, I would appreciate having that brought to my attention. I mentioned it afterwards but the dealer was indifferent to it. 2)I was shown technical inspection just performed on my vehicle, everything was passed. However when I took my vehicle to have tires changed ( Canadian tire) I was told it needs break job immediately, took it to a second shop (kal tire) for wheels alignment and was told the same thing needs breaks ASAP, pads are making less than 50% contacts with rotors. So I took it back to dealer I was told that breaks are acceptable. I was told I’ll get a call back from a manager which never happened. 3) I was told I must buy $800 warranty for keyfob, and that everyone has to buy one, non negotiable. when I picked up my vehicle it came with a damaged keyfob. seemed a bid shady. Dealing with finance was the only positive experience there. More
