Beware: This dealership writes their own reviews after receiving a series of negative reviews. The reviews are written by the sale staff themselves. I had a horrible experience dealing with Kanesh K receiving a series of negative reviews. The reviews are written by the sale staff themselves. I had a horrible experience dealing with Kanesh Krishnapillai. Although my first experience stepping into a Chrysler dealership was not a positive one I ended up finding a dealer in the west end who was reasonably better and purchased my vehicle there. It was all smiles and compliments until it got down to the paperwork. Numbers ($) were exchanged and I simply asked for what might be a reasonable offer. At this point Kanesh went on a rant about how "car dealers have feelings as well" and essentially kicked me out of the dealership for the extremely low offer I had submitted. Humiliated and embarrassed and feeling dumb for making such a low ball offer on the vehicle I went home to re-evaluate my options. One week later I got the courage to start visiting multiple dealerships from Oshawa all the way to Hamilton and found one at the mid-way point and I made the same offer on the same vehicle that came with more options and lower km's. There was no haggling and my presumably low ball offer was accepted with out negotiation. It was at this moment I realized what kind of people work at Scarborotown. Ironically one week after purchasing the vehicle I got a call in the very car I purchased and utilized the fancy Bluetooth capability on the touchscreen and turns out it was Scarborotown Chrysler. The women was pleasant and wanted to know where I was in the car purchasing process and I told her that I had already purchased the car from another Chrysler dealer. Very condescendingly she asked "how much did you overpay for it?". I don't like being smug but I couldn't resist this time and told her I overpaid by a whopping $2,900.....discount. She quickly asked me if it was the colour I wanted or if I had to settle and when I confirmed that I got everything I wanted she couldn't hang up any faster knowing I paid less for a better and newer car. Breakdown: Scarborotown Chrysler: $24,900 (33,000 kms) and I purchased from another dealership for $22,000 (26,000 kms). I also agree with the poster below, some of the reviews seem highly suspect and I wouldn't be surprised if the dealer was submitting their own reviews. Take it from me, you will regret it if you go with this dealership. Do yourself a favor: price shop, know your stuff (knowledge is power), do not fall into pressure (if they want you to sign on the dotted line and you are not comfortable chances are they are not worth doing business with), don't get emotionally attached to the first car you see (take it from me, there are a million out there just like the one you want). All in all Chrysler has really become a good competitor in the domestic market (this is coming from a guy who drove a Nissan) and I'm pretty impressed with the quality of product that Detroit is coming out with these days. Scarborotown, I'm in the market for a Diesel Jeep Grand Cherokee and you still have the opportunity to make it right if you want to apologize. I'm pretty forgiving. Kanesh you might want to talk to people like they are humans, the next time your commission cheque is low take a hint and think before you yell at people. I can't complain about just you only as that you imply the entire dealership is polite but really when you walk in you can tell the people that work here are not very polished. More
