River City Ford train wreck River City Ford winnipeg. Took my car in for regular oil change. Their inspection revealed that repair was needed on both rear shocks and front end ou River City Ford winnipeg. Took my car in for regular oil change. Their inspection revealed that repair was needed on both rear shocks and front end outer tie rods. Included with that an upgrade to the computer module, recall on door latches and new key fob. I originally consented to this work. Service adviser "Jillian" was my contact. After mulling over the cost ( considerable ) I made a return call to "jillian" at River City Ford. In the second call l declined any mechanical work to be done on my car other than these three. Replace (4) door latches on recall. Tcm computer module upgrade. New key fob. I reminded them to call me when rental car and recall parts are available. Two days later I receive a call from service my parts are in. I call back and no rental car available. So I eventually take my car for those three items. When I go to pay my bill (1100) I found they replaced both rear shocks and both front outer tie rod ends! I told them rear shocks and tie rods were not authorized by me. They offered me a family discount for their incompetence! I told them they were going to eat that bill and I am walking out! I ended up with $1020 in free front and rear end work! No charge except 80 for new fob! This is what happens because they can't listen to the wants and needs of their customers .Watch this place! Shady tactics! P.S-took car to another shop two days later right tire rattle (River City Ford) only torqued right tire to 40 ft pounds! Second mechanic said recomended torque is 110ft pounds! My speakers also not working properly after they touched doors. What would have happened if I was a vulnerable customer? Would they have coerced the customer into paying the bill? Shame on you! Motto " do not pay for anything you did not authoriize."Still waiting for Service Manager to call me back. Not holding my breath. An extreme customer service train wreck on their end!
