My dad went to Peterborough Hyundai on Chemong Road to test drive a used vehicle he saw on their website. The car was brought out and he took it for a ride. He tried some of the features of the car such as the start button ignition and the heated steering wheel among others. He said he liked the car and put down a deposit. He came back the following week to complete the purchase of the car. He met with his salesman, Fadi. During the time they were completing the paperwork Fadi would leave the desk to talk to other customers and leave my dad sitting at his desk waiting for him. Not good customer service in my opinion. When all the paperwork was finally complete the car was ready for dad to take home. As dad was driving he realized this was not the same car he had test driven. There was no start button ignition and no heated steering wheel. I went back with dad the following day to speak to the general manager Dylan. We waited 1 hour and 5 minutes before Dylan came to speak with us. Again rude and terrible customer service. My dad explained he was not brought the used car from the ad to test drive. Dylan said my dad was confused and wrong and that he had test driven the same car he had purchased. My dad is 82 but not confused. I would like to think they weren't blaming my dad's age for the reason he was so called confused. In our opinion it looks like they "sold" my dad on the fancier model and then brought out the lower model that was in the ad after the purchase was complete. Dylan was adamant that the mistake was dad's and they didn't try to fool him. Dad is 100% positive they were not the same car and he is not mistaken and definitely not confused or forgetful. Dylan said he would speak to Fadi but was 99% sure my dad test drove the same car. Dad has heard nothing from them since. The phrase "bait and switch" comes to mind. I hope it wasn't because of dad's age. More

Peterborough Hyundai uses predatory sales tactics and “payment packing” to highly inflate their bottom line. A handshake deal from salesman Jake Turner approved by sales manager Karl Zaman of all in cash “payment packing” to highly inflate their bottom line. A 3 hour finance session with Samira Karim left us with almost 15000$ in add ons. Always focusing on monthly payments instead of of actual cost caused us to lose site of the original deal. Please be very aware of this dealerships practices or do yourself a favour and shop elsewhere. These people are not your friends only interested in your dollars. My air con stopped working. Had to pay $250. for a diagnostic and was quoted $1700. to fix it. I declined. Went to another garage and it was totally fixed for under $200. Returned to get my tires changed over as I had stored my tires there. Made a 9 am appt as I had a 10:30 meeting to attend. An hour later my car hadn't even been brought in. Like a Seinfeld episode, they know how to take an appt but not how to keep an appt. When I complained they said I could just get my tires back and leave, which I happily did. I do not recommend this service department. More

We were charged extra ($1105)on a used car for a rust prevention device that was pre-installed (i.e. already paid for by the original owner). We failed to read the fine print ( my eyes don't focus proper prevention device that was pre-installed (i.e. already paid for by the original owner). Legally, they can probably get away with what they did, but these people are even more dishonest and unethical than the average car dealer. More

Absolutely appalling service at Peterborough Hyundai. Our vehicle broke down and was towed there for a warranty repair, but they left it sitting for 10 days while prioritizing tire changes. After finally replacing the defective ICCU and 12V battery, they neglected to refill the battery coolant. On our way home, the car repeatedly overheated, forcing dangerous highway stops. Another dealership quickly identified the empty coolant reservoir, costing us two days of rental fees and additional mechanic expenses. Peterborough Hyundai initially promised reimbursement but then refused to answer our calls. Avoid this dealership at all costs—even if your car is towed there, paying extra to redirect it elsewhere is completely worth it. More
