Big Business Behaving Badly! Feels like yesterday, Big Business Behaving Badly! Feels like yesterday, June 2012, when we purchased our new Prius C at O’Ripoff (oops, sorry….. that should read “O’Reg Big Business Behaving Badly! Feels like yesterday, June 2012, when we purchased our new Prius C at O’Ripoff (oops, sorry….. that should read “O’Regan”) Halifax Toyota. Back then they tried to dupe us out of an extra $254 (plus tax!) for their useless and unnecessary “Platinum Security Protection” package (NICE TRY GUYS!). CBC Marketplace did a program on a similar product; just Google "Marketplace car theft deterrent" and see for yourself. (We think Marketplace and/or GoPublic will like this next story too.) Well, guess what…..they’re at it again! Here’s the latest O’Regan cash grab: We purchased 4 new non-O'Regan winter rims and made an appointment with O’Regan Toyota Dartmouth to supply and install 4 of their winter Michelins. When they gave us the quote to supply & install their tires to our rims there was no mention of any other requirements or conditions of any kind…..NONE! So on November 13th 2013 we dropped off the car at the dealership. Now, here comes the shakedown: Around 9 AM we got a phone call from an O'Regan Toyota Service Advisor, who said we must purchase 4 Toyota tire pressure monitors (TPM's) for our new winter rims before they will mount their new winter Michelins and the cost will be an additional $320 plus tax! Now, why in blue blazes wouldn’t they have mentioned this to us when the appointment was initially made, ie: before we brought the car and rims in to them in the first place? Well, we know the answer to that question and we're quite sure you can figure it out too. Needless to say, our winter rims were returned for a full refund (yes Mr. Car Dealership, there are still a few businesses out there who know what the words "Customer Service" mean) and O’Regan's ended up just installing their winter Michelins onto our original already-monitored rims. Now, get a load of this! We have since been in contact with no less than 6 other 'non-O’Regan' Nova Scotia Toyota dealerships, plus Canadian Tire, and guess how many of these folks would try to lure you into purchasing and installing 4 TPM’s: NONE! NIL! ZIPPO! NADA! And the story doesn’t end there; during our investigation we came to find out that putting new TPM’s on our winter rims would have meant another additional initial TPM programming charge of - are you sitting down? - …..$75.00! Oh, and before we forget, from then on, every time you go to O’Regan's (likely twice a year) to flip your rims you’ll get nailed an extra $29.95 each time because they will have to re-program your TPM system with each visit! Can you believe this? Great business, eh! In conclusion, here’s the deal folks: next time we purchase a new vehicle it will not be from O'Regan's Automotive Group. And next Fall when we buy 4 new winter rims they will not come from O'Regan's. And next time we need new tires they will not come from O'Regan's. Great products - no problem with O’Regan Toyota Service or Parts people - they're only trying to enforce O’Regan’s shameful money-grabbing in-house policies. And you know what?.....we feel sorry for them. More
This is the second vehicle I have bought from Cali Wagner and I hope she never retires! She is friendly, knowledgeable and will get you the best deal. We had no idea how well our day would turn out when we drove in to look at the Highlander which we had coveted and wanted to own.We would like to thank Seun for allowing us to drive it and reaffirm that i drove in to look at the Highlander which we had coveted and wanted to own.We would like to thank Seun for allowing us to drive it and reaffirm that it was the car for us.We would also like to thank him for steering us to Codey who went above and beyond to get it for us.We had met Codey 2 years before in the hopes of getting a Highlander then but it wasn't a financial fit and we really appreciated his efforts then on our behalf and he didn't disappoint this time either.He worked really hard to get us the best possible deal he could and we were in constant contact with him through the whole process.If you want to be made to feel important and well taken care of as a customer this is the dealership for you.We hope to have a long relationship with OREGAN'S and we are very relieved to be driving in a vehicle that we trust .Thanks again Codey and Seun. I visited the dealership today to get my car serviced and look at a new car. When I was in the show room I could not find a sales person on the floor. I asked the attendant if any sales people were availab look at a new car. When I was in the show room I could not find a sales person on the floor. I asked the attendant if any sales people were available she indicated that they were in a sales meeting and offered to call have one of the sales people leave the meeting. I had indicated that I would be back in the afternoon and would speak to somebody at that time. I has just returned from visiting the showroom and this time they were sales people on the floor however one was with another couple and the others were joking with each other leaning on the front showroom windows while another was at his desk cruising the internet. I stood by the RAV4 that I was interested in purchasing and waited to see if any one of these salesmen would ask me if I needed any assistance. I sat in the vehicle that I was looking at, opened the trunk, walked over and picked out the brochure for the vehicle; still the sales people did not offer any assistance (the jokes/internet must have been interesting). In conclusion the Sales people that worked at Dartmouth Toyota today appeared not to be sales people but just ORDER TAKERS. The service department of the dealership provides very good service; maybe they should be working on the sales side. While I am loyal to the Toyota Brand is sickens me that I have to buy the product from O'Regans. I am considering purchasing from another manufacturer at this time. More
This is the fifth car we have bought from O'Regans and that in itself is an indication of our experience over the years. We can honestly say we have not had a complaint either about our cars or the staff that in itself is an indication of our experience over the years. We prefer a salesperson who isn't pushy and Neil's low key approach suited us. He came across as a very honest and genuine young man. More
