Worth the ferry trip! The short story: I don’t write a lot of online reviews, but occasionally someone goes way above and beyond and I feel compelled to let people know—and The short story: I don’t write a lot of online reviews, but occasionally someone goes way above and beyond and I feel compelled to let people know—and to thank the business. This was by far the best experience we had at a dealer in our fairly extensive search for a minivan. It was well worth the trip from the Island over to the mainland and we’re still talking about how well we were treated, how understanding everyone at the dealer was, and the great deal we received. From top to bottom—from General Manager Tom to Floor Manager Marco to the salesmen Ian and Jacob—it was a truly a great experience and shattered most of our stereotypes of what it’s like to buy a new car from a dealer. The longer story: The reason we were first even interested in this dealer despite it being on the mainland was there was a brand new but older model van (Sedona) that was very reasonably priced. What I appreciated about working with Ian was that he was one of the few I worked with who was actually willing to negotiate a full, all-in, out-the-door price before I even came to the dealer. So many others would only give vague numbers and then ask me to come on in to talk, but I usually wouldn’t visit until I could get a real number and then decide if the vehicle was a realistic possibility within our budget. As we continued to search and consider a trip to the mainland, Ian was proactive at keeping in touch, seeking needed information from us such as information about our trade-in so he could get an accurate estimate, and always quickly responding to our questions via phone, email, and text. Since this was a big purchase for us and because Ian kept in good communication, we decided it was worth the trip to the mainland to check things out. It’s a bit of a long story what happened and too long to repeat here, but the short story is the older model was missing a few features we thought it had, one being a back-up camera which was on our non-negotiable list. We weren’t in any way upset as no one tried to deceive us in any way; we had all simply overlooked a few things and assumed the other knew some things about the van. We would have left with no hard feelings, still glad we checked it out even though it wasn’t going to work for us. However, from that point on everyone at the dealership went way out of their way and promised to make things right and make it worth our trip from the Island. I was skeptical that was possible, but the dealer—particularly Marco at this point—was very thoughtful and compassionate. They definitely cared that we had come a long way and that we were disappointed. They more than made things right . . . they sent us home extremely happy with a better deal than the one we even came for. Everyone got in on the action including Tom playing with our kids and keeping them happy, Jacob checking in on us and keeping us hydrated (even stocking our new vehicle with water bottle), and of course Ian spent his whole entire day with us from 10:30-5:30 keeping us informed and answering questions while everything was happening. At the end of the day it couldn’t have been more worth the trip (and Tom even made sure all our ferry expenses were covered for the whole family!). A few other notes and experiences that broke our stereotypes about working with a dealer: • The final price we agreed on was in fact the final price we paid. No surprises, no added extras later on. • We were not pressured in the least bit to add anything extra on top of the agreed-on price. • I’ve been told dealers don’t like cash buyers and will pressure them to finance. Not once did anyone ask us to finance or try to push us in that direction. Once they knew we were cash buyers, it was never an issue, and I really appreciated that (lots of the other dealers did push us toward financing). As I said we went to several other dealers and even negotiated price at several other places, but Kia Richmond ended up superior in pretty much every category. More

Aidin was very honest and direct when dealing with offer for the car, I could get a fair price and lots of benefits, like oil/filter change and car wash for lifetime! Both were great during all the selling and negotiation process. I'm very happy with the purchase and definitely would recommend this dealer and both of them. All other staff are very friendly too. Great experience overall. More

Though we were late for our pick-up appointment we were still treated with respect and treated as if we were about to buy the priciest model on the floor.
