Engine light on. Diagnosis: timing chain and a wide variety of fluid leaks. Total est. $ 5,700. First problem: 112 km for a timing chain is hard to believe. This says to me that the engine has an inherent flaw or the timing chain has a manufactures defect. Either way I shouldn't be paying for a timing chain at 112000 kms. Second problem: I park this truck in a clean garage. There's never been a drop of any kind of fluid on the floor of my garage to date. If there are all these leaks, how is this possible ? The fluid levels are never down. It cost $165 to get the codes read. That, considering the amount of effort and time involved is not a good value. This entire estimate looks like a attempt to drum up business in a probably very slow shop, Unfortunately, this is being done at great expense to myself. I had them remove the code and if and when I get a check engine light again I will be taking it to another dealership for a second opinion . That will be the litmus test which will tell me the level of integrity at your dealership. I suspect Freedom Ford will not fair well in this regard . I suspect that all the fluid leaks diagnose exaggerated or fictional. I, and the rest of the members of my company, who drive a lot of Fords,will not be back. More
