I’ve had good experiences with the service team here, but the experience with purchasing a new vehicle was super disappointing. The purchase of a new vehicle should be an exciting and celebratory time but it the experience with purchasing a new vehicle was super disappointing. The purchase of a new vehicle should be an exciting and celebratory time but it was the opposite of that. We drove from Calgary for our 1pm appointment and did not get back to Calgary until after 5pm. We found out AFTER signing all of the paperwork that the new EV purchased was sitting at 20% battery. The sales woman knew we were coming in from Calgary and she didn’t bother to check that the vehicle was charged before the appointment to pick up the new vehicle. As initial compensation for this oversight, they provided us with ~$180 trunk liners and directed us to the Shell station across the street to charge the vehicle and told that it would take 40 minutes to charge. Upon arriving at the Shell station, we discovered the vehicle could not connect to the fast charger without a specific adapter. At no point during the sales process or the vehicle walk-through were we informed that this adapter was required, that it was not included with the vehicle, or that it came at an additional cost. By the time we finished charging the vehicle to 100% with the adapter we had to purchase, it was 4:30pm. When I tried to discuss the ordeal with the sales person on the phone, she was dismissive. Told me I was “talking in circles”. Tried to blame other members of the team. Asked me if we went to the right charging station and did not seem to be aware that a specific adapter is required at some charging stations. Given she is the sales person for EV’s, we would have expected her to know this. She told me we could’ve driven home on 20%. It was frustrating that she tried to dictate how much battery we "need" for the rest of our day—completely ignoring that we had a life, errands, and plans outside of just driving straight back to Calgary. She defensively claimed we were already “super compensated” because of the trunk liners. It felt unreasonable to use an initial gesture of goodwill to dismiss a subsequent $360 surprise expense, poor advice, and hours of lost time. It would have saved us a lot of time to have purchased a vehicle from a dealership in Calgary instead. A brand-new vehicle should be delivered fully charged, and customers should never be blindsided by the cost of essential charging equipment after the paperwork is signed. What should have been an exciting milestone was overshadowed by the severe lack of preparation and communication from the sales team. Was planning on purchasing a new RAV4 from here in the future but this experience has changed my mind. I’ve had better purchasing experiences at used car lots. How disappointing. More

Megan was equally great to work with—very friendly and efficient in handling the registration and payment process. The service team also made getting the accessories installed quick and easy. We’ve serviced multiple vehicles at Cochrane Toyota over the years, and this is the third vehicle we’ve purchased from them. With service like this, I honestly can’t see buying a vehicle anywhere else. Highly recommended! More
Stacey Dubé sold me a used truck with a full inspection report that said it was good to go. I asked her that when I travel from Edmonton to make the purchase, that it be left outside so I could hear the en report that said it was good to go. When I arrived the truck was in a warm shop after being started and driven that morning. Her and the managers Ryan Baum and David Labindao promised up and down that there were no issues and it was passed all inspections with flying colors. So, I decided to trust them, did the paperwork and drove it back to Edmonton. Went to cold start it the next day and the starter made a loud aweful clanging sound. I sent them videos and they swore they didn't hear anything of the kind, not Stacey, not even the mechanic. So the manager offered me $100 to cover the deductable for the extended warranty I purchased through them so I could have it fixed at a shop here in Edmonton. Only the warranty doesn't cover the starter or flex plate because they are wearable items. They also dont cover the cost of diagnosing anything so that was an extra $420 I had to fork out. The shop I took it to showed pictures of missing teeth on the flex plate and worn teeth on the starter and replacing them is over $2500 - which is not covered by the warranty. The shop also said the truck needs an additional $5500 worth of engine work to replace the cam-phasers and timing chain - of which the warranty would only cover $2500 (per claim), even though I paid over $2900 for the extended warranty. In total the truck needs over $8400 in work and $420 in diagnosticss coming to $9220 and the warranty only covers $2500 of that. Oh but Cochrane managers offered me $100 to smooth things over. They lied on the inspection form, were deceptive with the cold start, sold me a pretty useless warranty and now they won't even return my calls. Im not asking for the moon here but they should at least cover the starter issue because THAT was obvious on day 1. Aweful place and shady practices. More

I purchased a Toyota Tundra at Cochrane Toyota this past summer and had an amazing experience. Where this has all come off the rails for me is at the time I purchased a topper through Cochrane Toyota. The summer and had an amazing experience. Where this has all come off the rails for me is at the time I purchased a topper through Cochrane Toyota. They use a 3rd party supplied for this. I was supposed to have the topper in 4 to 6 weeks. That was the last weekend of July and still no topper. No one seems to want to help. Not Toyota who uses this company or the 3rd party supplier. If you want a topper might be a good idea to shop on your own. More

I travelled 2800 km to purchase this vehicle after being referred by a friend who has dealt with the dealer for years. The trip was worth the time and effort. Setting up the deal at a distance was made easy by Jeff Decter who was forthright in discussing pricing and responding to my initial questions and several follow up ones promptly and specifically. The whole process was low pressure. Jeff followed up on a number of after purchase requests patiently and quickly (including shipping some bulky items I'd forgotten in my traded vehicle at dealer expense). There was no smoke and mirrors in the deal, no "oh by the way..." surprise add ons or upselling, and my trade-in vehicle was credited as discussed before on-site inspection. All in all, I was more than satisfied with the transaction and am happy to recommend the dealership as represented by Jeff Decter. More
