They tried to rip us off My wife bought a new Santa Fe June 2012 from Clarington Hyndai, we went back March 24, 2017 to trade it in and buy a 2017, they offered her $4,000.00 My wife bought a new Santa Fe June 2012 from Clarington Hyndai, we went back March 24, 2017 to trade it in and buy a 2017, they offered her $4,000.00 for her vehicle, it is 5 yrs, old and has 115,246 km, she says no, so then they offer $6,000.00, she says no and leaves, she goes and waits in the car for me, so just before I leave, they say to me okay we will give you $9,800.00, so I said I will have to ask my wife it is her vehicle, and she is buying the new one, I drive an F150 so this was for her, she said no way, if they had of made the right offer to start with and not try to steal her money we where ready to sign and buy that day, pretty xxxxty experience considering we when back to buy a second vehicle from them and they thought we would settle for $4,000.00, when within 10 minutes they had the amount up to $9,800.00, she will not deal with them again, we will find a different Dealer, She now knows why these car sales men get branded as xxxxxxxx and thieves, the guy we dealt with is Andrew so beware. over all bad experience go find a different dealer. Unrespectful staff! I went in to buy Santafe XL Limited 2017... for you who don't know this is a 50K+ car. In other words I am paying you $50,000 so you better be respect I went in to buy Santafe XL Limited 2017... for you who don't know this is a 50K+ car. In other words I am paying you $50,000 so you better be respectful! They asked me if I've any offers I said yes... 48K for a demo (from one of my friends) and 50K for a brand new... They were like if we beat this price would you buy today, I said yes, initial here!! Weird but there you go Then my wife calls found another Demo in Toronto for 47K also through a friend So I told him if you offer me a brand new for a cheaper price I am signing in - Today!!! He is like ok how much would you pay?! I said shall I put any number? He said yes ok so I put $46,500 Brand new all in or within this range because if he is offering $46,500 for a Demo I would still go with my friend from Toronto (For $500 dollars I would do business with my friend) Again he asked will you sign today?! I said yes Initial here!!! I was like wierd but there you go He came back sorry we won't be matching this price... Now it's my turn... what's the lowest you can offer... Yeah we won't be offering any price!!! Ok hand me the papers I initialled He said, If you still want to come back to us if you didn't buy any we would be happy to help I said... Definitely I won't be even stepping here again!!! Those A... holes dealt with me like I am begging for money! I am buying a 50,000 car probably more than your house income in a year! But unlike some I respect my money because I work hard for it... It's not a bad thing trying to get the best deal... I wasted 90 minutes in this place and I left with not even an offer so that I can come back to!!! Please don't go there if you care about your money!!! More

I decided I liked the look of the elantra and I found an affordable one with good kilometers online at Clarington Hyundai so I called ahead and asked to come in for a test drive. When I arrived, I walked into a non-intimidating atmosphere and was introduced to Steve who was going to help me with the Elantra I was asking about. Steve was professional, patient and a lot of fun to work with. I really appreciated his style of service. He answered all of my questions candidly and I was confident that he knew what he was talking about. Most importantly, he wasn't pushy. After my test drive and a little bit of negotiating back and forth, we shook hands and took a winning picture together in front of my new car (he was a really good sport!). I have since picked up the vehicle. It was beautifully cleaned and felt like new. Steve has assured me I can call him anytime I have any questions or concerns about the car. So far, so good; but I feel good believing that the support will be there should I need it. Thanks Steve (and Geoff!) at Clarington Hyundai. I truly enjoyed my experience with you. I would recommend anyone to your location. More

While I can understand the positive reviews of the sales side(our experience has been overwhelmingly positive), we found there to be a large performance gap between sales and service departments. Service is miles behind in terms of attentiveness and thinking about the customer. Whether it was lacking of the basic ability to contact us when accessories we ordered arrived (hey, have you heard of email...or even the phone? How about an automated system?), or having appointments that were booked and noted in OUR calendar only to show up and there to be no record of it - very odd, and even a THREE hour wait for an early morning scheduled oil change - not telling my wife that they were down a mechanic and that maybe she should come back later...really? Come on. THAT'S customer service? These are a few of the tales over the years and there was little improvement over time. While there were some moments of competence I have to say our overwhelming impression is a negative one. A stark contrast to the sale pros. It actually made me move away from the brand this last purchase. I still think Hyundai cars are a fantastic value, but this dealership doesn't reinforce it with good customer relations skills on the Service side of the business. I'd look elsewhere for your service needs if at all possible. More
