My engine light was on and Onstar said that I had a couple cylinders misfiring. I booked an appointment and brought my SUV in at 8:30am. I asked if they would be done by the end of the day and told the couple cylinders misfiring. I booked an appointment and brought my SUV in at 8:30am. I asked if they would be done by the end of the day and told them that I lived in Leduc so I would need it for my drive home or would need to make other arrangements. They said 'I don't know why it wouldn't be done by the end of the day'. They called at 2:30pm and said the $480 quote they told me would be $900 due to having to take something out to get to the cylinders. I asked if they would be done by the end of the day and he said 'yes, it will be done by 5pm or 5:30pm. He called me half an hour later and told me they would need to keep it over night. I reminded him that I lived in Leduc and that I needed a way to get home as I didn't make any other arrangements since they told me twice that my vehicle would be ready by the end of the day. He seeemed annoyed and said he would have to go see if they could stop what they were doing and put it back together so I could bring it in the next morning which they ended up doing. The next morning, the guy I dealt with wasn't there and another one said that a gal was looking after his customers. He couldn't find her and after about 15 min, I said I needed to get to work and I just wanted to give him my keys. He finally found me in the computer and took my keys. When I returned to pick it up at the end of the day, there was someone spraying down the floor and it was back spraying a lot. He looked at me and didn't turn it off until one of the girls was yelling at him to turn it off so I could walk through. He turned it off and back on again before I walked through, unbelievable! The girl asked me to come to the office to pay and apologized for him but I still couldn't believe how ignorant that was. I have bought two vehicles (Montana and Enclave) from Southgate and I have used the service department many times. They are usually really great to deal with but this time I was really disappointed. The staff are very nice overall but they could have given me options such as a rental after they took my vehicle apart and weren't able to complete the work that day after I had asked about it twice. The guy washing the floor was the most annoying as that was just ignorant. I apologize for not providing names. I know a couple of them gave me their business cards but unfortunately I didn't keep them. Again, it's not that they weren't friendly, it was more the events and the way they dealt with them that weren't great or what I expect from Southgate. More

I was thrilled that the cost of the service was low as I was expecting a major problem with my engine. I would have a little more peace of mind if I knew what caused the oil to leak but I am certain that t was expecting a major problem with my engine. I gave the rating I gave because there is a small issue to be worked out yet. The command start that I had installed seems to be installed a little bit backwards. It would be better if it worked with the vehicle locked. I have a phone call in to the parts department to help me solve this problem. The work was done off-site so it sort of isn't a mistake made by Southgate. More
I have rated this dealership and employees as #5 throughout. This dealership has the 'entire package', bright, clean, modern and most importantly a very friendly and accomodating staff. Regardless of department, everyone is friendly and goes above and beyond to ensure the experience is excellent. As a customer, I am always greeted with a smile and on a first name basis. Employees are aware of my expectations and go above and beyond to ensure they are met. I am proud to and have referred many customers who have always come back to me to explain what a exemplary experience they have had. The majority of my dealings are with Doug Macleod and his staff. I can always go to them and, regardless of what I am looking for, they always are able to locate and attain for me. It is my 'one stop' shop !! I have had several encounters with the parts and service department over the last year, most of which related to my purchase of a LS crate engine, ECU, and accessories. Early on I had dealings with Doug an department over the last year, most of which related to my purchase of a LS crate engine, ECU, and accessories. Early on I had dealings with Doug and but for the most part I dealt with Amanda. Both individuals were great, from providing competitor matched pricing to direct to home delivery, to no hassle exchange of my accessory kit, to ordering in auxillary components for me to consider for my swap project without me even committing to purchase. I contacted them on several occasions for part numbers and availabilities. On more than one occasion I purchased a component to see if it would work for my custom application, but later had to return. Everything was always no hassle. Amanda was always quick to respond to my requests. They even set up an appointment for me to speak at length with Derrick in the service department for direction, advise, and referals to help me complete my first crate swap project. Within this time I also bought my Chevy suburban in for an oil change and to touble shoot certian features that no longer work. Again, positive experience. More
