We purchased a 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali from this dealership after being assured it had been safetied and was ready to go. Shortly after bringing it home, we noticed discoloration in the rear head dealership after being assured it had been safetied and was ready to go. Because the truck had a strong cigar smoke odour and had supposedly been detailed before delivery, we initially assumed it was a detailing issue. When we raised the concern, we felt dismissed. The dealership later suggested we had left the sunroof open and rain had caused the damage, which was simply untrue. Less than two weeks after purchase, and after driving only about 830 km, the truck developed an oil leak. We contacted the dealership immediately but were only told the concern would be noted on our file and to monitor the oil level. We were not advised to bring it back for inspection or offered any assistance. Since we live 2.5 hours away and were not comfortable driving a leaking vehicle that distance, we had it inspected at our local GMC dealership. They diagnosed a failed rear main seal, resulting in a repair bill of $1,890.72. After obtaining a copy of the safety inspection work order, we were surprised to find an oil leak had already been documented during the safety inspection, after which an engine shampoo was given. This made it especially concerning that our report of the leak shortly after purchase was not taken more seriously. We attempted to resolve the matter directly with the dealership. After sending a registered letter, the General Manager called, said he would investigate, and promised to follow up. More than three weeks later, we have still received no response. We chose this dealership because of its emphasis on family values and customer service. We understand that used vehicles can have unexpected mechanical issues, but how those issues are handled matters. Unfortunately, our concerns were repeatedly dismissed rather than addressed, leaving us no choice but to pursue the matter through OMVIC. More
