end of my relationship with Ford - Jackthedripper
Looking for an F150 I started off near the bottom. 2018, Supercab and running boards. I didn’t care for anything exotic. I got a quote, then went away to contemplate. I came back in a few days and mentioned that I had forgotten that I had seen the GPS on a few friend’s Fords and had made my mind up that I wanted that option as well. I was told that the GPS option put the vehicle into a higher options range. $10,000 higher according to the window stickers. I had determined that I had some wiggle room financially and gave the go ahead for the Crewcab with GPS and whatever else came with it.
When I picked up the truck I was led to believe that Google Maps coming off the salesman’s cell phone was the GPS I had paid for. When I pointed this out a few days later I was told that the GPS could be added by an after market company. Five weeks later I heard that the cost of this correction would be $2300 and Ridgewood would eat $1500 of the cost leaving me with a charge of $800.
I was told that the $800 was what the option would have cost from Ford, so in reality, I was just paying for the GPS that I had requested and paid $10,000 for.
I have had no enjoyment from this disgraceful business. Nor have I had any satisfaction from Ridgewood, Moynes Ford in Lindsay or Ford Corporate.
I suggest to anyone looking to purchase a vehicle in the future to take your business elsewhere.
A loyal Ford customer since 1976. Incidentally I love my new truck. I hope it lasts a long time because it is the last Ford I will ever buy.
