I brought my vehicle to Subaru City for a pulling concern - ForesterAdventurer
I brought my vehicle to Subaru City for a pulling concern and left feeling like I had walked into a sales funnel disguised as a service department. I was handed a massive list of expensive “urgent” repairs totaling thousands of dollars and told my vehicle was unsafe to drive unless the work was done. That kind of fear-based pressure tactic is unacceptable, especially from a dealership customers are supposed to trust for honest advice.
The Sales department was no better. After being contacted about trading in my fully paid-off Forester, I clearly explained I was interested in a larger 7-seater Subaru with similar safety features. Once it became obvious there was no quick, easy sale to close, the interest disappeared. No real follow-up, no effort, no customer care.
This wasn’t even my first disappointing impression. On previous after-hours service pick-up visits, the sales floor has felt lifeless and disengaged, with staff appearing completely uninterested in the customers already in the building.
Subaru City seems far more focused on extracting as much money as possible in Service while putting in minimal effort in Sales. That is a terrible combination. As a current Subaru owner who was actively considering buying another Subaru, this experience did more to push me away from the brand than bring me back.
