Recent Experience February 2025
I recently purchased a used Jetta from this dealership. The salesman ensured me that the vehicle was mechanically sound, reliable and ready to drive off the lot. Unfortunately, this was incorrect. Within the first 10 kms of driving the vehicle, I noticed a constant sound, indicating the car was not in prime condition. I contacted the dealership right away, asking to have this sound inspected. Note this was the day I picked up the car. After some back and forth, the dealership finally agreed to look at the car. After an entire day, I was informed the dealership was unable to determine what was wrong with my car. In fact, when I went to pick it up, they told me nothing was wrong with it but the sound was still there. I called for the mechanics to come back out and they did agree the sound was not normal and they would need to look at it again. I dropped the car off a few days later, which required me to miss yet another day of work. I was told the AC compressor belt and tensioner need to be replaced and was quoted $1250.00.
This entire experience has been extremely disappointing as I feel I participated in a dishonest deal. The reluctance for the dealership to look at my car, their apparent disinterest, or perhaps incompetence, in correctly diagnosing my car, and then charging me an absorbent price to fix something they likely knew was wrong with the car when they sold it to me demonstrates extremely distasteful business practices.
