Poor Workmanship & Shocking Technical Claims at West Side Acura
Proceed with extreme caution when servicing your vehicle here. My 2013 Acura RDX suffered severe oil overfills during routine oil changes at West Side Acura, with the dipstick reading way past the MAX crosshatch mark up to the "RCA" lettering.
This repeated crankcase overfill/pressurization resulted in a blown rear main seal ($2,800 CAD repair quote). When I confronted Service Manager Chris Mani with photos of the overfilled dipstick and the massive leak underneath my vehicle, his response was that filling oil up to the letters is "normal" because the oil pressure light on the dashboard didn't come on.
Claiming that an oil pressure light (which only triggers during low oil pressure/starvation) measures oil overfill is an unbelievable lack of basic mechanical knowledge for a factory dealership. Instead of taking responsibility for poor workmanship, I was offered a minor $400 discount.
I would like to escalate this matter directly to AMVIC and Acura Canada Client Relations, but I am leaving this review on your conscience and for all your visitors and prospective customers to see how you operate.
I sincerely hope both AMVIC and Acura Canada see this review and take a very close look at how this dealership handles service quality and customer accountability. Photos attached.
P.S. On a separate note, Guruparan and Tetiana — you both do your jobs exceptionally well, and I have absolutely no complaints regarding your work.
