This past winter I became interested in a Cadillac ATS. I loved my big Cadillac, but I wanted something smaller. The ATS seemed to fill the bill. After doing my research and talking to the Cadillac representative at the Auto Show, I visited GSL GM City. They had taken very good care of my car, and I still had some questions and options to consider. I met Ron Madsen who was able to answer my questions and set me up to test drive the two models I was considering. he understood what I was looking for right away and knew his inventory. Knowing they did not have the car I wanted in Calgary, he found it in Edmonton within minutes, even though they were having computer problems that day. They arranged to bring it to Calgary, and he worked with Joe Cuckow to put together a deal satisfactory to all. When my car arrived, Ron spent over an hour familiarizing me with all the new systems. He had already bookmarked pertinent pages in the Manual for me, which has been a great help. He must have been a teacher in another life since he was able to get the information across to me. Hugh Dixon processed the paperwork and had everything ready to go on delivery day - even the registration and insurance were arranged with a couple of telephone calls. All in all, it was a fun experience buying a new car from Ron and Joe and Hugh. And they even threw in a few laughs! More

Randy Balkenstein's sales service is the best I have ever experienced in the 40 years my wife and I have been buying or leasing vehicles . Randy's knowledge of the Cadillac product and his enthusiasm ar ever experienced in the 40 years my wife and I have been buying or leasing vehicles . Randy's knowledge of the Cadillac product and his enthusiasm are outstanding. Very personable,soft spoken and patient with our questions and timeline for making our final vehicle selection. Randy's sales style is assertive and very helpful but not aggressive for a sale and that approach was most appreciated by my wife and I . Randy positions himself as working for the customer in finding the best vehicle and deal terms for us . Randy softly introduces competition for the available vehicles by citing end of year stock drawdown encouraging folks to move forward in making their selection . Also framed the Cadillac as luxury sports car in the company of Benz and BMW which makes you feel good about our choice. GSL should be proud to have Randy Balkenstein's on their team. Our previous car had died and I wanted to go back to owning a domestic car. We had looked at a number of dealerships and cars, and decided to check out GSL as well. The online experience of looking at the used vehicles was what really got us into the store to begin with. The call back about booking the time to come in and look at the cars we had selected was a good start to the buying experience. Joe Champion had looked at what else was in stock, aside from what we had requested to look at. The cars were what I had come to know driving them around for various test drives and rentals: solid, comfortable. Having the extra options for what we were looking at for a replacement vehicle made it really easy to compare what we were looking at getting. Our research has also provided us with a really good sense that our purchase is going to be long term reliable, and costs would be reasonable. Getting to look at the options between the two vehicles, the plusses and the minuses between them, helped to solidify our decision. Joe gave us a good walk through of the new car when we came in to pick it up on Saturday, June 8. He also gave us a walk through of the processes when we need to bring the car in for service. I would look forward to working with Joe again on any future purchases, or directing any one I know that is looking for a car to him. Hugh Dixon worked with us to help get the financing and the warranties that we needed. Hugh really helped to set us on a path of low worry about any possible issues we may have with the vehicle. He did a great job of giving us the options, and the information that we needed to make a clear decision on how we wanted and were best served for follow. All of the help and information helped to make us feel very confident and satisfied with the purchase. It was great to see both Joe and Hugh when we came in to pick up the car and get the final paperwork signed.Overall, while a car buying experience has been very stressful and a source of anxiety, this was one of the most pleasurable buying experiences we have had. I originnaly visited GSL looking for a preowned vehicle. I met Joe Champion who showed me a couple of vehicles i was interested in. He asked me if i was open to another suggestion and i said yes. He was not pushy at all in his sales pitch which i very much appreciated, I decided to take it for a test drive and immediately fell in love with the car. Decided to get the paperwork rolling right away as i was on a time crunch and needed a vehicle. For financing I met Brenda Monz, who has this super bubbly personality and seems to have the answers to almost everything you can ask her. She was upfront and honest about my credit situation and did not try to give me false hope but told me she would do whatever she could for me. After the paperwork was done i left for home and not even two hours later i got a call and i was told that i was approved and that they would have the car ready for me the following morning. Both Brenda and Joe were fantastic to deal with. They went above and beyond what their expected jobs are. The dealership industry needs more people like these two. Even after obtaining the car the service has been great. Bringing the car in to have a car package put on and i was given a loaner vehicle for the day. You definately dont feel like your just a number here. Great Job Brenda and Joe! I will be dealing with you both next time i come back :) More
Bill Liske is an amazing customer service person. We made our decision and he helped make the financing process easier as he promptly gave all required information to that department. One quick phone call to Hugh in finance everything was set in motion. When we arrived to pick up the vehicle we popped in and signed documents made painless and effortless by Doug Roy. Bill Liske went over every feature the vehicle had to offer and demonstrated them all and effectively answered any questions that came up. Bill goes above and beyond --an example of this is taking the time to insert sticky labeled page tab markers for future reference on the owners manual for important information you may require. All his efforts our greatly appreciated. More
During May 2013, I went to GSL intent on purchasing a new Cadillac CTS-V resulting from the exceptional service that I always received from their service department. After an exhaustive search across Canada with Joe Champion for an acceptable color and trim level, it was determined that a 2013 CTS-V was not in my near future. I switched gears and decided to consider a Camaro SS convertible. GSL had several colors and trim levels available for delivery to me within 4 days. Joe Champion and Joe Cuckow (general sales manager) worked together to established an exceptionally fair and reasonable purchase price for the Camaro SS with minimal price haggling. During the sales / purchase process, Joe Champion was very friendly and accommodating ensuring that I viewed several Camaro SS colors and trim levels. Also, GSL provided a fair value for my trade-in that fully met my expectations with no haggling. Brenda Monz, the financial service manager, provided a very friendly and warm environment to consummate the transaction that proceeded seamlessly. Also, the aftermarket protection package was very well priced, so I decided to proceed with GSL for the protection package rather than take the vehicle to an alternate supplier. I would highly recommend anyone who is seeking to purchase a GM product to do so at GSL with Joe Champion and staff. GSL provides a low pressure and friendly environment for your vehicle purchase experience. GSL's Service department provides exceptional work at a very reasonable price as experienced from their service work on several Cadillacs, a Pontiac Solstice and an Oldsmobile Silhouette I previously owned. Buyers should always get the Carproof, mechanical inspection and registration beforehand whether a car is purchased from an individual or a dealership. GSL has recognized their errors, and has committed to rectifying them - a sign of a good company. I would purchase another vehicle from GSL if they had what I was looking for. More
We were in the market to begin looking for a replacement SUV for my wife. Our existing Buick Enclave -- while luxurious and well appointed was simply too fuel hungry for us to run on a regular basis. Being large and somewhat difficult to maneuver/park was also another factor. We contacted both GSL and our original GM dealership to see if we could arrange to sell the vehicle and look into GM and non-GM brands. With GSL and Randy, they loved our SUV and was willing to buy it from us regardless if we chose a replacement from GM or not. The consultative approach used by Randy to help us come to an agreement on the sale and look into other potentials was not only appreciated but came off as friendly, informative, non-aggressive, and extremely welcome in age of slick car salesmen. We felt that Randy had our best interests in mind, was prompt in returning calls and meeting with us, and was more than accommodating. I would not hesitate a moment to recommend Randy to anyone looking for a GM car -- his passion for cars, technology, and customer satisfaction is top notch. You can be certain that I'll be staying in touch with Randy when it's time to replace our other vehicle.
