One complaint would be that the interior of the vehicle (after they said it was cleaned and scrubbed) was still dirty (especially all the cup holders and armrests, what looked like a spill/splash of something down the cup holder and wall was left untouched). I was comfortable dealing with him and did not feel I was getting the run around. Devon's honesty and personality are really what made the decision easier! Derek Meikle was also an amazing guy to deal with during the actual financial portion of the sale; his explanation of everything available was great. AVOID this place! I normally don’t write reviews, but Winnipeg Kia surely deserves one. Sit down and have a coffee because this is a long one. I purchased a used v I normally don’t write reviews, but Winnipeg Kia surely deserves one. Sit down and have a coffee because this is a long one. I purchased a used vehicle from Winnipeg Kia 6 months ago. The initial experience was fine; everyone was friendly and wanted to help as best they could. I spent nearly half a day test driving vehicles and finally negotiated on one that I found. The negotiating process was your standard back and forth, ie. “I need to talk to my manager”, “this is the best I can do”, etc. I was about to walk out when they finally agreed on my offer. That was my first mistake, I should have kept going. Next came financing, initially I wasn't going to bother with this as I was going to pay the car off right then and there, but in order to qualify for their $1000 rebate, you need to go through financing. Keep in mind, they charge you an admin fee for financing as well as a security/etching fee which is roughly $250. I dealt with Derek who was friendly and seemed to know what he was talking about. I was approved for 6 months no interest, no payments. At this point, I asked him, if this was indeed the case, if I paid off this vehicle within the 6 month period, I would NOT incur any additional charges. He said yes, that was the case. The reason this came up was because on my contract, it stated the interest would start on the date of purchase, I asked him would it not make more sense for it to start after 6 months. He informed me that this would only take effect if I didn't pay it off before my 6 months was up and to not worry about it. I should have listened to my gut feeling, because 5 ½ months later, after I pay off the vehicle, I get charged an additional $585 dollars in interest! More on this later… I also had service done to the vehicle by Winnipeg Kia. As agreed upon in my contract, I had requested for them to replace the front rotors. A week goes by and I bring my car in for service, I was in so much of a rush that day, I neglected to inspect the work. I get home and noticed the front rotors looked resurface rather than replaced. There was still rust on the rotor hub! I should have followed up to complain, but if they can’t even do a simple job like that, there’s no way I would ever take my car back there for service. Now back to my previous issue about the interest charge. After finding out about this, I contacted Winnipeg Kia to find out why I was charged interest when the finance manager (Derek) said I wouldn't have to worry about this. I was then redirected to Cam Hall, the General Manager. I was told he would contact me right away, almost 2 days pass and he finally emails me with some information. I guess “right away” means 2 business days at Winnipeg Kia. Anyhow, I explained my situation to him (pretty much what I wrote here) and asked him what he could do to alleviate the $585 drop that was unexpected. Well, he pretty much indicated that I’ll never see that money again. So I replied and asked him, what can he do about our situation. 3 days have passed and I haven’t heard back from him. Can’t really say I'm surprised, this is the type of “service” you can expect at Winnipeg Kia. They act nice and kind to you when you first enter their showroom, but once you’re out the door, good luck! I definitely would NOT recommend coming here to purchase a vehicle. If you value your wallet and sanity, I’d advise you to go somewhere else. Probably would have had a better experience at Autotown. More
