Our salesman Allan Sugiyama spend a lot of time going over the features of the vehicles and our Options of 2018 Vs a 2019 as our preferred colour was not available locally. he worked with the sales manager to find us a 2018 in our colour choice and arranged to have it brought in. When if arrived Allan stayed late to insure that he was there to go over that particular vehicle to insure it met our needs and again stayed late when we took delivery going over everything the vehicle offered and ensured we understood all the safety features. The overall experience at that dealership has been terrific as this is our 2nd purchase there and both have been totally enjoyable happy friendly staff who put the customer first. all of the service on our first vehicle has been preformed by WEH as well and they have been terrific as well. I would recommend West Edmonton Hyundai to anyone looking to purchase a vehicle. More

We are right. You are wrong I took my car in for an oil change and tire changeover. The oil change was free (a good aspect of the service, of course, and one relating to the fact I took my car in for an oil change and tire changeover. The oil change was free (a good aspect of the service, of course, and one relating to the fact I originally bought my vehicle from this dealership), but the tire changeover cost me more than $400. This was because three studs and lug nuts were cross-threaded, they said, and the old studs had to be pounded out and replaced. The person who last touched the tires was a tire man with 15 years of experience at a Goodyear shop where I bought new tires. The person who attempted the tire changeover at Hyundai was an apprentice. I suggested to the service personnel that the cross-threading may well have happened as a result of this apprentice working on my vehicle, but they were adamant that it did not and that it happened when the lug nuts were being loosened, not tightened. I think when and how it happened is something only the apprentice mechanic knows for sure. From my perspective, a tire man with 15 years of experience – this being the the man who installed my new tires in the Goodyear shop - is unlikely to cross-thread one lug nut, never mind three. As this was the second time I wondered if a problem I had to pay for was not a problem caused by the work done at West Edmonton Hyundai (with the first problem costing me more than $800) and as the service department had also made other mistakes (such as informing every time I went for a service that I needed spark plugs and other services that had already been completed), I responded to a text-message invitation from the dealership to share my concerns with a designated customer service rep if I were not 100% satisfied with the service. Instead of listening carefully to my concerns, kindly expressing her understanding, and perhaps, kindly explaining why she disagreed, this person saw it as her duty to rigorously and aggressively defend the service department, which she had clearly consulted prior to my call and subsequent to an earlier message that I would like to chat with her. Suffice it to say this was not a friendly chat and there was nothing in the rep’s demeanor suggesting she wanted me to be 100% satisfied with the service (as per the text message). Rather, she clearly saw it as her duty to rigorously and aggressively defend the service department and to make abundantly clear that the responsibility for paying for the $350+ for labor, new studs, and new lug nuts was mine – despite the fact I had never mentioned I wanted the dealership to pay. And although I never mentioned the dealership paying any part of the bill, I guess I did imagine the customer service rep taking the initiative to say something like: “Look. I understand there is reason for doubt regarding these charges and, while I do have confidence that our apprentice did not create this problem, I would like to offer you a reduced rate on the labor charges. Would this help to make you 100% satisfied?”). Anyway, needless to say, I finished my chat with this rep much less satisfied than before I called. I saw absolutely no desire on her part to ensure I was 100 percent satisfied, but rather only a strong desire to rigorously defend the service department. Essentially, I saw a desire to express one simple fact: “We are right; you are wrong.” Depending on whether or not my son passes his upcoming driving test and proves sufficiently reliable to have his own vehicle, I may well give him mine this coming December. If I do, I imagined I would buy the new vehicle from this dealership, and, more specifically, from the manager's son, Levi, who has impressed me with his thoughtful, caring and non-aggressive approach to sales. I am no longer sure, however, that I will buy from this dealership as this experience strongly suggests that no one I had contact with really cared about my concerns or whether I, as the customer, was 100% satisfied with the service. I think the text message stating the dealership wanted me to be 100% satisfied really meant this: "We are 100% satisfied with the service we provide and, therefore, we expect you to be 100% satisfied, too. Please never draw into question the work that we do." More
