Be most careful dealing with Sales I'm really disappointed and heart broken, on June 6, 2014 I bought what I expected to be a brand new Tiguan RLine 2014 at Volkswagen de l'Outaouais (5 I'm really disappointed and heart broken, on June 6, 2014 I bought what I expected to be a brand new Tiguan RLine 2014 at Volkswagen de l'Outaouais (50K vehicle). The vehicle had 555km on it but the sales rep told me it was really no big deal, it was test driven a few times, but sadly it was the only one they had on their lot for this particular model and color. The good news was they credited a amount of about 600$ for the mileage, and at the same time I noticed it had a very small dent on the driver door which they fixed on the spot, and also the front bumper had a minor scratch which they told me these things happen on the car lot, anyhow the Sales manager said he would get it changed with an other front plastic cover from an other same color Comfortline Tiguan they had prior to delivery in which I agreed to. They even escorted me in the garage to show me the door dent fixed which was amazing, but in the mean time I wanted see more around the vehicle in case there was more dents, but the sales manager reassured me that I should not worry because VW Outaouais fully inspects their new vehicles before they handed them out to the clients on delivery day. So in my mind I had nothing more to worry about, this baby was brand new besides the 555km. Today I realized I should have known better and be more cautious all the way, but really never in a million years would have expected this, I found other damages within the interior of the car (Tiguan). One week after taking it home, on a Saturday afternoon I decide to do an inside cleaning job with a clean rag and water, while doing the inside plastic door covers I notice major scratches at the bottom, also on the bottom door casing, there is a silver Rline plate both are well scratched and passenger side even has a groove in it, and a small pointy dent in the casing frame, also the middle console, on the side passenger side, big scuff. If I would have known to look deeper and wonder what happened?? 555KM with all this?? If I would have know that this could happen when buying a new car, I would have inspected every inch....but who does that when your buying new and they supposedly prepare it and make an inspections??? Sales Manager told me that I had nothing to worry about and that the Tiguan would be fully inspected for any problems. What's most disappointing is after noticing this, I drove right away to VW de l'Outaouais to show this to the salesman and the sales manager who told me more than once during the negotiation process (if there's any problem, please come see me directly, I want to make sure your a very happy customer). Well first thing he said when he saw me waiting for him with the Tiguan parked right in the front of his office window was "Are you coming to see me for any damages?", "I said well yes, come see this". In an instance his response was that there was nothing he could do, it was to late, seems that I had signed of the papers at delivery before they gave me a tour of the vehicle on delivery day, and that I should have come back withing the next 24 hours. Now honestly I understand that I got played and that they should have told me about the scratches since they fully inspect their vehicles before handing out. They wanted to get rid of a used vehicle that had a rough first 555km on it and that some employee of the dealer who probably used and dragged his kids and stuff around who ended up damaging it. He even offered to fix it at the dealers cost prices. I said no, i'm not going to pay for something I haven't done and already paid for. He also told me that I took a chance by buying a used car even tho they were selling it as a new one, that if he would have been in my place he wouldn't have bought it. In all of this I take 50% of the blame for trusting them and not checking the new merchandise further, but you would think that they do it like they say, that's its their responsibly to make sure all new and used vehicles are inspected and that they know their stuff and inform the clients of everything....absolutely no surprises. I'm never doing business with them again and I feel I had to share this with you. Please be careful buying a car, mileage or no millage, make sure you inspect and test everything, cause you cant rely on their word since they are to busy trying to sell. More
More

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS CAR DEALER> Bought a used car that was "certified", emission tested and plated. The car turned out to need brakes on all 4 wheels (something that had been agreed would be used car that was "certified", emission tested and plated. The car turned out to need brakes on all 4 wheels (something that had been agreed would be fixed prior to taking possession). When told about problem, salesman agreed to send me parts and he would reimburse labor charges for installation. Had my mechanic do the work and of course payed him but when it came time to be reimbursed by VW de l'Outaouais, the salesman wouldn't return my calls. Tired of the runaround, I talked to one of the managers (Martin) who was very rude and became quite belligerent. He finally agreed to pay me what was promised by the salesman and told me he never wanted to hear from me again. Car also had a windshield leak which was apparent the day after taking the car home, it leaked at the slightest bit of rain. Contacted the salesman and was told curtly that a windshield is not part of safety standards. Filed a complaint with BBB and the garage's response was they were not aware of a windshield leak, which is absurd considering water leaked in every time it rained. This is a used 2006 therefore it sat outside while they had it. As far as the brakes go, they said they took my word for it and satisfied my request to fix the problem. Keep in mind I did the front brakes myself. DO NOT make the same mistake I made assuming a VW dealer would have high standards and treat all customers with dignity and respect. Don't fall for "thanks for buying with us and do no hesitate to contact us with any problems, we will do whatever it takes to have a happy customer". They will lie to deflect any responsibility to the consumer. This dealership is NOT an accredited BBB business, now I know why. This experience has left me very disappointed with the way a VW dealership can treat it's customers, I will never consider any VW product as a result. The salespeople were all smiles and assurances when looking at the vehicle but everything changed when problems arose More
On June 16, 2012, I went to the Volkswagen de l'Outaouais (850, boul Saint-Joseph, Gatineau) to test a 2012 Tiguan Comfortline with Technology package. The seller, Yves Milindi, was kind to sit down with us (850, boul Saint-Joseph, Gatineau) to test a 2012 Tiguan Comfortline with Technology package. The seller, Yves Milindi, was kind to sit down with us and talk about the discount on the car. I wanted to purchase the car with cash so that I needed the rebate based on that option. I was definitely not interested in financing or leasing. Yves did his calculation and after couple of discussions, he dropped the price to a reasonable amount (he would also specified that this goes to his manager's approval). Within this week, I was quite busy with my bank and some other friends in order to collect the money to purchase the car right away. I had to spend so much time on the phone with my Financial Advisor of my bank including a number of leaves from work to meet with them at the bank, bring all the documents related to my tax, income, pay stub, etc. All of these are times that I had to waste in which I realized today. Yes, today, I called Yves to request a meeting right before my final appointment with my bank for financing. For some reason Yves didn't show the screen we had worked on which shows the dealt amount. Instead, he kept saying that he'd show me the calculation from the beginning. I asked him to get my info on the screen to finalize the paperwork; however, he kept doing the same thing over and over again and trying to move the direction to another point. I then realized that he had erased the one we had previously and showed up the new one which was almost $7K more. When I asked him to explain the difference between the two prices, he said I must've been mistaken. He also told me that it wouldn't be him giving me that much discount. I felt like I was lying. I asked him some questions step by step such as; (i) Who called me to reply my email about the test drive? (Answer is 'Yves'); (ii) Whose office I met to discuss the price (Answer is 'Yves'); (iii) Who entered all the info into the system and told me the last price (without having manager's approval, of course), that was also him. I left his office as I couldn't take the lies any more. I had my wife and my child with me. I was so disappointed. Soon after (same day) I called the same dealer to talk to the manager. I explained what had happened with the seller. Instead of getting a kind 'sorry' from the manager, I received pretty hard tone voice. I was humiliated by both manager and the seller. I was hoping that I, as a potential buyer, would receive a decent feedback from them. That behaviour must be changed if VW wants to sell cars to more customers. I am now reconsidering my options to go with other brands. I always loved VW and I always loved German cars but the attitude of the manager and the seller must be investigated by VW Headquarters and/or other parties. I am a loss to VW and this must be questioned. More
deceitful, misleading sales representative. Sales rep led us to believe that a 500.00 reservation fee on a new model is refundable where it was not. Luckily the accountant held the rep's feet to the fire and us to believe that a 500.00 reservation fee on a new model is refundable where it was not.
