Pretty typical dealership - very attentive til you buy First of all Phil Rutherford is the man. Only part of my many experiences at Varsity that has been consistently AWESOME and was always in my corner when dealing with other aspects of the dealership. ASK FOR PHIL! After I purchased my car, there were a couple small things wrong with it that required repair before I took it home. After I went to pick it up, one of these was completely forgotten about by the service department. Took it back next week, they had it for the weekend again, minor fix was done this time. Next up I am getting an intermittent battery light and really loud, odd road noise during long highway drives. Both of these issues seem to be well known online so I assume Varsity will have an idea of what to do. Nope. After WEEKS of having my car I am told the road noise 'isn't something they're willing to try and replicate' (xxx?) and for the battery light I should 'wait 8 months and there should be a software update'. During this ridiculous charade I went to pick my car up at one point, was told nothing had been fixed (and they basically hadn't tried while they kept my car for days), so I refused to sign and accept its return. Service employee said 'well I'm off in 5 minutes, so whatever'. Ok, so the customer service is just as bad as the car service here. More recently, I had to ask them TWICE to remove me from their service call list (seriously, is that really so hard?) In summary, avoid this brand entirely, I've realized too late that Dodge vehicles are just not made well and there is not always a way to set things straight after you sign. Their QAQC is extremely poor and the dealership may decide not to deal with it at their expense. If you must have a Dodge, talk to Phil. He will be patient, helpful and honest and he totally avoids the stereotypical greasy car salesman trope. It was a pleasure to deal with him and I still talk to him every time I'm there. Don't expect anyone else here to actually try and help beyond the bare minimum required to keep their job. More

He helped me get out of my current loan that was a lot higher then my vehicle was worth. He told me that certain vehicles have larger rebates then others and that if I really needed to lower my payment he recommended a van or truck. I love my new truck. Even though the loan was higher than my previous loan he lowered my payments and got me a better interest rate! I would definatley recommend Varsity Chrysler and Jerry Wink to anybody! And I already have!! More
Doing the right thing To be fair we are human after all. If you have any misconceptions that anyone is perfect don't read this. That being said I bought a $52,000.00 Truck. To be fair we are human after all. If you have any misconceptions that anyone is perfect don't read this. That being said I bought a $52,000.00 Truck. Not the top of the line but still a worthy amount of money for the truck. My first oil change left me with a leak! I brought it back for the next oil change and found that the oil filter had not been installed properly. So I decided to do my own oil changes. I can do that competently! While under the truck I noticed a leak on the transmission pan. I contacted the dealership regarding this. They were so booked that I had to wait another week before I could get in. Fine!!! I don't care, if the truck seizes, it is still under warranty. And I have the warranty. So they dropped the ball again and we're not able to fix the problem right away. I need my truck for work so I can't afford to lose a day without my truck. I re booked and got the problem fixed the next week. Then I received an automated phone call regarding the service and the xx that goes along with "we value your patronage and appreciate your feedback blah blah blah! So I let them know in no uncertain terms how disappointed I was with what has happened since the purchase of my vehicle. I will now mention Chris Robertson (Service Manager) who without a hesitation talked to me for almost an hour. He not only rose to the occasion but went over and above what I hoped for. This is what is most important. Everybody makes mistakes and I can appreciate that. But to admit that and make things right is what is important! This is what Chris Robertson did and I am completely committed to trusting Varsity Chrysler with any work to be done to my vehicle, because of the service Chris gave me. Not that it is perfect but the fact that he will make sure that whatever work is done will be done to your satisfaction. Thank-You Chris More

Amazing price, amazing delivery time, extremely outgoing and supportive of my obsession and temporary insanity while ordering a 2015 Challenger R/T. Patiently and encouragingly endured my daily calls and inquiries, followed all my requests for delivery, and honestly, for the price he gave me on the car, probably not getting paid enough to put up with me. Prior to this my wife and I bought a 2013 Grand Caravan from Varsity with Roger Bibeau (who I don't believe works at Varsity at this time). Secured me the best price in Calgary, fast delivery, patient with handling our trade in, and everything settled initially with a single phone call. I'm probably one of the worst people to sell a new car to; I do my own maintenance, order my own parts, know more about anything I'm buying than the salesperson does, and buying two vehicles from Varsity has been fast and painless. None of the typical "well, I have to speak to the sales manager", "I can only offer this price today", high pressure, drawn out crap I've experienced elsewhere. I can't speak to the service or parts department, although they secured me an amazing price on winter wheels so hopefully I'll have a positive experience to add regarding that as well. More

After leaving the facility On friday june the 13th I attended varsity to get an oil change. I pulled right into their bay and left it it be serviced. After leaving the facility I noticed I had forgot my wallet in my vehical, I returned to varsity to find out one of the employees had taken the wallet. Once I informed them they did nothing to help or figure out how this happened. Therfore not being avble to do anything about this. Be advised you can not trust this place when it comes to personal belonging. More

I am from B.C. And it was a little complicated to get a 10 day temporary insurance, also the insurance lady we were dealing with in B. C. Was not accepting the fact that there is no registration in Alberta except thru the dealer ( I hope I got that right ). Any way Don was quite patient thru the whole process and even took me to the Alberta insurance to see if I needed insurance in Alberta, which I did not. I really appreciate all the time and effort he put in the transaction. Thank You Lou Dionne More
VARSITY RIPS CUSTOMER OFF $7000.00 REBATE-JERRY WINK HELPS!! ******UPDATE****** ******UPDATE****** Check out Varsity Chrysler Dodge FAIL RATING at 2015 New Car Dealership Investigations-Calgary. This what Steve Kindred (G.M.) of Varsity doesn't want consumers to know! The Automobile Protection Association (A.P.A.) wants to educate consumers on how Dealerships will RIP YOU OFF. Varsity (Steve Kindred) likes to put the blame on everyone else but themselves! Steve Kindred claims (brags) to have a University Business Degree but anyone with half a brain and a little common sense knows that a happy customer is a repeat customer! Its too bad Steve Kindred doesn't know this. IF YOU LIKE BEING RIPPED OFF KEEP PURCHASING FROM THERE. After you find out how you have been taken advantage of go and see Steve Kindred and see if you can get your money back; then you'll see who the REAL Steve Kindred is!!!! I purchased a 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan this past February 2014 from Varsity Dodge in Calgary. A week later I found out about a $9500.00 rebate on all Grand Caravans purchased in the month of Feb. 2014. I went back to Varsity Dodge to ask as to why I only received a $2500. rebate and not the full amount. When I went there to talk to the Sales Manager (Justin Migneault) about this issue, the salesman (Jerry Wink) who sold me the vehicle came up to me and asked "Is there a problem"? I told him why I was there and asked why I didn't receive the full rebate. Jerry Wink's reply was " it's not my job to tell people about rebates, I'm only here to sell you a vehicle". Jerry also said "this is the way I was trained, and I have a family. To Jerry this justifies him not telling me about the rebate. Jerry won't remember saying this because as I have learned some Car Salesmen best line is "I don't recall saying that" or "I don't remember promising that" Their best defence is amnesia after they get you to sign the contract. (JERRY WINK IS A TRUE CAR SALESMAN) Stay away from him because he only cares about his commission!!! I then went to see Justin Migneault the sales manager and asked him the same question and his response was "it's your fault for not knowing because it was advertised on T.V., the newspaper and the radio". Justin couldn't give any other answers to any of my questions so he just passed me on to the General Manager , Steve Kindred, to handle the problem. Apparently,he just passes the problems on to his boss and can't be bothered with customer service! A few days later I met with Steve Kindred and he already knew of the problem and explained that this is how the business works and Varsity is not in business to give refunds. Once the deal is signed, that's it, your out of luck because their in it to make a profit, not to care about the customer. (Even if you're right!) I WILL NEVER AGAIN PURCHASE A VEHICLE FROM VARSITY DODGE.They have unethical business practices in my opinion. I hope people will read this and not make the same mistake as I did by buying a vehicle from Varsity. I tried to write a review on their website but it was removed and blocked. Varsity only wants good reviews and not the ones that tell the truth! KNOW YOUR RIGHTS! - Call Chrysler Canada Incentives Dept.1-800-387-3514 to find out rebates being offered. - Go to the B.B.B. and Facebook to get a full view of Varsity Dodge's business practices. Under BBB their listed as Varsity Plymouth Chrysler. (1994) LTD(I wonder why?) - Any problems call Chrysler Canada Customer care centre 1-800-465-2001 to make a complaint. - Call A.M.V.I.C. (Alberta motor vehicle industry council) 1-877-979-8100 consumer complaint hotline. They will help you go to court on your behalf. - Email Better Business Bureau with your complaint. - Facebook-see how the real customers were treated. Varsity claims "public attack"-As a consumer I have the right to let other people know how I was ripped off $7000.00 that Varsity kept of my rebate. Just because they say "we are not at fault" does not make it true but I will break it down for Varsity so they can understand better. DECEIVING- JERRY WINK (Salesman) Not telling the customer of a $9500.00 rebate on all Grand Caravans because he will receive a higher commission, he definitely puts his commission 1st before customer service. UNETHICAL-JUSTIN MIGNEAULT (Sales Manager) Blaming the customer for not knowing of the rebate. The only wrong thing I did was trust Varsity to be up front & honest. UNETHICAL-STEVE KINDRED (GM) Keeping the $7000.00 of the rebate entitled to the customer , he has been probably been doing this for so long that he see's nothing wrong with this kind of business practice. It's plain and simple STEVE KINDRED-Business profit 1st-Business ethics last! GORD MOORS (Owner of Varsity & Automaxx) should teach his employees about being honest & ethical. But in my opinion service and sales are taught by the owner of a business. Since Varsity is NOT BBB ACCREDITED they will keep on conducting business this way without regards for the consumer. Since there is no law against being deceiving & unethical VARSITY will keep on conducting business this way. If you want to be ripped off, as I was, keep on purchasing from Varsity because THEY WILL DEFINITELY RIP YOU OFF! In the end it is all about there bottom line.(to see how much money Varsity can take from you legally-it is a fine line on how Varsity conducts business) I would NEVER RECOMMEND JERRY WINK & VARSITY to nobody! I tell anyone and everyone about Jerry Wink and Varsity!!!!!! More
