He had made sure that the discounts had been properly handled. More

I was comfortable and at easy with his explanation of everything and he kept me informed at all times. The Pittsburgh Steelers logo on his desk made me second guess his character to some degree, but in the end, I found him to be a very straight up and honest individual even with this distasteful and somewhat concerning lack of judgement. I will still rate him a 4.9/5. Well done sir, well done. More

The Toyota Town service department WILL do everything they can to trick unknowledgeable customers into paying for unessential services, through the use of fraudulent means. On Wednesday, December 14, 2016, I took my 2015 Toyota Corolla (purchased at Toyota Town in London, Ontario) for a routine oil change. During the course of my vehicle being serviced, I was approached by a female (Amanda Krug) from the service department. She walked up to me with 2 filters in her hand. The cabin air filter, and another air filter. Both filters were OEM Toyota filters and were grey and very dirty. She indicated that these are the filters out of my car, and the they need to replace them at a cost of about $100. I asked her if she was sure that those were the filters from my vehicle 3 times. Each time, she insisted, replying yes, they were the filters from my vehicle. I then went onto tell her that I put in a brand new filter (that is a completely different brand than the ones she brought to show me) into my car the day before this service appointment, and the other air filter was still quite clean, and in good condition. At which point, she was in complete shock, and didn’t know how to reply. Afterwards, I spoke to the manager (John Rossini), who stated that it was a mistake and that the filters were from a different car… the real mistake was that you tried to defraud the wrong person and that you got caught. The service attendant came right from the shop towards me holding what she claimed to be my filters. I asked her 3 times if she was sure they were from my vehicle and she said yes. There is no doubt in my mind that this was not a mistake, and the service department at Toyota Town knew exactly what they were doing. How can a dealership have the audacity to come up to a customer, try and convince them that their air filter is old, dirty, and in need of replacement, by being shown someone else’s air filter (or probably one they keep on hand and show every customer who comes in for a service appointment), and convince them that they need to pay extra to have it replaced? I’m appalled by the service I received, but also at the fact that I was treated like a complete idiot. It is unfortunate that the service department tries to make an extra buck by way of making false claims and using scare tactics on unknowledgeable customers. Consumer fraud at its finest folks. I have been a loyal and longtime Toyota customer, and I can definitively say that I will never consider purchasing another vehicle, or servicing my vehicle at Toyota Town every again. Signed, RR More
