Horrible service!! This is probably the worst dealership I have ever dealt with. I'm not sure if it is due to the lack of competition for being the only Honda dealer in This is probably the worst dealership I have ever dealt with. I'm not sure if it is due to the lack of competition for being the only Honda dealer in town which has forced people to buy here, or simply because people are just oblivious to actual customer service. I have given them my patience as well as the opportunity to redeem themselves, however they have failed miserably at every turn. Here describes my one year attempt at fixing an issue with my car from start to today: 1) The initial purchase of the vehicle did not start off on the right foot. Having had come from out east I am used to negotiations for vehicle purchases and thus was surprised to be low balled on both my trades. So when I visited friends in Edmonton I decided to compare their offer with another dealer. They offered me $8000 for both my cars compared to $6000 and were offering to ship my new Honda to me and pick up both my cars sight unseen to make the deal. I brought this to Sun valley Honda and after further negotiations they matched the deal and added a 4 free oil changes (btw, their actual cost for oil changes is not $24.99 but closer to $60 when you factor in the labour cost... another lie). I ended up taking their offer in the end with the managers convincing. 2) After picking up the vehicle I drove to BC for a road trip using the android auto (a feature which encouraged me to purchase the vehicle as it allowed me to save money rather than purchasing the top model). However, on the way back it stopped working due to a bluetooth connectivity issue and I could not use it anymore. Once I returned to the Hat, I brought this up to my salesman who quickly responded that if its android issue they could not do anything as they do not offer support for it (fair enough, can't provide repairs for an app you don't develop) however it was a bluetooth issue. They said it was the phone without looking at the vehicle and despite verifying that it was compatible with both the car and android auto. Despite this I got another compatible phone yet the problem continued. I kept going in and despite them checking the system and saying it was working, my phone would still sporadically disconnect while in use. They finally said that they were waiting on an update. 3) When they got the update, it still cut out. At that point I got fed up as it had been close to 7-8 months now that this issue had persisted so I ended up contacting Honda HQ which pretty much said to contact the dealer to resolve the issue. After fighting back and forth, they finally agreed to take my vehicle in to run diagnostics and lend me another vehicle to see if it worked with my phone (the manager was initially suggesting that I get a rental out of pocket for this and had to explain to him how this is not how other dealerships do business - I've had loaners when repairs were needed on my previous cars, xxxx, even had one dealership pay part of my vehicle rental cost because the repairs took longer than foreseen and impacted a personal trip). 4) When they were done with my vehicle they called me to pick it up. When I went, their service manager said, "If I would have known you were coming I would have cleared and heated your vehicle".... you called me?!?! Nonetheless, despite the then 10 months of waiting for a solution, they had finally agreed to order a new head unit for the vehicle and that they would call me when it came in. 5) It is now end February, 19 days short of my one year purchase date and I am still waiting on that phone call. The bluetooth is still cutting... At this point I've written these guys off and have chosen to warn people instead. Go to a bigger city where there are more dealers to compete with. It may be more time consuming, but in the end, you'll get a better deal, save money, and get treated better as a customer. Despite my almost one year battle with this issue, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and even let coworkers know that despite their initial shortcomings they gave me a good deal after negotiations in the end. They got 4 vehicles sold (including mine) in the past year thanks to me, yet I'm left with a still broken system with another compatible phone that i bought to replace the one they said was also compatible but might still be the problem. 6) If anybody else has experienced bluetooth connectivity issues and have found a solution, let me know, xxxx tell theses guys! A pissed off customer. More

They reco I bought a new Honda Accord in November of 2014. The car has worked flawlessly since then. I had the dealership install a remote starter. They recommended the Auto Start remote as Honda remotes have limited range. I agreed. In autumn of 2015 the remote failed. They replaced it with a new module under warranty. Because of winter travel by me, the install happened in February of 2016. In January of 2017 it failed again. I returned to the dealership, and they arranged an appointment. At that time, they informed me that they no longer handle Auto Start remotes due to issues like mine. When I arrived for the appointment, they requested the car for a longer time so they could change out the old unit and replace with a brand new Python remote. Which they did. At no charge to me. And they were polite the entire time. They took very good care of me, and on that basis, I heartily recommend Sun Valley Honda. More

I went in September 2016 and let them know I was working with an insurance claim and did not know when I would be getting my pay out to put as a down payment on my vehicle. They assured me this would not be an issue. I spoke with Kayne about my financing options and he asked what they would have to offer me to make a deal today. I told Kayne my price and he spoke to Kyla in finance. Kayne returned a short while later and stated they could make the deal I wanted. I put the deposit on my vehicle and left thinking I had just made a wonderful deal. Kyla and Kayne then both started calling me 2-4 times a week, many times asking the same questions and making it clear that they don't communicate. Kyla and Kayne questioned why my insurance took so long to pay me out and I could not answer; the claim process started in July 2016 and did not complete until November 2016. I let Kayne and Kyla know I would call them whenever I knew more information but yet they continued to call me. The calls became bothersome especially during my work day. Kayne and Kyla were pushy in their sales tactics and I felt pressured and forced. Kyla called me on one occasion and asked me to get a cosigner as my down payment was taking too long to arrive from my insurance claim, this made no sense to me as my monthly payments would go up if I didn't have a down-payment and the selling point on the vehicle for me, was the price. At the end of November I received my insurance payout and contacted Kayne, we set up a day for me to come in and pick up my new vehicle. Kayne asked me to bring in my down-payment in cash, I declined and stated I didn't want to walk around with thousands of dollars cash in my purse, I asked to pay by bank draft and they requested I pay by debit which seemed odd to me but I agreed. When I arrived to sign my financing documents the terms of my deal had changed and no one had notified me. Even though Kayne and Kyla harassed me with phone calls for 2.5 months no one had a moment to call and tell me my financing would be more expensive AND and extra year long. When I read the paperwork and asked why it was different than my offer Kyla simply responded with "that's the best I could do". I informed Kyla I would not be purchasing this vehicle as it was not the amount I was informed of. I felt Kyla was very cold and dismissive, she never once apologized for their mistake. I left the dealership in a panic as I now had no vehicle and I am required to have one for my job. Kyla stated she would "see what she could do and get back to me". Kyla and Kayne both text me throughout the afternoon and asked if I would come back into the dealership, I declined. Kayne then text me stating they would be willing to knock money off the price of my vehicle to get me down to the payments they had quoted me for. I was so unimpressed with the customer service I continually declined. I contacted McFadden Honda in Lethbridge and they helped me in getting a newer vehicle for less money. I should have listened to all of the negative reviews I had heard about Medicine Hat Honda, I will never recommend or return to this dealership. If you want to buy with Honda save yourself the headache and take a drive to Lethbridge for quality service. UPDATE: After phoning the General Manager, he did not call me - I called him, I was told the dealership had "messed up" and they hoped I would service my vehicle with them. I thanked the Manager, Devin, for his time and ended the call. The following week I received a text from Kayne Watts asking if I would accept 2 free oil changes in exchange for taking down my negative review, I declined. When I declined their attempt at "making things better" they proceeded to change their response to my review. Sun Valley Honda is basically a three year old having a tantrum, when they get negative feedback they throw the customer under the bus. This is evident through all of their replies to negative reviews. Instead of taking ownership of their mistake, like Devin did on the phone, they blamed me for the time line and credit application. None of these points were communicated to me in person and the response written below by the dealership does not accurately reflect what happened when I attended the dealership. I was contacted several time, via phone, in regards to my credit application and it WAS discussed over the phone. No one contacted me to set up an appointment to "review" my application when the monthly payment changed. I was NOT offered other options in regards to the payments for the vehicle, I was coldly dismissed by finance. No one reviewed financing options with me until I stated I would not purchase the vehicle at the set price. Offering 2 oil changes in exchange for removing my review is not trying to make things better, it's covering up their mistake. Why would anyone return to a dealership that is rude and lies even if the services are free? No thanks. I genuinely hope people see how Sun Valley Honda lies and treats people before they consider purchasing here, this is a disgusting place and I will never return no matter how free my services could be. Terrible services and awful customer experience I will never go to this dealership again, and I don't recommend that anyone else should. I went into Sun Valley Honda to get an oil change, and I w I will never go to this dealership again, and I don't recommend that anyone else should. I went into Sun Valley Honda to get an oil change, and I was told that my transmission fluid and brake fluid were due to be changed as well. I have a regular trusted mechanic in Edmonton who has maintained my vehicle for years, but I thought that since I already had my car in the shop that I might as well get them changed. Once it was all done, I felt like my brakes were a little off, but I don't know much about cars so I thought maybe it was how it was supposed to feel with new fluid. The next day, I drove 6 hours to Edmonton on the highway going about 120 km/h. I was really lucky that there weren't many cars going that direction at that time, because I got to Edmonton and realized that my brakes were not working the way that they should. I would floor the brake and the car still go many metres before stopping. I called my mechanic and took my car in, driving at about 30-40 km/h and flooring the brake constantly and praying for no yellow lights. It was an extremely dangerous and traumatizing situation. My mechanic checked my brake fluid reservoir and found it to be empty. He took my car in and found that the rear wheel cylinder was loose and leaking and there was a part missing. He fixed my brake fluid situation and wrote up a clear record of service for me to bring into Sun Valley Honda. I went in and the manager only wanted to reimburse me for the repair that was done and didn't think he should have to pay for the initial brake fluid change that had caused all of this to begin with or that I deserved any more compensation other than the repair cost. Additionally, he was very patronizing and not empathetic to my situation, saying that human errors happen and that no harm was done so I didn't deserve any other compensation. He even went as far to suggest that it was possible that something on the highway had knocked off the plug, and I have driven on the highway a numerous amount of time without any issues even close to this. He started comparing the mechanical field with the medical field saying that people in the medical field make mistakes all the time, and when I told him that I was in the medical field, he started telling me about my own profession and how I should understand that mistakes happen. When I asked what he would do if I'd truly gotten into a bad accident or hit a pedestrian, he said that the dealership has insurance that would cover all medical costs. I do understand that mistakes happen, but I feel that he should be more concerned about the gravity of what has happened. I am appalled at his lack of concern regarding the potential risk and lack of safety in this situation that he's put me through, and I felt that he should have offered as much as he could. I will not be returning to Sun Valley Honda. More
